Uber Helper Clan, please post yer interest
View Single PostView Single Post

I was thinking of forming a Sellbot "Uber helper" group with the following purpose
1- Help build gags, run factories
2- Increase the likelihood of success for new Ubers and less than 25 laff Ubers
3- Run outside of CCG guidelines so we don't confuse new toons

Any interest?

Why am I motivated to do this?
- There are new Ubers, Ubers in Training who may not want to run in all Uber runs yet, could go sad a bunch in Randoms and could benefit from running with a group that had BIG toons as well as little ones. This is a way to build confidence and expereince.

- Test strategies for playing low laffers. As some know a single mistake can send an Uber to the PG. After playing a 15 laffer since end July I have some theories on when to lure, when to sound, when to go for the biggest cog 1st etc... I'd like to collect real data, stats on what works, what doesn't and why

- A few folks, once or twice a week who have big toons and Ubers will be far more efficient.

- While I may wrap up my "little project" by end of October mostly running randoms and CCG, I wouldn't want anyone to go thru all the stuff I've seen and get discouraged.

Proposed structure:
- Have a Big toon (helper) and an Uber. 2-4 Ubers run with 4-6 Big Toons. We take turns on when you bring your Uber
and when you bring your Big Toon. Maybe we do 2-3 runs in a day maybe 1-2 times a week. (+ revenge runs as needed)
- We coordinate thru SF chat to maximize when we use SOSes', sound etc...
- For example, when my Uber holds a Bessie, I am fine with 3 toons Fogging a group of 11's, I play my Bessie in case Fog Misses. OR.. If we are lucky after some victories we all win some Cog Miss or Toon Hits... we figure our when to use them.

Let me know what you think.

You know I'm always willing to help out. I could set aside a day a week for uber running/helping.

I've got some of my own theories

Actually, See Green Dog has had as much success going random as she has with CCG - a big part of it is luck, but a big part of it is being able to adapt to the strategies and gags of the toons you are with. Last night, Princess Ladybug Bageltoes managed to make it through a random VP with a very ragamuffin group - skeles had her sided with 30+, 40+ and 50+ laffers. None of the other toons had any gags above level 4. At least 2 of them were CCs as well, and I would venture to bet by their play that only 1 of them had another larger toon. With lots of speedchat direction, luck that they followed my direction (go ahead, call me bossy Laughing ), we all managed to dance. I'm sure it helped that Mousewife and Miss Informed were on that random elevator and sped things up a bit on their side at the skeles Razz .

Von Smelly Kat has hit the gardens and now need to build his gags and get his sell suit. I would be willing to help out with my big toons as well. He doesn't have a large friends list just because I haven't played him much and didn't want to take up space on others lists. Now that Trixie is maxed I let my Stinky cat out to play much more often and was dreading the random factory runs. He chose toon up and lure - would think such a stinky toon would have gone for sound but alas he tries to surprise those around him.

I'm willing to learn and help. I also have a new uber working gags so I am able to take advatage of all aspects. My problem would be timing. I play primarily after 9 CST, after I get my son to bed. Let me know the specifics.

Frustrated ubers - hah! I gotta get past the name game first....... Rolling Eyes

While I am waiting for my baby to get past her 2nd gags Very Happy Nanner would love to come and save you all (HA)! and learn. If you can teach my big toon how to play with ubers better it will teach me how to BE a better uber! If you need me just give a yell! (I can't promise to make good gag decisions all the time but I do have a great doodle and TU Razz)

You can add me to the list of helpers (Granny, Lady Mo Mo) and gag workers (Superstink), too, but I'm not sure if I can commit to a specific schedule.

I like the idea as well. I have some big toons, cfo ubers and am trying to raise two vp ubers. Don't know how committed I can be time-wise, but would love to help in one way or another.

There seems to be sufficient interest. WOOT!

I was thinking, (always a dangerous thing), of trying to do this one day during week (Wed or Thurs) and/or one day on weekend.

Kick it off next Wed Oct 4th, 6:30 PM PST, 9:30 PM EST. I'll post a district.
To get things started I'll bring QF (Max'ed no trap) and my Stinky cat. I'll run either one, or both depending on who shows up. Also I'll post codes for my toons

Thx- LST

Just an idea... How many of us have access to Teamspeak? Seems it would be easier than exchanging a bunch of codes.

Is it a free DL? Will it cause lag during the game? How many can use it at the same time?

I use Ventrilo and many can use it at the same time. It's easy to hear and free. Only drawback (although I like this) is you have to pick a button to use when you talk. Good cuz you can yell at the kids, hubby, eat or whatever and only let others hear what you want them to Very Happy

It's free. No lag. I have used it often. Separate rooms for chat. I was thinking she said maybe 100 can chat (and that's not gonna happen). So we are more than covered. Roxy posted somewhere in May how to download it........Heather should be able to tell us too. You can choose whether to use a button or hands free. I like buttons - yeah the kid thing..... Very Happy

Let me know the details. I can help with gag training or factories or whatever. I also have an eighteen laffer (not an uber, just an under achiever) who needs to work gags also.

DETAILS, "Nano Toons and Giga Toons"
View Single PostView Single Post

2 sessions a week:

WED : 6:45 PM PST (8:45 Central, 9:45 Eastern) I often don't get back home till ~6:30PM

SAT or SUN: 7 AM PST (~ 8-10 hr delta so ~ 5-7PM) for our friends across the pond)

Logistics:
I'll post a reminder 1 day before run time.
Indicate which toon(s) your are bringing (Uber, Helper, or both for you lucky multi-account players)
If you have a specific strategy you want to test out, describe it. (yeah yeah, Heather wants to bring her Barbie Magnet)

My helper toons:
LST MAX'ed no drop, (gardener)
QF MAX'ed no Trap, (i guess i need to finally get my wife's toon a key)
B'splat MAx'ed no Lure

My Ubers:
McToon: MAX'ed TU/Lure dude, poorly neglected
Fritz: my "little project"
Crazy BlackBerry: Uber? in training? Naw... an underachiever, probably cut from the same mold as Vanity

1st run.
I like to start out the opening cogs with hose/piano on the 12, I've had very high success with this.
If by chance you end up sided with no droppers, 2 MAX'ed clouds and a hose are quite nice. Had very good success with this as well. I've had lure + 2 cakes or lure + 1 cake, 2 pies miss.

From there, I kind of wing it. sound is OK, LLKR is OK up until I start seeing Level 11-12 cogs come out.
Then I often switch to kill (and I mean OVER KILL) the biggest cog 1st. 2 cakes, lure or Piano's and squirt with a single lure on the 12 etc... I have had 1 cake hit, 1 cake miss and gotten sent to PG multiple times by the level 12 in this scenario.

Pls post your suggestions.

Thanks - LST/Fritz
