My Law rant
View Single PostView Single Post

I could have spent more time looking for a rant section but I'm just too frustrated. The disco's are bad...yes! But the teamwork and play to get to the boss is frightening!

I was just in with a 27 and 29 laffer!!! GIVE ME A BREAK! They expect you to carry them thru the endless cog fight so they can get a look at the boss?!!! Not only that...they have no clue. Asking you to use sound on a row of 12's. Ohhh it was tempting, mighty tempting. There was one other big toon in there with me and I wondered if she didn't have the same thought as I did. These guys used a creme pie slice alone on an 11!!! We were constantly having to toon them. Yeah, we'd been better off without them! much better. Next time... It hink I will use the sound and watch em die!

The wee ones are causing elevator shuffle and it is ridiculous!!! I'm not wasting even one TU unite on them nor any gag ups.

When CBHQ came out we only had a few cogs to fight before we got to the boss. This is a full fledged battle and I've only gotten thru it once without a disco.

Ok, rant over. PLUS, until the disco prob is correncted, I think I'll take a nap and play at night.

Really feel your pain here on this and knew it was going to be this way with the no merits/bux requirements lifted. If I remember right at the start of testing CHQ for a few days we actually did have to face a complete cog battle. After a few of us put in bug reports and asked that they lower the number of cogs so that we could test the actual boss battle they put it down to a few cogs.
We ran into a blue 47 laff yesterday who was sporting a whole 7 laff trying to get in the elevator. Rolling Eyes

You would think that the developers could put something in place to keep the extremely low toons out of the boss battle!! How in the world can you test when you have to deal with this kinda stuff??!!

That being said I know everyone wants to get a look at the boss battle regardless of laff. I think that if someone has a lower level toon that it is best to get your friends to take you in so that you have a chance to make it past the cogs. From the battles we have done so far random low laffs rarely make it far.

I agree. The discos reminded me of when Sellbot HQ came out on OPEN and we would load the elevator to the VP and Corky Dizzysplat (Dynosplat?) would tell everyone not to use the speedchat or make any noise. I honestly felt as though he was actually holding his breath the hold elevator ride.

I agree on the low laffs. I know from CBHQ that they would come, althought I honestly thought they wouldn't INVADE. I saw two 16 laffs trying to get in the elevator. Disney needs to either reduce the cogs in the cog round til we stop disconnecting every 10 minutes, or they need to install the jury notice requirements, to eliminate these small toons from the lobby.

Other than those small rants, I think the boss battle is a bit weak. I do like the cannon toss to the jury seats though, it seems more "toony" to do it that way. The Evidence fight is a bit too easy though, maybe the cogs should be walking around?

I hope it gets better, though. Will wait it out a bit more before becoming fed up with it.

This is incredible. All day yesterday, everyone disconnected. I was going banans. Now today..the connection seems better. I last longer before being disconnected. The part that is making me crazy are toons getting in elevator..laff 15 but only has 1 point and no gags. We are testing here not babysitting. Work on your tasks so you can make it throught the cog round. I would like to make it through, not go sad because you took up space. It's not fair to all that have completed their tasks. I worked very hard over the past months to get tasks done for this very purpose.
Aviod me..I am cranky!

** Also didn't we have more districts when we were testing CHQ? It would really help if they would add a couple more to help avoid some of this shuffle.

I submitted this suggestion for the lawbot hq final battle to Disney:
Quote:

A suggestion for the final battle in the Lawbot HQ. The cogs to the side are really not a menace to the toons at all. If all toons focus their evidence at the scales on their side, they can easily tip the scales faster than when toons split off to stun the cogs.

My suggestion here would be to possibly have the cogs move around in a circle around the scales thus making the toons have to dodge them. The cogs shouldn't be able to be engaged, maybe they could just swat at the toons taking a little laff everytime, the higher the cog the more powerful the swat. I am not sure what this HQ is geared toward as far as level of toon, but it does seem a bit easy now for most any Brrg+ toon.

Agreeing with you all about the low laffers, I submit this as a warning to any low laffers on my side...... I won't purposefully make you go sad, but I won't go out of my way to keep you alive either. (ubers can come Cool )

and just a reminder..... Sell and Cash HQs were both VERY different in their original release than when they finally went to open. Give them some time, they will kill you all in the end ....... angel8

Oi! I think the most frustrating thing to me was the discos, it was driving me crazy! But i didnt have such a bad experience with low laff toons as some of you. I keep getting booted off right when we were on the 2nd floor of the library, then when i tryed to go to the judge i got booted too. I hope tonight it gets better

Can you really blame the low laffers for wanting to see what's going on in there? If you really don't want to put up with them, then go in with friends.

This is all new and exciting, and there are a LOT more kids playing on Test these days. While they can, they want to see the new things too. We all want to build our toons and be the first to defeat and get to level 50, or whatever. But let's just have fun during these first few days and not be so serious about it. There's plenty of time to get down to business later after the hysteria has worn off.

Oh .. Hi everybody. I've been here lurking for a while, but this is my first post!

I don't blame them for wanting to go, but it is next to impossible to go with friends when there are ten 15 laff toons jumping on and off the elevator.

I worked my butt off to get my toon where it is, and while I don't mind helping the medium laff toons who made an attempt to get somewhere with their toon, I'll be [durned] if I am going to waste my precious time with a 15 laffer who did not even make an attempt to get their level 2 gags.

Finally won one. We didn't have any problems with low laffers but the boss battle is rather non-challenging at this point (in my opinion). The cog battle is too darn long with high level cogs for the moment. Geez - just let us test the boss battle for goodness sake!

We had 3 or 4 seats turned blue at one point, but I guess the cogs can take them away again? 'cause we only ended up with 1 toon seat.
And - why do I want to summon a Bottom Feeder???

First I must comment on the last post. This was about 2 am! I don't think there were that many kids awake playin in hopes that test would come back up? None of us had a real clue when it would be back.

Second you can NOT go with a group of friends. Picture the busy district trying to get into Bullion. Double that amount of toons and shuffle and you have the law elevator......maybe triple that. You really just luck out to be able to go with friends. Last night we did manage to get a small group in one elevator but quite a few were left behind.

Also if you think about it. On open you really want to see the boss battles also but you can't until you earn your right to be there. Are these small toons turning in bug reports? That is why everyone is allowed to be there. To TEST! I know I sent in at least 6 or 8 last night. (HA at 4 am I'd love to re-read what I sent LOL) Just makes it so much harder for those who worked their buts off the last few months getting ready for law. Can't test if you don't make it to the boss battle! OK enough of that rant. I usually have no problem jumping in a bld or fac with small toons so I'm not against a smaller toon being where they really shouldn't be. But on test not only are we there to have fun but to TEST. Guess that is the part that annoys me the most.

I totally agree they should make the cog battle shorter for this time period. Never did do it with 4 on my side. Had 3 and one time 2 (we rocked Cat)! Very Happy (The 19 laff with us of course went sad early on)

I wouldn't mind in open but right now the slip throwers are fine where they are Smile I just get a good hit thing going and they throw me off and it's back to square one. Wouldn't be so bad if they just knocked you on your but like in CFO but why do we turn around each time we are hit? Another thing I'm not real thrilled about is you get knocked off your cannon when trying to shoot. I hit quite a few times last night only to have my "blue chair" taken over by a cog again. Ugggg!

OK My little rants which would proably be no big deal (cept the 19 laffers) if I had gotten more than 3.5 hours of sleep Very Happy Just thoughts running thru my head as I was playing.

Now for the plus side. I love the look of the place. MUCH nicer than any ol factory (the mints or what ever they are called) The boss battle with the wood trim, the shiny floors etc. All a step above in looks and feel than the cold VP/CFO areas. They did a good job with that!

Now I'm off to read the rest of the forums and try try again Smile See you there!

Many have worked very hard lately to build their toons up. I don't blame the low laffers for wanting to see - but perhaps THEY are the ones who should be going with their friends? How are we supposed to test it if we're going sad the whole time thanks to them? They all had the same chance to build up their toons and they failed. A few days effort and they would be READY to test it - I don't think that's too much to ask...testing IS the business at hand right now and it will be going to open around the same time they place the suit restrictions. I certainly hope we've had the chance to adequately test it by then. The 15 laffers are interfering with our job.

There are only 2 districts to CFO in on test so getting a group together and going with only your friends is virtually impossible. You will in the majority of the times either spend a long time shuffling or choose to just pack it in and most likely leave some of your friends behind. Pretty much all of the times that I packed it in and didn't look at laff I ended up sided with super low laff toons.

I think that in order for us to be able to test this properly in the short amount of time it looks like we will have that TT either needs to lower the number of cogs or make the entrance to the elevator restricted to certain laff toons.

I agree it would be fun to see, but not a place for a low laffer with low gags. I've spent the last month really working my test toon to be ready for this. I wanted not just to be able to see it, but be able to work it! You certainly can't get passed the cog battles right now without sufficient laff and gags. I'd say it is slightly tougher than CFO right now.

I saw the post on TTC yesterday and wrote out a lengthy response explaining why low laff toons should not be interfering with our testing responsibilities. I decided not to post it at the last minute because I didn't feel like taking the heat for being too serious and not just having fun. (I hate arguing with kids, lol) Everyone here seems to feel the same way I do about these guys. I know they want to see it, my 5 year old begged me to let him take his 46 laffer in. I explained to him that his dog is just not strong enough to help the team and that is what Toontown is all about. Teamwork.

I agree with this. I am wondering just what does a 17 laff toon with no gags on them think they are testing here? What it is like to go sad? Pretty much what they are doing. Even a 17 laff with all their gags will not likely make it through the cog round. I have had a few frustrating rounds with low laff toons the worst one where my friend was grouped with two low laffers while all the high laffers were on my side. The best toon up on her side besides her own maxed toon was Megaphone and they were down to doodles pretty quick. So she went sad not long after them. How does that let us test properly if we can't get past the cogs?

All that said I have made it through more cog battles in the boss battle today only to disco before we start the cannons. I give up.

It really doesn't matter what we want to test or do. People are excited to see the new battles, the new bosses. All that excitement overrides any other logic in your brain. Even us adults do silly things because of the excitement, like taking a day off work to play TT, sneaking in a play at lunchtime at work, checking Toontown Test everyday to see if it's back up, etc. Wink

I don't blame them, they are excited. And it's gonna frustrate the rest of us for a time. They basically turn into little griefers without intending to be.

So what do we do? I don't have the answer but I won't let them turn me into a monster because of it. lol I try go with friends when I can or when it's quiet. Or go do some tasks. Smile

Since I don't have enough play time to last through battles I will volunteer King P to sacrifice himself with the little toons.

I'll jump on with them, battle as far as possible, then go look for my contact. In the meantime, you guys get in there and keep testing! See you tonight (except for the two hours devoted to my Amazing Race team)
