My oppinion hasn't changed either on this. This should only be done on CCG runs for last loads that are short, if there's an empty spot at the end of the night with no takers...then bring in a 2nd. Otherwise noway do I agree with anyone doing this when there are plenty around to fill that spot on the elevator.

With all due respect, Betsy, I don't think your post at TTC reflects that opinion. I got a very different impression when I read it over there!

well, you just basically say that you have had nothing but good experiences with others running 2 toons, while here you say you in no way agree with it unless the load is short. I see you made another post, though, so that clears up my misunderstanding! Sorry!

I havve only had good experiences with it. And all of the experiences I've had with it have been on short loads lol so within the way I felt comfortable.
Edit to add my quote from TTC you are refering to~
Quote:
When the discussion was brought up last time, I remember because it was back when I first was taking Some Duck to VP often. I didn't want her on a short load because her chances were better with the most toons on an elevator. I would ask Big Bubbles Bananaberry, or others at the time I can't recall, if they could bring a 2nd toon along to help. I was always so thankful to them, and it had helped my ubers chances everytime.
Another thing I can remember from then was how concerned many were with doing short CFO runs. Although it's not so much these days an issue, a little while ago if there were only 6 for CFO left over most wouldn't take the risk to board. So in came the 2nd toon so that everyone would load up and not be so scared.
I have only had great experiences being teamed with someone running 2 in a boss battle.

I was talking through the whole post about requesting a 2nd toon on short loads, whether it be for Some Duck to get a better chance at VP with more toons on the elevator or for CFO last run and toons not boarding because they were to nervous to load with a short run.

I see that now but at first it just looked contradictory so I wanted to clear that up. Smile

I will admit to doing this just recently Embarassed It was not planned. I was actually trying to decide which toon to take as it was a last vp load/revenge run for ubers. We HAD a full load and my second toon was back by the door making sure we were set. One toon shuffled off without a word and headed to the door. We waited and asked for "One more?" without a response. I waited until the clock got low and pulled the second toon on (I also took a deep breath!) It went fine and I think this is the only time I would do this for CCG. The good for the group just out weighed the bad for sure in this instance.

Just a thought that is not exactly on topic but leans towards the "taking someone's spot" discussion - if we're going to say that a person running two toons at CCG runs is taking someone's spot, then doesn't that also apply to someone who brings their maxed toon to the run? The toon doesn't "need" the run - should the 50s all wait at the back until everyone else has loaded?

Pasted from TTC....is this getting way out of hand? How can anyone REALLY think this topic is in any way related to the above? Or to playing an uber, as someone said? I guess I have to throw up my hands here...I think people are just getting silly now.....do whatever the heck you want I guess!

I know I saw that comment and was left scratching my head trying to figure out what that even had to do with playing a uber.. There are many who like to read between the lines of our guidleines or make them out to mean something totally different than they are and that is what ends up causing problems..

Gee, does that mean any maxed toon has to wait now until everyone else has boarded? Rolling Eyes

Did anyone respond to the above TTC post? There is a difference between having ONE toon go and TWO. DUH!

On my last CCG which in fact was Terri`s first. The 50`s did actually stay at the back and we loaded with a very young/small team. I can only hope that they were waiting and could not get on the elevator because that VP was very hard for those of us who loaded.Anyway, It was good to have a challenging Vp after many as a 50!!

I've decided that this happens for a couple of reasons:

1. A good number of the larger suit toons enjoy the "pit scene" a lot longer than the smaller toons, they enter the lobby later, many times after the actual run time. When they get in there, the platform is swamped with toons, mostly small and middle suits, and the eles go off that way.

2. Many big suit toons stand back and watch for shuffle, waiting to push forward to pack the elevators.

3. I hate to admit this, but, on days that have been a challenge in RL you sometimes just want a smooth load, one free from gag workers, glitchers and strategy challenged toons. Your best bet to get one of these runs is to wait until the last few elevators. The other toons are usually so anxious to get on board that the only toons left in the end are old time CCG'ers.

What I do to counter this is push my toons through, to get onto the loads where I'm surrounded by small suits (and toons who really need help, yes, many times they are challenged not only in the gag department, but in the strategy department as well). I do this with big suit toons and my small suit toons. Probably the only time I don't is when I'm trying to load with a specific toon, either one who has asked for help, or one of my daughter's toons (yes, I'm guilty of semi-selecting my load).
