Numa Numa is actually taken from a phrase in the original song Dragostea din Tei by the Romania/Moldovan pop band O-Zone. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragostea_din_Tei

If you do some digging, you can also find an English translation and version of the original song. Just be aware some words were changed to suit the flow of the music and lyrics and it is not a literal translation.

It became popular due to Gary Brolsma's internet video of himself lip-synching to the music, which is hilarious!

There are TONS of them! My son mass emailed me a bunch of links, each for the same Numa Numa video! LOL! He thought it was hilarious when my email notifier kept popping up with the junk he sent!
