The way I do it is to go to this site http://imageshack.us/index.php and host it there. It will offer you several links to choose from to post here - I use the second one, thumbnail for forums. This will post a small pic that can be clicked on and viewed full screen. Hope this helps!

OK, I said I needed the idiots guide. I did what you said but how do you move the image to the web-site?

Oooh I love giving these directions cause it means I get to see more pictures!
- Start a post
- Scroll down to underneath where you would usually type your text, click the Browse button
- Browse to your picture and click Open. You should then see the path to the pic in the browse field.
- Click Host It (this will launch an ImageShack window)
- In the new ImageShack window, copy the URL that is found in the field "Thumbnail for Forums 1"
- Return to your post and paste the URL where you usually type text. It won't look like a picture here, that's OK
- Use Preview to verify that your picture shows up
- Submit!
Happy posting!
Lois
Brady, if you think the directions are clear enough, is there a place this could be stickied?

Thanks so much for this thread... I am going to print it and look at it tomorrow and try it myself.... I feel so silly asking how to do this stuff because everyone seems to know how to do it. I had some records and pics I wanted to post, but had no clue how to do it. I hit the F9 key to take the pics, but haven't found a "toontown folder." Will look into that as well. I seriously am not brain-dead... Just am new at doing these particular things on the computer. Thanks so much for helping us "slow" people out!!! I REALLY do appreciate it!!

Stickied by popular demand. This is the imageshack method. If you have another you like, add it to this thread. Also ask your questions here!

Maybe I can help you find your screenshots. I don't think Disney gives you the option to install toontown to any other location, so I thik this will appy to anyone:
Use your favorite method to view the contents of your hard drive, i.e. My computer
Once you see your computer, select your root drive (for most folks, this is the C: drive)
in the C: drive, select the "Program Files" folder
inside the "Program files" folder, select the folder named "Disney"
inside the "Disney" folder, you will see two folders "Toontown" and Toontown test" (If you have test installed).
All your screenshots are stored in the "Toontown" folder for toontown and the "Toontown Test" folder for test.
hope this helps

Hi Again! Silly you.... Saying if I had more questions to ask here??? I don't think you knew what you were getting into LOL. First, thank you for helping me to find the folder with the screenshots.... And BOY were there screenshots! Must have been atleast a kajillion of them! Holy Cow! Well, it gave me something to do when they shut TT last night... Anyway, now that I have cleaned that up, I have been reading and reading on here, but can't seem to figure out how to get a picture within the correct pixels and dimensions to put a picture in my toonfile. (The one I think I put into the Avatar so it appears under my name on the left side of my posts?) The screenshots, from what I could tell, were far too big. I looked in tech support and a few other places, but am not seeing it for some reason... Probably right under my nose... Can you guide this numbtard once again?

i clicked on a pic from within my own" my pics". Then i used the directional arrows to keep cropping it to within the guidelines. I guess it was just trial and error for me, there is probably a better way.Mine was just a headshot taken from a large screenshot.I wish you luck.

Here's what works for me and avatars
1. I use MS Paint (Programs, Accessories, Paint)
2. I copy/paste my pic into Paint, make whatever edits I want
Then I go one of two ways:
3A. I can move the already small picture to the upper left hand corner and adjust size to 100 by 100 (Image, Attributes, adjust to 100x100 pixels).
or
3B I can use Image, Stretch/Skew to make the pic 50% size, 10% size, etc. Checking Image/Attributes until I get under 100x100.
I love Paint. Play with it some as there are some funky tools in this minimally featured program.

Just a reminder to be sure you resize your pictures before posting them. A clickable thumbnail is great, but if you want it big, 640x480 is really the perfect size. Anything bigger messes up our pages and causes problems for anyone with a slow connection. If you need them to be BIGGEST, the clickable thumbnail is the best way to go - that way when we click we will be able to see it in all its glory. Thanks!!
