No, if you enter a code for someone who is not already on your list, it will add them to your list as an SF. However, if either person has a full list, the code will not work, but it will still be used up and you'd need another code to try again after making room. Therefore it's usually a good idea to friend first, then use the code, avoiding the problem altogether. However, this means meeting in TT first which can be tricky, so sometimes people do simply give codes outside the game like this, and ensure they do have room before using them.

Please be aware that you should be extremely cautious when making SF with a complete stranger. You really have no idea who they are, or if they are who they say they are. Most people are perfectly safe, but the problem is predators know how to behave exactly the same way as anyone else. Therefore, no matter how well you think you know someone online, be careful about any information given.

Kids should let their parents know if they're making SF with people this way. Not to turn it into a problem, but simply because it's safer if it's in the open and everyone knows what's happening. Kids should also be aware that many adults will not make SF with kids. This is not because we don't like playing with kids, we do. It's for the protection of both the kids and the adults.

Kevin

You know that was an unfortunate misspelling of my cousin Willy Whatzit's name.
