Gardening 101

Chapter 1 : How to get started?Chapter 2 : I got the Garden package now what!
Chapter 3 : Let's plant some flowers!
Chapter 4 : Let's plant some trees!
Chapter 5 : Flower Harvesting
Chapter 6 : Shovel Points
Chapter 7 : Watering Can points
Chapter 8 : When do I get Laff?
Chapter 9 : What beans combos for the different flowers?

Chapter 1 : How to get started?

You will be able to order your garden kit from your cattlelog. The cost of this kit is currently set at 50 jellybeans and will arrive shortly after ordering. Also, you will notice that the cattlelog contains statues that you may purchase once your gardening skill is higher.

Once the package arrives in your mailbox it will explain a little more about gardening and your tree locations, flower pots, wheelbarrow, and statue base will pop into view.

Chapter 2 : I got the Garden package now what!

Now you need to plant some flowers and decide which gag trees you want planted.

If you look at your sticker book you will notice a new page for gardening with a few different sections. On these pages you can tell how many shovel and watering can points you have. A list of flowers that you have picked and if you have any special gardening items.

[

As you can see this looks alot like the, sorry UBERS, fishing page. It has basically the same layout as the fishing page with the exception of the Specials page.

I will cover the tabs briefly.

The first tab is the Basket tab (pictured aboved) which allows you to see the flowers in your basket and also has your stats for Shovel and Watering Can points.

The next tab is Album tab and just like in Fishing this shows you all the flowers that you have picked up to that point.

Next is the Trophies tab which contain your gardening trophies you receive when growing 10, 20, 30, and 40 different flowers.

Finally the last tab is the Specials which will show your InstaGrow and Statues if purchased

Chapter 3 : Let's plant some flowers!

Ok now let's get our paws dirty!
Hmmmm! monkeys, ducks, and horses don't have paws do they?

Anyway, it's time to add some beauty to your toon estate and give your doodles something to eat and/or water!

Step up to YOUR flower box/pot and you will see this appear where the chat/speedchat is.

Just go right ahead and click on the PLANT button and you get....

Now you can either choose to figure out the beans to plant yourself OR you could scroll down to Chapter 9 where the beans and combo's are listed out for you. It's your choice! Once you plant something you will get a screen similar to this one.......

Ubers will be able to beautify their estates also because they can just plant one of each flower over and over again. Since the combo's only go to 8 you will never get the 10th flower to get that dreaded extra laff point.

OK, we got those flowers planted now lets go water each one of them once. Here is a picture of two flowers one watered and the other dry as a bone.

And what happens if your flowers/trees aren't watered? Well does THIS look familar?

Just give it a little water and it will spring back to life.

Finally, if this is after day one of planting don't foget to run around and top off your trees with a little water.

Flowers will grow at Midnight Pacific time NO MATTER WHEN planted. Woo hoo! I verified this by planting 5 minutes before midnight. NOTE: You will have to go back to playground and then back to estate to see the growth cycle!

If you need to remove a flower that you have planted then walk right up to the flower and click...

Chapter 4 : Let's plant some trees!

Now you need to decide which type/types of trees you want to plant. You have 8 locations to plant trees for your toon and NO you cannot pick from other toons trees. Little toons will more than likely broaden their tree base and then consolidate to one gag as they grow while bigger toons will probably go for one gag at a time.

Remember no matter what you plant you need the lower gag trees planted in order to have your higher gags active.

If you want that extra boost on your FOG you need to have ALL the lower sound gags planted and HEALTHY.

Currently it takes 3 days for a tree to mature and you will start to receive the bonus one day before the tree produces gags.

How do you tell if your bonus is active? That's a very good question and you will notice a change in your gag selection screen. I bet you can see it!

You can look below to see the added damage for the Organic Gag Bonus or you can calculate it yourself. Organic gags give a 10% increase in the gag's strength. Note that anything below 1 such as .3 will be rounded to one but once you are above 1 only round DOWN.

Note: These values are for gags that are maxxed for that level. If your gag isn't maxxed then the value may be a little lower.

Throw Gags
Level 1 +1
Level 2 +1
Level 3 +1
Level 4 +2 WILL destroy a lured level 5 with lure bonus
Level 5 +4
Level 6 +10 WILL destroy a lured level 11 with lure bonus

Squirt Gags
Level 1 +1 bonus
Level 2 +1 bonus
Level 3 +1 bonus
Level 4 +2 bonus
Level 5 +3 bonus
Level 6 +8 bonus

Trap Gags
Level 1 +1
Level 2 +2
Level 3 +3
Level 4 +5
Level 5 +7
Level 6 +18

Sound Gags
Level 1 sound +1
Level 2 sound +1
Level 3 sound +1
Level 4 sound +1
Level 5 sound +2
Level 6 sound +5

Drop Gags
Level 1 +1
Level 2 +1
Level 3 +3
Level 4 +4
Level 5 +6
Level 6 +17

Toon Up Gags
Level 1 +1
Level 2 +1
Level 3 +3
Level 4 +4
Level 5 +7
Level 6 +12

UBERS will be very interested in knowing the following and avoiding the dreaded MISS in Skele round of VP

Planting lure will increase the accuracy of it hitting the cogs.

Ok, now you have your trees planted let's get those things watered. I would advise watering the trees 8 times each as you never know when you're going to miss a day or two of being on TT.

Again trees grow at Midnight Pacific Time but it seems that gags don't sprout until after the time you planted them. I'm still verifying about the gags sprouting!

If you need to remove a tree that you have planted then walk right up to the tree and click...
Well, I haven't verified that so you may have to harvest gags first!

Chapter 5 : Flower Harvesting

My flowers grew now what do I do! Well walk right up to that flower and you'll see this box appear.

Click pick and you will see the following...!

After picking all the flowers walk up to the wheelbarrow and you'll see this. Again, it looks like fishing.....

Chapter 6 : Shovel Points

You earn a shoveling point for harvesting flowers and increasing your shovel points will allow you to plant flowers using multiple beans. After increasing in points for a bean combination you will no longer be able to earn points for bean combo's lower. This means that if you are able to plant 3 bean combo's you can grow one, two, and three bean flowers but you only EARN points for the three bean combo's.

Receive Tin shovel in Gardening Kit
One bean combo 0 - 40 shoveling points
Two bean combo 41 - 79 shoveling points
Receive BRONZE shovel
Three bean combo 80 - 159 shovling points
Four bean combo 160 - 239 shovling points
Receive Silver shovel
Five bean combo 240 - 399 shovling points
Six bean combo 400 - 559 shovling points
Receive Gold Shovel
Seven bean combo 560 - ?? shovling points
Eight bean combo ?? - ?? shovling points

It seems that TT will reset the values for the shovels to 0 when advancing.

Tin Shovel - One Bean: 0 - 40
Tin Shovel - Two Beans: 41 - 80
Bronze Shovel - Three Beans: 0 - 80
Bronze Shovel - Four Beans: 81 - 160
Silver Shovel - Five beans: 0 - ???
Silver Shovel - Six beans: ??? - ???
Gold Shovel - Seven beans: ??? - ???
Gold Shovel - Eight beans: ??? - ???

Remember to check your cattlelog every so often for statues that you may be able to purchase. This usually occurs after a shovel change. Pay close attention to what is said after buying the statue because it is important and it may be missed.

Atleast that Donald won't bug you or look like he REALLY shouldn't be piloting that boat!

Chapter 7 : Watering Can points

Each time you water a flower or tree that hasn't been watered fully you will receive a watering point.

Small Watering can 0 - 99 points Will keep plants watered 1/2 days per water
Medium Watering can 100 - 199 points Will keep plants watered 3/4 days per water
Large Watering can 200 - 699 points Will keep plants watered 5/6 days per water
Huge Watering can 700+ points Will keep plants watered 7/8 days per water

Currently you can water NEW plants:

Small Can - 5 times for credit
Medium Can - 3 times for credit
Large Can - 2 times for credit
Huge Can - 1 time for credit (not verified yet)

So if you water you plants 8 times with the HUGE watering can they will be healthy for 56 - 64 days. I need to verify this but I am guessing that Trees will be the lower of the days while flowers will be the higher amount.

Yes you CAN water your other toons' flowers/trees! You can even water your friends' when they are at thier estate. Notice the change in the box... no pick/plant

Chapter 8 : When do I get Laff?

You will gain a laff point when you grow 10, 20, 30, and 40 unique flowers. I find it easier to grow the different combo's of flowers the first day of planting and then plant all the same until the next combo is active. Maybe I'm just lazy!

TIP: If you accidently plant a flower that grows and you do not want to PICK the flower then allow the flower to wilt then REMOVE the flower.

Chapter 9 : Bean combo's?

WTG!!! Great job in bringing us a home grown guide to gardening. Gonna recheck all my trees. Question: in order to get the gag bonus, do all of the level trees for that certain gag have to be blooming? My problem is that I am watering them every day and some of the trees don't seem to be growing or even blooming.

Home grown! Shocked

The trees of the same gag track grown in stages. Now this gets complicated so bear with me

Plant all trees......

Level 1 tree grow, others do not.

Level 1 tree grows again, and level 2 tree grows, others do not

Level 1, 2, 3 tree's grow and other do not

Leve 1 tree matures, level 2, 3, 4 trees grow, and others do not.

and it keeps repeating where one tree matures and the next puny one will grow until they are all mature.

Using FOG as an example if you pick/kill/remove any tree below fog then that will elimate the bonus for that gag and anything above that gag. So removing the ele tree will cause your ele and fog bonus to be lost also.

Hope that answers the question. Very Happy

So, in other words...if I just leave the dang things alone other than watering them every day, I should eventually have all level trees for the gag track bearing fruit???

Thanks, Cool Winky! Smile Just a note to add to your awesome guide: once you reach the max on your watering can, you don't continue to get credit. However, that doesn't mean your flowers and trees don't need to be watered on a daily basis! Smile If you water them the max, 8 times per turn, then you have a few days grace before they start wilting.

What do you have to reach to be able to plant the 2 bean combos. It is so frustrating to only be able to plant the one bean flowers so far! I can attest that after a week of not logging onto test, your flowers will be very wilted but revive quickly on watering!

Once you have 40 shovel points (4 days worth of harvesting) you can plant 2 bean combos.
80 shovel points for 3 bean combos and you also get the bronze shovel at this level.

Just remember that when you are able to plant the higher combo's you DO NOT get credit for planting the lower ones.

The amount for the watering can is if the flowers and trees are watered once?? In my experience, I would always max water regardless. I haven't noticed a difference, really, between the small watering can and the huge one. *shrug*

Can anyone tell me why I wa not able to plant a tree with my small toon. She had 22/25 of her gags(went back to check at gag shop) she went to plant a tree and it would not let her do anything. She saw her gag page appear but this showed as her only having level 1 squirt and throw. Even by clicking on any possible gag option nothing happened. Any help welcome as I was gardening with my 6 year old and she was a sad toon.......

edited to say what a wally I was.....my 9 yr old son pointed out to me that I did not have any level 1 gags in my bag. On returning with 1 of every gag up to level 3 I proceeded to plant one of each. So for all those other wallys out there, make sure you have the gag in ur bag you wish to plant......easy really!

Six bean combo 400 - 559 shovling points

Seven bean combo 560 - ?? shovling points
Eight bean combo ?? - ?? shovling points

thanks-2 much for this wonderful guide.

Hope I don't mess up this question so bad that nobody can answer it, LOL. If so, just smack me in the head with a shovel.

I received 80 shovel points on Thursday, September 22nd. Once I hit that 80 I looked in my Shticker booker and it showed 0 (zero) to 160 shoveling points.

Today I planted my 6th set of the three bean combo (I can only plant 1, 2 or 3 bean combos).

My Shticker book now is at 50 into the 160 digging points. My question is: Does this mean I won't be able to plant 4 bean combo flowers until October 7th???? For that is when my shoveling skills will reach 160!!!

One more question: Should a picture of the Donald Statue remain in your Shticker book after you have placed it in your garden?

1- My shovel exp got reset to 0 also when I got to Bronze and started planting 3 bean combos. Either the guide is in error or we both have the same issue. If we don't see any 127 laff toons in 3 days, I will surmise that the guide is in error and each time you get a new shovel that your experience starts at 0. (Watering Can exp was the same way)

2- Once you buy a statue it is in your schticker book, once you plant it, it goes away from your "Specials" page.
If you still have a statue, it is because you bought more than one. You may have to dig up your old Donald, plant your new Donald to get rid of it in your Schticker book. Your cattellog doesn't indicate you have already purchased a statue. I guess Disney treats statues much like furniture or stuff vs doddle tricks, emotes, fishing poles and JB jars.

Happy Gardnering
