Thanks for fixing my quote, I am still learning how to do things around this web site and that would be one thing that I have yet to figure out, obviously!!! LOL
I wasn't intending to accuse anyone of being cynical...just using one of his quotes, Rubberboots had used one in an earlier post and it was a hyperlink to where it came from so that is where I found that one. I thought that it was true, for myself included. Not as a rule but when we are cynical about something then it would appear at that moment we are lacking, depends on what the subject would be on what one would be lacking, perhaps compassion, perhaps sanity (I think I quite often lack the latter... ), maybe mercy or forgiveness...although there are those who are cynics as a profession, have run into plenty of those.
No I don't see any comments against the soldiers per se, I have wondered about what is written between the lines...I know that there are many people out there that don't support the reason that we are over there, that doesn't necessarily mean that they are not supporting the troops though...they may be supporting as much as they possibly can, and what one person can do might not be what another person can.
I never thought about the British troops and what they must have thought until you all brought that up, but really how would our troops feel if their commander in chief was praising another countries soldiers above his own, that could be very bad for morale. So yes, I agree with you its a good thing that it wasn't true...but on the other hand would it be bad if other countries felt the same way we did about our soldiers...I like that thought Lady Z!!!

Got this in an email this morning, normally I don't share these things because we have all, I'm sure, seen most of them. But this one was really nice and I don't recall seeing it before...
Web Page Name
ok, I inserted this and if you click on the place where it says web page name it will take you there, no clue why it doesn't say the name of the site..I typed it in...oh well, just click on the link.

....On the other hand you have someone like this guy in New Orleans, who was busted with $90,000 in his freezer and his response to that was something along the lines of "gee, how did THAT get there? ". HIS ad says "Last *I* heard, Americans are still innocent until proven guilty. So vote for me! My guess is that people will. It IS New Orleans, after all.
I can't wait till the election is over tomorrow. Crossing my fingers for lots of clear victories...God save us from runoffs. |
Just to let you know -- this guy DID get in a runoff!
Maybe the freezer fairy will come visit ME next!
