Next ToonTown Follies will be over St Patty's Weekend. Come in costume!
Post from Feb 26 2006 below. Some formatting has been changed.
Next ToonTown Follies is rescheduled for -
Sunday Feb 26, 6pm Pacific (8 Central, 9 Eastern)
Meeting in BRRGH, PET SHOP, Wacky Falls (follies, falls, get it?)
Make one spot to SF Prof Purplewhip
***Set your alarm clocks!***
Original post from Feb 11 2006 below. Some formatting has been changed.
ToonTown Follies is coming to a playground near you!
You want to join! You want to hang out with funny people being silly then go out into ToonTown and make more people laugh! No audition necessary, just commit to some practice time.
Who? Any toon. Even if you don't have all the emotes, we can work that into the choreography
What? Synchronizing emotes into a choreographed dance
When? First practice is Saturday Feb 18 6pm Pacific Time (TT open). By 6:45 we will perform a dress rehearsal for unsuspecting toons in Donald's Dock.
Where? Meeting in Brrgh, Wacky Falls, near unopened HQ street. We will TP to Queen PW's estate after we make sure everyone has at least one friend present.
Why? Because you want to ham it up!
How? Read on!
The Details
Here are the Emotes. Each Emote has been assigned a letter. (updated Feb 26)
W Wave
H Happy
S Sad
G Angry
E Sleepy
U Shrug
D Dance
T Think
O Bored
A Applause
C Cringe
N Confused
F Belly Flop
B Bow
P Banana Peel
R Resistance Salute
I Jump
Using the letters, we create dance routines. For example we can do the CAN CAN by emoting-
Cringe, Applause, Confused, Cringe, Applause, Confused
If we wanted to PUT BAR TAB that would be (highlight to see if you got it right)
Banana Peel, Shrug, Think, Bow, Applause, Resistance Salute, Think, Applause, Bow
There are endless possibilities (OATS R GOOD, WHAT CAN TOUCH NO HAND) for choreography. We can also build in movement and partnered emotes (one toon emotes anger while the other cringes and runs in a circle). For now, we'll start with CAN CAN DUD and PUT BAR TAB for our practice and dress rehearsal. Performances will be scheduled based on participant interest. Remember they can happen anytime once you know the Emotes and build your own acronyms! You too can invent ToonTown Follies whereever you are. Certain Brown Monkeys might appreciate this aspect!
Also, we need costumes. Not necessarily by Saturday, but down the road. I imagine we can all get matching costumes by designating a Costume Designer to buy and send us all matching clothes out of their Cattelog.
What do I do next?
1 Post comments or interest level below. If you posted in my blog please repost here.
2 Note any emotes that you are missing
3 Check back Saturday morning for the meeting location. It may be updated here, it may be in a PM to you.
**If you need a cheat sheet for the choreography, print this!**

I would absolutely LOVE to go!!!! The only problem is that I cannot be there this Saturday. I'll be out of town, but hopefully I can make it to the next one. Clover has all the emotes, I think (Thanks to a friend who bought me F and P hehe.) It'll probably take a little time to learn the emote codes. I'll figure it out. I also mostly have enough jellies to buy things for us. I just can't buy F and P. I'd also be glad to buy the costumes. I just need unites, probably cfo's for my own unites, some of you on my friends list lol, and a lifetime supply of SANDWICHES!!!!! Or not. Anyway, I'm in!
I also have a couple of ideas for the choreographing of the dances. One is that there could be a toon in front, and everyone lined up in somewhat of a triangular fasion behind that toon. The toon in front does the motions, and all the toons behind that toon do the same motions after the first. Throughout the whole thing, the toon in front does the motions about 2 steps ahead of everyone else. I also think a wave would be a good idea, because as far as I know, it's nearly impossible to syncronize over the internet (this is easily found out when one has several computers and accounts to work with). My family and I have to see eachothers screens to get even close to syncronizing. If anyone can find music to work with and post it on here for everyone to syncronize with, that would be great, too. I don't know about the limits we have about starting the music at the same time or anything, or making it play so everyone else can hear it. Also, sf'ing is a good idea. There could also be some rhythm other than a song we could use, like a metronome. Looool We could also just wing it!!!!! Wheeeee!
Clover (I'm the purple one hehe)

I just noticed.... Here's an idea for the rhythm:
We will, We will, ROCK YOU!
looooool I thought that was funny, yet actually workable, though it's a little on the fast side. Maybe do something a little bit slower.

Rats! I can't make Sat. nights. The Cheezytoes Bros. both have all the emotes and a decent sense of rhythm.

Hey all,
No worries, we will most certainly add other days and nights. This first one will probably have us all laffing so hard at our own mistakes we will peel right out of our chairs and flop right onto the floor in RL!
I LOVE all your ideas Clover! Waves and shapes in particular is brilliant! There is no memorization involved, just remembering to watch your 'dance captain' and going from there.
Woo hoo! This is gonna rock!

And now I have a couple more ideas. One idea is that the outfits could be just regular seasonal outfits. That way, it's easy for everyone to buy them. It doesn't normally point us out so much, however a whole row of dancing toons in the same outfits would look great no matter what the outfits are. Another idea is that we should probably start with smaller routines. An easy routine is that we could do all the motions in a row from how they appear in the speed chat, which happens to be just the order that Queen Purplewhip put them in. That would be an easy, yet slightly long routine. Clover has a shirt from the 4th of July, two Christmas shirts, and a valentines shirt. And I have a variety of skirts that seem to match any outfit lol. I'll probably see you all at practice next week! BTW, if anyone has trouble remembering how the dance goes, one can practice at any time. I would not think that seemingly random motions would cause anyone to think of our ttfollies, especially since we haven't even performed yet lol. The dance idea came from some cheerleaders at a basketball game that one of my friends watched.

Hey! If I can do a Kick-Ball-Change whilst singing the Lollipop-kids song I can do this easy. I would not miss this most momentous occasion for anything. Count Me In! I'll start practicing today. You know there actually may be a Dance Night Out created for this by TT. Much like JB Tuesdays. People all over TT will come to participate. Wonderful Idea!

Rats,
Have a dinner date on Sat.
Can someone with Frapps or other video capture program try to "flim" this for posterity? (well actually, just for laffs!)
I stink at Minnie's dance on the trolley games, I get about -2 or -10 beans when I do it and even then I need lots of coaching. On the otherhand, my kids ROCK on DDR (you know, the dance dance revolution thingy on PS2 ,left left, right, fwd, back, jump, spin, .... sweat, sweat, .... pick up broken vase, jump, jump right, right, spin, etc...). I mentioned this them and they think it will be a blast!
Gonna make an exception here and let them play mom and dad's toons who have the emotes.
(or, they need peel, cringe, flop on Super Zowie Doggenwoof, not so sure about what emotes are on Bananasplat)
Hope you all have fun!

Cute new avatar Miss Mo Mo. Hey are you going to be Mrs Mo Mo after the wedding?
OK everyone, the meeting place is noted at the first post on the thread. See you there at 6:00pm Pacific time! Our first two routines will be:
CAN CAN DUD
Cringe, Applause, Confused, Cringe, Applause, Confused, Dance, Shrug, Dance
&
PUT BAR TAB
Banana Peel, Shrug, Think, Bow, Applause, Resistance Salute, Think, Applause, Bow
- Missing an emote? Use Jump instead
- By 6:45 we'll head over to Donald's Dock and perform!
- Any Frapps users coming?
Anyone else getting stage fright? lol! All toons are welcome to come watch the performance, even if you can't make rehearsal.

LOL, Ricky will make sure both Super Zowie and Banansplat have cringe (can't help with belly flop or banana peel). I hope to see the girls tonight.
Lois - we can't go to your estate unless we are friends with your toon, even if we have another friend there. I've got you on Miss Bananswirl, but she's pretty un-emotional. Does anyone know how to get into the clouds above DDL? Or on top of the bed in the pg. Either one would be a nice cushion for when we fall. Just a suggestion for if there are a lot of toons not on your list that want to participate.

OK all - to solve the estate issue, I've made another toon with no friends! Here are codes for her so you can come to the estate! I'll have both toons there (two computers now, remember) so either way works!
