Recommended Movies: General Audiences

Since we are on the Netflix craze in our house, and we have always been big fans of watching movies, I figured I'd start this thread to get some recommendations for our "queue" and for tips to the best movies out there this one would be those not necessarily for kids, there is a kid recommendation thread here:

The last two movies that I enjoyed immensly from Netflix were:

John Q. Public and Constantine

What have you been watching? What are you dying to see?

I watched Cars yesterday afternoon. Great movie! We went to watch Over The Hedge thinking that Cars would be TOO busy to see, but we lucked out and saw it instead.

My favorite character would be "Mater" you know like Tamater without the "Ta" lol. Voiced by none other than Larry The Cableguy, he even got a "Git R Done" in there near the end LOL.

We also loved Cars which I was fairly sure would be the case, but I at least was pleasantly surprized by Over the Hedge which I expected to dislike and actually liked. Confused

No wonder you liked Mater!! Razz

I still recommend Hoodwinked. There are loads and loads of old school movies as well, way too many for me to list!

We had seen Howl's Moving Castle at the theater, but got it on DVD and have watched it several times at home now. Both the grown-ups and the kids love it.

I also highly recommend trying "The Cat Returns" from NetFlix, I and the kids were blown away by this movie the first time we watched it. An amazing adventure.

Hubby and I went to see Ghostrider on Sat. I would recommend it for Netflix, not full movie price. I think I fell asleep, not sure though.

The last movie I saw from Netflix I was pleasantly suprised by was -Thank you for not smoking.
I think that was the title.

Monty Python movies are always a good bet! I just recently saw Young Frankenstein again and laughed the whole way through...it is amazing how much movies change (or maybe just your perspective changes hee hee) over 5-10 years.

Recommended movie: Bee Movie

It teaches us that bees make a big difference in our world today. I definitely suggest going to see it. Also, it's hilarious!

We are big Sci-Fi fans, so any of the Star Trek series go well at our house. Usually they are kid-friendly. We also have enjoyed the Stargate series. OK, you get the idea. As for movies, Akeela and the Bee was excellent. Finding Forrester was great. Any of the John Wayne stuff we would consider winners, too, except for some of his really early stuff. Short Circuit is great. I think the first one was better than the others. Isn't that usually the case with movie series? Mr. Holland's Opus, and Sandy Bottom Orchestra too. Have fun with those Summer Flix!

I recommend, The Spiderwick Chronicles. It was non-stop fun action from the beggining to the end. You WON'T be disappointed.
