I'm pulling this over from my blog, so it's just a repeat of what's there. But wanted to get this more visible. I 'd like to see others tips on running bullions as well:
2 Toon Bullions
Used to be I only did Coin Mints with my two toons Lady Googlebrains and Weirdo Wolfie. After posting asking if it was possible for the Dollar and Bullion Mints with 2 and getting an affirmative, I started running those as well. Turns out, even not using restocks (really!) it's totally doable.
What works with this pair of toons is that they both have Sound (I can eliminate 3 sets of cogs with it) and one having Drop (this makes a big difference) and ther other Trap.
These two person Bullion Mints aren't fast, and I do have to do alot of tooning up too, but it's handy since I always have some time early in the AM to run them and try to get Lady Googlebrains' bucks (she's on her first no laff point 8900.)
Since you never know what the restocks will be you need to be able to take out 8 sets of cogs (for the Bullion) with the gags you bring in. Here are some of the ways I economize on gags...
Those pesky sets of all 10s
Although I could use 2 waves of sound to eliminate these guys, that's not an optimal use of sound. Sound works best used on the mixed sets of 10s and 11s.
I also used to lure this bunch and pick them off that way too, but to really save gags here's my current favorite:
I use 2 elephants, then follow with a lure (I may use trap with this) and then use seltzer and a safe on cogs I know will get the lure bonus, and berry pie and a safe on the ones that won't.
The mixed 10s and 11s sets
My favorite approach with these is 2 fogs. Then have the toon hurt the most use elephant and the other one toon up. This takes out the 10s. If both toons are still down on laff, now use either a blue mag and a trap, or 2 10 dollar bills. Toon up as needed and use an aooga to take out the 11s. If only one toon is down don't bother with lure and toon up with one and sound with the other.
The all 11 groups
Depending on what I have for gags I use one of the following:
1 - Lure, then storm and firehose the right most, then small gags with pianos for the rest. This is always my first option when I have pianos on hand.
2 - Lure, the use storm and firehose on the right most and the last cog, use cake and cream pie on the middle 2.
(I'm sure once I get my darn TNT on Wolfie I'll be using that for the first 11 cog.)
General Tips:
- when 4 are lured, you always get the bonus on the right most cog, and then on the last single cog. You can never assume you get it on the other 2.
- Only the Robber Barons have attacks that hit multiple toons, the Loan Sharks and Money Bags do not. For this reason, I try to always eliminate the RBs first so that if things go wrong, only 1 toon gets hit. For this reason too, if I want to work a gag, I use a LS or MB, not a RB.
- Most know this, but a 10 that you will get lure bonus on can be taken out with 2 cream pies, so tapping the 10 first in a set or leave a 10 for last can allow you to avoid using your level 6 throw or squirt.
- I try to conserve my lures where possible to make sure between the two toons I have 3 goggles at the end. I always try first with the toon that has more than 1 pair so that if it fails, on the next round I use goggles on the toon that took the most damage, and toon up with the other toon.
I did a Bullion this morning using no restocks and still had 4 cakes when I got to the supervisor. There was one extra set of cogs I didn't bother with (usually I take those out too depending on the restocks.) I could have taken them, but didn't feel like it this morning (feeling lazy).
So if any of you have hesitated on doing it, give it a try. It will be even easier for me when I have Weirdo Wolfie maxed on Trap.
Have fun!

Wow, thank you so much. I've run 2 in Coin and Dollar but been too skeerd to try the Bullion. I've only had my other comp hooked up beside my main one for a few weeks, so I'm still learning how to not run into walls, lol. I always seem to get one turned around running the wrong way in there too, hehe. I hadn't thought of not using my fogs on the row of 10s, your way is a much better way to conserve gags! Thanks again!

That's awesome, Anna! I run my two toons alone in the Bullion a lot but never really thought about strategy. I just figure I'm lucky to get through without using a restock SOS. I do use the sound techniques and you for sure have to be prepared to take hits! Thanks for the tips, I look forward to going back in and checking it out

WOW!
I have never thought about that before.
I hate the bullion because it is super long.
