Day 5-Thoughts on LBHQ
View Single PostView Single Post

How is everyone feeling about Law after 5 days? I tried off and on to beat the CJ and always ended up green in the playground. Was very frustrated with the lack of teamwork, the shuffling and what I felt was a way too difficult battle. Ended up spending most of my test time exploring the Law Libraries and helping smaller toons with tasks.

Decided to try it again this morning, since there were not many little griefers out yet. Did two random runs and we won both. The teamwork was excellent! I am feeling alot more optimistic about Law now.

How is everyone else doing? I know quite a few of you have had wins since the update. Have you been running strictly with friends, or random runs?

One thing I noticed yesterday, was that there almost always seemed to one one district with no one at the elevator. It wouldn't stay the same for very long, but I think if you had a group of toons ready to go and just kept checking that you could load fairly easily.

CJ was UNfun before, now its still not fun and they made it very tedious, especially considering the reward we get Rolling Eyes . Constantly pressing Insert key is carpal tunnel syndrome waiting to happen. I played really late yesterday, my friend asked to join them for CJ. We went CJ 5 times and to my great surprise we won all 5 times. We did not use unites. We had excellent stunners, 4 of them kept cogs stunned at ALL times rotating their trips to get more slips. 4 of us were throwing evidence at the scales, trying to rotate our trips back for the evidence too. I think great stunners determined our victories. What I cant understand is how the jury works... During one CJ battle we had 6 toons on the jury and we were given 24 slips. Next time we went we had 6 toons on the jury again, BUT got 22 slips. During another CJ we had only 1 toon on the jury and were still given 22 slips. The time we had 3 toons on the jury we received 23 slips. I am trying to figure out how does it work, but I cant find any pattern to it yet.

Also, I never saw the gavel directly in front of the CJ before - is that a new feature?

How strange! I played twice this morning and never saw it hit like that.

Yes, bizarre. It seems like only our group saw it. I spoke to several people yesterday (or should I say very early this morning) and nobody saw it. Test did not go down for the update, so I have no clue how this gavel got there.

I have to admit I do not care for the CJ battle at all. It's not just that it's hard - hard can be overcome - I think it is boring and the reward is largely useless. At least with VP and CFO the rewards are valuable. I do like the concept of calling cogs but I think it needs to be tweaked - in a MAJOR way IMO....I did put in those suggestions I had in another post and I suggest everyone else do that same. Report report report - make sure they see the potential problems and possible solutions NOW before it's too late!

I honestly don't see myself doing much in Law when it hits open if things don't change a LOT. Just not worth the time IMO!

I do like the libraries...that's where I have spent most of my time on test.

I quit even trying. After the update even on the very rare occassion that we've been able to load with friends I've ended up green every time. The frustration of trying to load with toons with decent laff, being unable to load with friends, the impossibly high scales...not fun one bit. I hate shuffling, but the few low laff toons we've managed to get through the cogs start screaming for tu's 5 seconds after we get to the last part and go sad shortly after leaving the team short every time. At any other boss battle I'll gladly go with anyone of any laff, but trying to test this one out is a nightmare for me. I understand losing is part of learning the battle but losing EVERY time is not fun for me.

I've gone in with some of the most excellent players I've ever met and still had no success since the update...I don't care about getting my suit up on test, but I honestly can't see taking the time to even work on it once it hits open. The reward is not a reward in my mind...what on earth would a RB50/HW50 need to summon a cog/building or invasion for? Even those who aren't 50's wouldn't be able to benefit from the invasions as they don't last long enough to double merits or bucks, I just don't see how this is a reward at all. At least the rewards you get from CFO and VP can be valuable.

And as Miss Chievous said, the battle is NOT fun...it's boring, tedious and repetitive. The only even semi-fun part is the cannons..but that's just my opinion. I was so excited for Law HQ to come out and I've been severely disappointed by their lack of imagination... Maybe after my trip this week I'll come back and I'll have a different view of things, but as of right now, I don't plan on bothering with the CJ anymore.

Im not real thrilled with any part of Law. The mint library things are ok but the CJ and the "reward" IMO stink. The battle is very tedious and zero fun. I don't see me ever summoning anything, the invasion might be ok if they lasted more than 30 sec. I just went in again to see if I liked it any better, nope surely didn't lol.

The only reward that I can see being worth anything is summoning a 5 story sell building! I did suggest it would be nice if we knew exactly what we were summoning. So far I have only seen 3 story bldgs, and those are not really too much use to most toons Sad

I was hesitant to be sure I thought it was just boring until I could beat it; I didn't want to sound like sour grapes. But it just isn't as FUN as CFO or VP whether you win or not. Some element is missing. Maybe I will start another thread on this==

All I can say is if Law hits open anything like they have it on test my toons will never get another laff point from Law.

I just wonder what is going on at Disney to put this out for advanced toons????

Now....my thoughts. This is not the final product. The one thought I have is in the VP you see the VP go over the edge and you know he is beaten. In the CFO you see the CFO get hit by a train and you know he is beaten. In Law he just leaves...there is no factor that he has been beaten. He leaves talking something about a mistrial. My hope is that they have not released the FUN part of Law yet and are working on getting this part bug free.

Guess we will stand back and see.

I think I'm the minority now. I am actually starting to sort of enjoy it. I also am hoping that they add something else to it, but am not real optimistic about that happening.

I liked it today when I tried. Only had 3 battles, 2 were wins (with sfs) and the random run with a few sfs we went sad. I did like that it seems beatable again with toons who know we need more then 2 cog stunners, ect. What I don't like is the reward or the elevator headache. I almost give up wanting to test this because I can not handle the elevator part.

My Sunday runs were not as successful as Saturday ones Sad I spent almost half of the day yesterday on test, but most of that time was spent playing elevator games. Arrrgh! Out of 7 tries I had 3 wins, 2 times I went with friends only and both times we won. All the 'sad' runs were with toons going sad when we almost had the scales down. When the group is left with 6 toons it just seems not possible to win. The scales remained tipped in our favor, almost there, but we just could not bring it all the way down - we ran out of laff.

I've emailed Disney again this morning. Maybe CJ IS too difficult if 6 toons can't finish the battle. Or maybe we were just doing something wrong?

Also, I wanted to ask what do you think about tooning up in CJ? It seems that when toons start tooning each other by throwing slips it almost always guarantees a loss. You can't recover fast enough from the damage done by the cogs. It's -6 vs +1, meanwhile cogs' scale goes higher because you are missing 2 toons.

LawHq? What's That? Razz

You took the words right out of my mouth -- "And as Miss Chievous said, the battle is NOT fun...it's boring, tedious and repetitive." As I have told others... It just hurts my hand to have to press the Insert key over and over and over for 45 to 60 minutes.

I have stayed away from it except to help with Library testing and some runs per request. I ended up doing CFO & VP and working my Other smaller toons and helping smaller toons. The shuffle should of been less over the weekend with the amount of smaller toons working their Tasks. Laughing

The Summoned Invasions are BAD... helping a "small" toon to get a key from the Mingler.... A 4 story Sell drops on Oak Street. First floor is good...then Bam! Penny Pincher Invasion. Tried to play as slow as possible but this one lasted longer than the normal 2 minute one. Rolling Eyes I thought it was BAD since 3 different times trying to Help toons (randoms standing by buildings) and while in the building the invasion starts. (note: this was aside from the Law-Skellie invasions).

Yes!!! Uncoordinated summoned invasions are verrrry bad. My friend's toon is in The Brrgh, she was not able to do her tasks lately because of random invasions. Can you imagine random invasions on open, with so much more toons?!?! Just a thought...you are on the 5th floor of a nice 5st Sell building in DDL with level 12 on the last floor. You have one cog standing - POOOF! flunkies invasion Shocked

CJ battle itself requires ultimate teamwork, not like CFO or VP where if you have couple of experienced toons you can win. I can't see 8 random toons in busy district doing CJ successfully time after time. What we see in CFO now will happen in CJ. People are fighting to get cranes. Same thing will happen in CJ, someone does not want to stun (too much work running back and forth, not as much fun as throwing at the scales - whatever is the reason) and the person will stay by the scales with 5 other people *sigh*

LOL! Just like Granny runs in to do the stomping no one likes to do I also run to do the cog stunning heehee. I must be all backwards or something. I like the cog stunning, seems like more action. And I keep thinking that with the scales it's pretty much a given what needs to be done. So I'd like to tinker with the cog stunning because I feel like we could find a better way to do it, so that's great to mess around with for me. However all that being said I still can't test it much because of the elevator headache.

I have gone to CJ just a few times. Obviously the very first few times was with all Bottom Feeders. I had not been on test as much the last few days because I had too many other things on my plate. I went to CJ again yesterday and this time went with high level suit toons. I believe that they adjust the level of difficulty based on your suit size and they also reduce the amout of evidence that you get from touching the witness stand. So...I am not 100% sure but that was my theory since I had not seen them until yesterday.

I think if Disney prevented others from using their summon invasions while an invasion is progress, that would work out much better. Something like "An invasion is currently taking place. Wait until the invasion is over before summoning an invasion" when they click the invasion button.
