Why do the CCG runs always leave early? |
LOL, good question! I absolutely refuse to go early and will stand alone if I have to until run time. I'm so glad that most of the folks around here wait too.

I won't even go in the door to a CCG run until the clock hits the actual minute. I suspect there would be less whining if others did the same. Seems to be the easiest runs are the ones that leave when they're supposed to - because the best players wait. I saw someone say once they would go in early to help the eager ones - not me, what does that teach? Nope, go in on time and see if there's a difference. Yeah, I'm kindof a stickler for time

I won't head out of the pit until the run's official time. Inside, I usually wait until the last few elevators unless I see ppl failing to pack on. Guess CCG leaving earlier is even a bigger pet peeve that TTF leaving late. Maybe ... maybe not... it's a toss up.

So should we have left on time? Even with people whispering to some in the group that they were indeed coming? We did not even have a full elevator. Would that make a difference? Not trying to start anything other than what I hope can be a healthy discussion.
In my opinion, the TTF runs have always been about 'friends' getting together to do runs with friends. Almost everyone has at least one other SF there. Many, Many times the extra wait has made it possible to communicate to the others how to pack the elevators. Most CCG runs I have been to have dozens of toons, so it makes sense to go in and just start packing the elevator at the appropriate time. On most of the nightly TTF runs a large group is like 10 to 12 people. If the fastest 8 just ran in and left, the few toons left might not be able to pull off a run, whereas, thanks to discussions among those there, we are able to split the group so that all may have a chance to go and at least half a chance to make it through. In this area, I give BIG KUDOS to Heather. When she is there she steps right up to the plate and tries to determine how we can get everybody in with the odd number of toons that are at most of these runs. (I must also add, in an attempt to not leave others out, that it is not always Heather that does this, she just comes to mind first as I can easily remember her doing this multiple times. (Yes, that is an awful wordy way to say, "Thanks, Heather!"
Am I totally wrong? Should we leave right when the big hand hits 12? I would not propose we sit there all night, either. Just interested in how others feel about this.
Never expecting anyone to wait, but glad when they have when I am running late,
Bill

K guys - I was mostly kidding. I am impatient and dislike standing around for lengthy periods. But it is a majority rules thing. If I get too impatient - that's my prob.

Well its my turn to apologize for trying to enter a boss run without bux I swear I went the other night and got bux to be ready - but I'm probably thinking obout going in to get bux before we went in our 2nd run with Bill. Sorry - hope you had enough on the run. And I got my merits for tomorrow night's vp!

I agree, Bill. This is about running with friends and doing our best to see that everyone dances. I admit, I'm guilty of being late to quite a few of these runs and am grateful the group waited so I could tagalong. We do allow a window and don't leave exactly on the hour. I understand that can be frustrating for some, but this isn't about keeping a strict schedule and watching the clock. Of course, I don't think we should wait around for thirty minutes either. Relax and remember, this is about having fun and running with friends.

Yup what's 5 min or so with friends? CCG is composed of quite a few "strangers" as well as friends so I would assume it's harder to communicate. With TTF you're right. More than likely at least one toon can talk to another who can talk to another...... When we were waiting the other night I didn't think it was a big deal at all. Just took my huge duck and tried to squish the little toons waiting. Yacked a little and tada....ready to go. Not sure about you guys but I come not so much for the run itself but for the fun....which includes the waiting before part. Be it ontime or not.

For me - fun is the bottom line. And whether it's fun changes on a run by run situation. I don't mind waiting a few minutes. I have waited more than 15 in the past - that wasn't fun. Sometimes I only have a limited time to play tt. On those nights, I do get impatient thinking how much of my time is standing around waiting. Ok - impatient doesn't mean mad or uptight. Just means I'd rather get on with it. I am a person that likes structure. That's probably why the CCG fits me so well. Again, it was just a offhand comment about something I have noticed. I don't expect anyone to change anything. I don't want anyone to change anything. Just have fun!
