Okay, now I know I'm not the only one who gets annoyed by all these summons toons are wasting for fun!
I'm worried about:

Little Toons:
There laff is too small for some invasions
There toontasks are different
They dont know how to change districts

Me:
My toontasks
The fact that once i get in a building an invasion starts!

You:
Your toontasks
Your last nerve (its about to slip)

Oh, yeah, and occasion4 to ME!

I like the ongoing invasions and I like that most are in one or two (sometimes 3) districts. I have only once or twice been TPed to an Invasion district when I log in so I think would be rare. A 5 to 10 minute random invasion in other districts shouldn't really hurt the small toons and/or prevent them from completeing tasks. Now I would think differently if it was like test... only 2 or 3 districts and all of them with invasions (after invasion after invasion)..it was impossible to get your tasks done for big and small toons.

Have regular invasion districts are the best thing since sliced bread!! Never has getting your merits and bucks been easier!

An additional benefit to smaller toons, when the invasion is of smaller cogs they can safely train and get double gag experience!

And if the invasion is a problem, pop over to a less populated district call a few friends and have at.

I've gotten huge benefit from these invasions from my biggest to smallest toons, Woo hoo, keep 'em coming! (Oooh I should really start going to the CJ and get some myself!)

I agree on the invasion districts being the next best thing since sliced bread!! Even though I don't need merits for Princess Boo Boo anymore, I do need for the little toons, and have been using the invasions to help with building gags! I have gotten Cheese's Sell suit, I'm waiting for her to get a little bit bigger to actually VP though!

I voted incorrectly, as I enjoy the invasion districts. Lady G said it best. I've used invasions for both those purposes.

Polls like this need an option something like: I agree with Lady G

I thought invasions were terrible when LawHQ first came out on test. I was one of the first to note, along with several others, that they'd be a problem for toons working tasks. I blogged about this before I heard anyone else mention it. And on test that soon became a very real problem. I did like getting double merits, bucks, and (on my uber) gag experience, but when I got a reward that would let me summon an invasion, I decided not to use it because of how badly they were messing up people working tasks. At one point I figured the invasions would ruin open. People would be faced with too many invasions happening at inconvenient times, and after a while it would just be too much and they'd quit TT.

But the idea of specific invasion districts was *awesome*. It's made merits and bucks half the work they used to be and with the newly doubled fac merits my sell suit is growing way faster than I ever expected. And my new uber is building up his gags *way* faster than my test uber did. And if you're working tasks, it's easy enough to go to a non-invasion green district.

The only problem I see is for those new players who are trying to work tasks, get stuck in an invasion district, and don't know to TP out. But with Disney's load balancing it's extremely rare to sign in and land in an invasion district. It hasn't happened to me yet (yes, I've landed in a random invasion, but not a designated invasion district). I think the odds of someone landing there who also doesn't know to TP out are low enough that it's not a concern, especially compared to the benefits the invasion district(s) provide.

Nutty River is the big one (good luck getting in! It's almost always red. Nice to have a friend there who you can TP to) Nutty Summit being a close second. On weekends and school holidays it will spread a bit to other districts but not really enough to count on them.

thanks nanner! not even going to attempt nutty river, i doubt i'd be able to move even if i could get into it lol. i get SO bogged down in the busy districts. i end up doing a lot of solo work in green districts which wasn't too bad once my big toon could do level 4 buildings alone but her tuneup is pretty low as a result. my uber in training is finding it very frustrating indeed since she can't do much on her own yet. gonna attempt to get her into nutty summit to work those gags and just pray i don't get too bogged down.

Gosh, I have to agree that I love the invasion districts. The past week or so I've had an easier time getting into them... maybe everyone has fallen asleep eating turkey for a week? lol It makes life so much easier for my baby toons to get that gag experience. I take them in a building with one of my bigger toons, and you can really rack up the points. Getting merits, bux, and notices is soooo much easier with an invasion. I don't know how they keep going, tho. Loopy Rainbow Blubbersnooker has only received 3 invasions total in the CJ.

Invasions are good for getting new gags! Also, one time, there was a glad handler invasion and I was searching EVERYWHERE for them (for a toontask) and I was able to finish my toontask super quickly because of the invasion.

I wish there was a The Mingler invasion because I've been searching for them for like 3 days.

I do agree about the cog buildings though. I wish if we are inside a cog building, invasions shouldn't affect us.

I think cog invasions are great for getting new gags or boosting them. But I've had troubles with invasions when I don't want them. Example: I choose a Toontask to defeat 5 Spin Doctors and I cant because it's a Flunky invasion. That really ticks me off! Especially when I'm in a major district like Nutty River.

I think they should be limited. Or there should be just a few districts that don't allow really new toons in it, for the bigger toons to train gags.

Agreed, the main district as we know is nutty river, and i always try to get in there and there is countless amounts of invasions which is good for us 100 laff'ers because we need merits, bucks and so forth but when i started out on toontown a long time ago i had no idea what an invasion was so of course little toons that aren't much experienced go and fight oh lets say a level 5 and there 16 laff, you have no chance. So i think the invasions should be limited maybe one every half an hour, it may seem longer but the amount of times i have waited in a bullion for a invasion, its ridiculous and half the time the toons are to ignorant to wait.

First thing, Let me say Yippee Yee Hah Howdy to my friend Kevin whom I haven't howdied at since dust was young. Blessins, my friend, and how are you these days?

Now, on with the thread...

Open invasion districts are in my opinion, the best thing to hit ToonTown. They offer everyone - big laffers or low - the opportunity to speed_build gags. I agree with Kevin that I have never logged on and been dropped smack into the "River" district. I agree too, that it's unlikely someone new enough to lack teleporting understanding will bounce themselves into those districts. Certainly they will learn over time like we (I suppose) did, by friends telling friends telling etc.

After thinking about this, I came to the conclusion that low-laff toons are in the invasion districts because they TP'd to knowledgable friends. In that case they want to be there. If they change their mind about that, there's always the infallible "Alt+F4" function. A simple Log Out/Log ON will solve the problem. Who among us has not had to do this at one point or another being stuck, restarting to fix a lag problem, or ending a dance early? So those who want to avoid the invasions have the ability to go to a more quiet district, where certain buildings, cogs, or whatever can be hunted mercilessly and successfully.

Test though, with only the two districts, is a different matter. We who play there have all had trouble at one time or another getting through some of those tasks. In that realm, I'd have to agree that banging invasions one after the other is going to wreak havoc on some toons. However, we also know what test is and the limitations involved in playing there. Sooo...

I'd also say that toons who are popping off invasions are simply returning a favor someone else gave by helping them get merits, bux, gag points, etc. Those invasion summons are hard to come by and worked for with difficulty. I can't imagine toons popping them just for the sake of getting rid of them or making room for cog and building summons. No, the invasions don't bother me. What toasts my oats in not being able to get into the open invasion districts when I want to.

Reflections... I wish invasions doubled bean rewards.
Note to Polling authorities... I vote "C", none of the above. Sorry...
