First of all CONGRATS on taking that step to follow your big dream. I wouldn't have the guts (or the desire) to do your dream but I do try to follow dreams as much as I can. As for the risk. Heck you could go get your mail and be hit by a bus? When it's time it's time.

Have a BLAST!!!! Hopefully you'll be able to relax and enjoy every single second!

(good thing it's August. No JUNE bugs Very Happy)

Wow!!! Best Wishes for the time of your life!!! I don't think jumping out of a plane would be my thing, the older I get the more I have poblems with hieghts---about 13 years ago I had wanted to go parasailing while on vacation in Maui...never did it but I sure wish I had because I don't know if I would have the guts to do it now.

Glad to hear of people who are willing to Go For the Gold!!! Looking forward to seeing those pictures.

I would think, judging by PTT's lower level of sanity, they would call!

That sounds great! I went sky diving once in college and loved it, though I made sure that I was first out of the plane, I didn't want to see my friends do anything so silly as jump out of an airplane, parachute or not. I loved it and would have continued but the old problems of time and money came into play. Have a wonderful time.[b]

4 more days... 4 more days... 4 more days! I drove past the dropzone today so I could time how long it takes to get there from my place... good thing I did because I thought it was 30 minutes and it's actually closer to 40. On the way there, we got behind a tractor going 20 mph and I found it quite amusing that people were passing this tractor with a double yellow line on a curve and yet these are probably the same people that would call me crazy!

They may just have to push me out of the plane... not sure. Guess I'll find out. Wink Something tells me that as nervous as I'll be, it will just feel so right. I've been reading all the forums on a parachuting website and I've got so much information that I never would have even thought to ask my instructor about. You know, there is a 3pm CCG VP run on Saturday... while you are in there freeing Barnacle Bessie or *shudder* Clerk Will, think of me and how I am finally setting myself free!

If you are led to pray, please say a special one for me at about 3pm central time, which is when my airplane takes off. My husband and son will be on the ground taking pictures and probably wearing Depends. I will post pictures when I return.

Although I am not a "bible-thumping" person, I believe very much in the strength of prayer and the importance to do so. I just wanted you to know that reading about your impending dream-come-true, gave me absolute goosebumps and I felt more than compelled to say a prayer of thanks, not only on your behalf, but also for the fact that you have a husband supporting this dream of yours... Of course, even in prayer, I ramble on and on and stray off topic, so I believe I covered many other items that needed addressing as well at the same time... So maybe we will see More Jell-o Shots, more limbo contests.... Not only finding the perfect house, but getting it, kids making it through the night in the backyard, being home with family, knowing the difference from a can of Dr. Pepper to drink rather to spit in, clown up vs. clown down, being able to find past threads, thanks for getting the rare 60's flower skirt, for a kind soul who helps you through a random final 50 run, for room mates that come home when you need their help, for getting off grounded and back on TT with your friends, for the chance encounters in life whether online or face to face... For a home, food and clothing, for the love of friends and family, to ask for strength to carry on or thanks for it going "pretty good" for today.... and we cannot forget the Y Weeds that should just disappear, etc...Embarassed

Back on a Serious note, however, I am SO incredibly happy for you!!! I am looking VERY forward to hearing your report, (and seeing pics!), which I am confident will take place with your feet PHYSICALLY, firmly on the ground, but I bet you will still be SOARING at 4,000 feet in your heart and mind!!!!
BOOYA!!!

She said Central, which means 1pm Pacific, which, for counting down purposes, means... (removing socks and shoes to aid in counting...hmm, still not enough...accosting a few coworkers and wrestling off their socks and shoes as well)... just under 77 hours from the time I'm posting this.

Way cool! Dizzy T, 77 hours from now you'll be in the air! Flying!

Don't know if I'd ever actually do it myself, but I'm conceptually jealous.

Kevin

Not good, not good, NOT GOOD!

Yesterday I checked the weather forecast and Saturday said it was supposed to be 93 and sunny. Today the weather for Saturday says Partly Cloudy... Friday there are supposed to be T Storms (it is currently raining). Problem is, if it is too cloudy, I can't jump. Sad FAA prohibits people from jumping through clouds since you can't see where to steer and your radioman can't see you to give you directions. Regardless, my 6 hour jump course will take place on Saturday and it's possible I won't find out if I'm really jumping until it's time. Funny thing is, I FINALLY found a reason to be happy for Missouri's motto which is, "Welcome to Missouri. If you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes."

This just in...
Ironically, I just returned from picking my husband up from a 5 car pileup (not his fault). We aren't sure if he will get to go watch me jump on Saturday, but since he is safe and sound (just sore so far) we both found it amusing that he's been griefing me for the last few weeks about how I'm gonna break my leg doing this jump and then 3 days before it happens, HE gets in a car wreck! The fact that he walked away either means someone is already looking out for us, or it means that our luck was just cashed in. LOL.
