I have LOST it!

Ok, 6 fish left to catch and no sign of it happening anytime soon. I think I have gone over the edge....last night I offered my daughter $20 for every new species she could catch. She is on Spring Break so I figure she has lots of free time to fish. She thought it was a pretty sweet deal until she fished for 2 hours last night and caught nothing....now she is beginning to rethink. She woke me up at 2, and said "I'm thinking $50 per fish might be more like it". The scary part...I may actually be willing to pay that.

So if you see Loopy on TT and she ignores you, it is probably Allie fishing. She was given instructions to say it was her if anyone talks to her, but she is always switching back and forth between TT and instant messaging, so she may miss the whisper.

Just looked...I was wrong about the trout. The last two are one of the bears and one of the king crabs.

The crab is the Old King Crab. Fairly easy compared to the others, it takes about an hour to catch on Lighthouse Lane.

My five I need are:

All Star Fish
Concord Grape PB & J Fish
Full Moon Fish
Grand Piano Tuna
Grizzly Bear Acuda

They're all ultra rares and have completely eluded the Colonel. Add the Devil Ray and Holey Mackerel for Cap.

Personally, I think it's borderline ridiculous that they made this final laff point so difficult.

Loopy, if I might suggest:
- Old King Crab
Lighthouse Lane
- 1/2 moon and full moon: go camp out at Lullabye Lane. You'll get the 1/2 moon.
do this one if you haven't caught a Crab after 10-20 buckets just to break up the montony.
- next you might wanna do the BRghh
Walrus Way and PG for the Grizz
- the grand piano: ughh, settle out at Tenor or Alto. this could be a long one. was my toughest fish
I also caught my All Star and MML looking for the Grand or Baby Grand on Alto Ave.

Once you got your 1/2 moon and maybe your Crab you are in for a day, a week or a month of fishing
(sorry)
- Camp out at DDL PG, fish for the Full moon and Concord.
I caught 3 Concords and 4 Devil Rays at DDL PG trying to get my stinkin' Full Moon. That was after 6 weeks of fishing. pfffft.

I'm fishing my 2nd toon for 70 fish, Queen Frecklezilla at 61 fish. I must be a glutton for punishment, but I wanna test my fishing theories. Look out Batleth, I'm gonna see if I can come up with something emminently more useful than a bunch or tables and stats. If I see Loopy on, I will let you/your daughter know if I find a "hot district" and come visit with me. I hope I bring you some luck!

Best rgds- LST

If you have theories, please PM me. I am in Loopy's boat on this one, but have no one to hire to fish for me while I play test.

I have to concur with the losing it. I have been fishing for 14 months with Jellyroll and still have
yet to catch the Devil Ray or the Grizzly. I have used the guides, fished everywhere that I have supposed
to fish and still nothing.

Yesterday, I spent 5 hours in DL and the Brrgh and caught 75 buckets and couldn't even catch a
cold!!

So I guess poor Jellyroll will stay stuck on 68 Fishes forever! Ugh! Sad

Jellyroll, Loopy and Col Cheezy,

Try this. Back to the "hot district theory".

TUESDAY APR 4th HOT DISTRICT = Crazyham

Pick the less rare of your fish you wanna go after or a place where 2 of your fish might be playground-wise.
(for example: Grand Piano and All Star on MML, Devil Ray/Grizz in Brgg, Full Moon/Concord in DDL)

I start at the top or bottom of districts. I fish 4-5 buckets at one district in the PG, then move to the street (eg Tenor in MML, Walrus in BRgg, Lullabye in DDL) and fish 5-10 buckets. If I start catching over 200 beans/bucket at a district, I stay. If I start catching bunches of the type of fish I'm looking for (Pianos, Bears or Moons) I also stay. If I start catching records, definitely stay put, put in the time. If I keep catching junk fish, I move the next district. You can bounce thru 5-6 districts before something feels right.

Once you find a "hot district", just camp out and fish for an hour or two.

Let's say you don't want to go from district to district... Well if someone posts that they caught a rare/ultra rare THAT day, go to that district. Doesn't need to be the same fish. I got 2-3 of my rares and ultra rares going to the very same district when someone posted. I just check the fishing posts on the other site.

Lastly, if you have 3-4 fishertoons online, each of you try different districts. If one of you catch an ultra rare, let the others know what district. Then boogie on over even if it's a differenyt PG an dtry your luck. It's also kinda nice to have someone to chat with. Play some loud music, snack, and stuff. Take a break and go CFO or help a little toon take some bldgs to break up the "mouse clicking" fatigue.

I think you have to fish almost every chance you get, (3-5 days a week), sometimes 100 buckets a day. It definitely pays to stay in one place if you start catching records (any sort). Seeing those green letters made my heart skip a beat, even when it wasn't a new species. I almost always caught an ultra rare after catching a bunch or records, even for the weirdest fish. Then again, I think if you fish long enough, odds are you'll exhaust all the records just because you caught sooo many fish.

I also alternate my casting, target a different dot each cast mostly for fun. Casting on the same dot over and over gave me the same old junky fish. Beans and Boots don't seem to mean a thing. Speed fishing, you can average a bucket every 130-150 secs. ~ 20-30 buckets/hour. Top toons often get >2000 fish = 100+ buckets.
Yikes!

KK, Tuesday's Fishing Clinic is over see ya in 2 weeks! Remember to wash your hands before you VP or CF.

Thanks LST. I am going to try that too. I have been fishing for the grizzly for a long time. I need 4 more fish. Of course, they are the ultra rare ones. Very Happy

Looks like Thelonious Monkey thought you had a great idea. After the race, I thought I'd go chat with him a few, he wasn't answering me. Finally, Thelonious says "My dad is paying me to fish for him." LOL

I suggested to her that she as for $1/bucket instead of $20/species. Seemed more fair to me.

Well, I joined the pay your kid to race and fish for you bandwagon tonight. We need to finalize the details, I got her to settle for $5 per racing trophy/new species, but I don't think that will last long. I'm going to negotiate an hourly fee tomorrow. So if you see Ricky on at an unusual time, it's her.

I watched her do 2 races this afternoon on her toon, she set course records both times LOL. She's been playing her toon for 2 weeks and has 16 racing trophies, I don't know how many species of fish although she's already got the all star. Ricky should be sporting 120 pretty soon with her at the helm. Wheeeeeee

My daughter is 9 and I'm paying her $2 an hour to race with me (and let me win!).
Maybe when she is home some days this summer, she'll fish for me at that rate too. This is great!

I punished Allie for something this weekend, and as part of the punishment I made her race with me to get Hissys first 10 trophies. I truely think she would have prefered being grounded!

I am going to have to change the way punishments are handled around here!!!!! I could get tons of hours from my 2 girls in just a week!!! Shocked The hourly rate for the racing wouldn't be bad either. Thanks for the parental suggestions Exclamation

I have to laff because Allie asked if she could race for me last night...no strings attached! I did not have to pay her or anything!

It was pretty funny though because she was racing and all of a sudden yelled "Hey! Someone named Nanner just told me I was insane!". I assured her that Nanner was actually calling me insane, not her. Several other people whispered to her, and when she signed off she told me that I have some really strange friends. ROFL

LOL poor kid! I was saying all kinds of things (G rated Mom)! Stuff like "Watch out for the banana" and "Quit hitting the wall" "Throw a pie now"! etc thinking it was you and just trying to bug the heck out of you while racing. Poor thing after about 6 or 8 comments finally said "Ummm this is Allie" Ooops! ROFL

Oh and BTW I'll pay any of your kids FIVE bucks an hour to race for me LOL!

My kid couldn't pay ME to let him touch my toon! The reason I have two accounts in the first place was over a fight we had after which he tried to delete Queen because he was mad at me! I only let it go that far because I knew I could get her back and I wanted to see if he'd really do it. He would have. At that time he didn't know the password though, and couldn't delete her, phew!

-He'd get bored and go do a boss battle and then I'd get banned from CCG
-He'd get distracted and go glitching
-He'd start begging all of you for help with (oh no, not merits or bux but) "will you just stand here while I TP to you so I can get this glitch to work?"
-He'd wander off and pick bad toontasks

You guys are lucky!
