I can't believe I read through this entire thread looking for a better way to keep track of invasions while in the factory!

I'm keeping my old method... I turn on a kitchen timer (you know one of those little things you wind to the minute and it ticks down until zero, then makes a loud DING!). When the invasion starts I turn it to about 6 minutes and then I know when it dings that the invasion is about over so I either hurry up or slow down.

Please no one give my solution to Orville (or Crab) cuz I don't want to be the cause of any more marital unrest in the Orville household...I'm thinking he might decide to try this and yank the microwave out of the kitchen to use by his computer or worse...

I would like Crab E Dawg to STOP asking what's next! Confused

I have laundry to do. Y'all behave while I'm gone! Mad

HA! Like THAT is going to happen!

pssstttt....what does "behave" mean?

Yes, I can see it now. I'm in the mint with my two toons and Crazy O's two toons. His daughter has come in and taken his third toon out of the invasion district to play trolley games or some such. We just had to use tu which caused the bubbles over our heads to disappear. Rochelle just passed through the room and with a quick hug J's hat falls to the floor. He reaches for the Dr. Pepper but it's the wrong cup and he spits it at the screen (which may help to remove the sharpie, have you tried that? But I digress....). In an attempt to prevent further screen damage from the Dr. Pepper / chewing spit, the 3x5 cards are pushed aside and all mixed up - perhaps even chewed to bits by the handsome real Quigley. Oh no!! We are in trouble. In the words of Crab E Dawg, What's Next?!

My 100% tried and true tip is this: bring up my friends list and ask Keith. He will either tell you whether the invasion is on or off, or the invasion will end / begin just as you ask him! It's actually never failed me yet! Cool

Edited to add: Rochelle was not actually hugging him when the hat came off. She removed it to whack him thoroughly with it because HE doesn't care enough to wear his wedding ring and not only that, he is sitting there on his bum in front of the computer rather than being at the jewelers getting a new one, which would be a poor substitute for the real thing to be sure but at least would be a GESTURE!! Mad

I thought you were going to do laundry??????????

How about before you hit the super/foreman/clerk/whatever, you call one? If there's already an invasion on, it will tell you that you can't use it now because there's already an invasion on. And if it lets you, then you've got an invasion so you don't need to ask anymore now do you?

Of course, this strategy does rely on Keith having an invasion available to call.

This strategy also relies on HAVING an invasion to call! I don't think it works if you call one CC?

(is this my 3rd post in a row)?

I hate to bring this up again, but I usually ask Steve.
If he is not available, then I have this little rock my daughter painted to look like a ladybug.
Invasion off - ladybug on her back
Invasion on - ladybug happy

I do like the idea of asking Keith, though! Definitely will try that, too.
And, do we all agree that 5-6 minutes is about the time for most called invasions?
Do the higher level cog invasions (like ambulance chasers) last longer than lower ones (like Penny Pinchers)??

I just stood in the mint for 10 minutes waiting for one to start -- and all of a sudden it said the invasion was over! Of 4 of us, no one had seen one start in the first place! Keith -- where were you when I needed you most??? Crying or Very sad

I keep a pad of paper by my computer, and I write "inv" if there is an invasion. Then scratch it off when it is over. My hubby is going to think I am crazy when he finds my stash of used papers. lol!

That's hilarious, Megan!! I can just imagine the Post-Its I'd have if I did that, and the piles of crumbled papers! JAJA!

Have to say something similar happened to me and Nanner the other night in our fac. We spent a few minutes outside of the Center Silo, waiting for an invasion, the got the PSSST... Toons have saved the day again!

Does TIPS not work anymore? I loaded it up earlier today and even if I hit refresh it still showed last invasions 5 days ago. It would say invasion in Funnyfield. Jumped over there no invasion. Just curious.

No kidding, Lady Z! I mean, sheesh, we're tying to get merits/bux/notices and those toons just ruin everything!

Would there really be a need for TIPS now that we have invasion districts??

Never once did it have listed or say an invasion in either place.

I think so. I was using it to try to find invasions districts outside of the normal 2. They were full and after an hour of waiting to get in, I couldn't. I wanted to advance Brat's lure to goggles and max it before the run, but no luck.

It would seem the odds of having invasions in other districts would not be in anyone's favor. Sad

If you need help working Brat's gags, just give a shout. Smile
