How have the new gags affected your playing style?

Now that the level 7 gags have been out for awhile, I'm curious. I don't really want to know what you think of them, but how you use them. What future possibilities do you see with these cool new toys in your pouch?

Do you find they alter your play in any way?
Do you find yourself now in gag-working mode after being maxed before?
Does it affect teamwork, in your opinion, if you or others are now working gags?
Do you freely use them or hoard them?

Also, it seems the first level 7 gags planted will be in bloom tomorrow (or within a few days). How do you think this will affect your play?

I've heard a lot of people saying different things about them, good and bad. I really don't want this to be a thread arguing about anything. Please share what you're thinking about how you will use the new gags.

I seem to hoard my level 7 gags... only using if I really need to use them or if I am really close to another one that is easy to get (like sound). I don't mind using other gags now in mints or factories... depending on the other toons. We used to just sound our way through. Now toons want to use trap or drop after the first sounding... works for me. It will be interesting to see how the organic level 7s work. I've been tempted to dig up Loopy Rainbow Blubbersnooker's sound for something else, but I will probably wait until she is through law hq.

As of yet, they have not affected my play any more than I took my 127 laffer in the mint the other day to work sound. I prefer to keep all of my gags at "0 to go!" so I have them IF I need them. So far, I have used them a grand total of 3 times. 1 singing cow the first day we had them cuz sound kept missing and we were all out of fog in cj and I just didn't feel like luring/hitting those last 4 12s. 1 presentation to keep a 15 laff alive. 1 wedding cake when people were babying my uber and it ticked me off... being soundless, I had no other way to kill every cog at once to show them I wasn't a baby.

Since my trees will bloom tomorrow and I have every tree planted between my 9 toons, I will probably use them once a day but no more. Let me point out that I will only use my ORGANIC gag once a day since I can pick it again the next day. Let me also point out that I don't mean I will DEFINITELY use my ONE organic gag each and every day. If there is just no reason for it, I simply won't use it.

Personally, I like the level 7 gags, but since I could lose them by going sad and I can't lose my sos cards, I still prefer SOS. Plus the fact that Dizzy can't drop Toontanic and Little Dizzy can't pull a train out of her pocket, but both can call Barnacle Bessie and Clerk Clara, sos is still more appealing. My level 7 gags are for emergency purposes, just like my sos.

Only two of my toons have used them and guess what??? Only once has any of my level 7 gags hit!!

Depends on my toons.

I use LVL7's in mints as I finish up on Bananasplat. Nice to have when someone disco's or you have a short load
and you can drop, cake, sound or squirt to try to get thru a mint before an invasion expires. Did alot of that of the weekend going from RB47-48 and now holding at RB49.

I use my LVL7 cake/cloud on Fritz as a last ditch to going sad. Again, I figure use it or lose it. All he does is VP so it takes him 5-6 VP's before he gets a new one. He has a cake tree, but it isn't in bloom yet. Soon he can VP daily with L7 throw. Till then he does his Scarlet O'hara routine and relies on the kindness of strangers or the strangness of kinders.

On my other toons SZD and QF I use them mostly for pure entertainment factor on friendly runs 4-5 toon Uber CFO's, or to finish off cogs in CJ/VP/CFO with CCG'ers. I love geysers, they are sooo fun!

On my main toon, he gets so little playing time, he hoards his LVL7's because he is just so stinky. He has yet to learn to share, entertain or play nice with others. I think that laff , maxed stuff went to his head. I'm taking him out to the woodshed.

When i was in the CJ i didnt use my last lure and it said i did?! It said congradulations-you got the new gag yadayadayada... But i didnt use it and no one else used it at all? It was scary b/c i thought after a while if you keep it too long maxxed it goes to get 500 points!!

I never really had a problem fighting and killing cogs before the lvl 7 gags, so I just keep the lvl 7 until the situation calls for it. Like if the group is in trouble and we are out of gags. Things like that. I see them as my emergency gags.

So I keep them at 0 to go.

I expected to be consciously working gags more, but I'm not. I find I really don't care about the new ones that much. If I use them at all, it's more for fun, with the exception of opera which comes in handy more as a regular gag.

My level 7 lure fails more often than not, hubby's does too and his is organic. I am very disappointed in the organic lure. We'll see how it does now that he can pick it every day.

I've used my level 7 gags in the following situations:

* to make a mint go faster when I wanted to get on to bed.

* in a 5 toon CJ where we all assumed we would go sad and lose them anyway. Rather than whine and leave we chose to give it our best shot, had a blast using the new gags and went on to win anyway.

* in small buildings in Donald's Dock hanging out with my kids. You should hear their squeals when the train hits the cogs!

I do work gags when running with friends in mints, etc. to some extent, but we tend to use more of a variety of gags anyway. I don't think my boss strategy has changed at all, though I have noticed others working gags in there without regard to to what others have chosen. I mean, I'm not opposed to dropping a piano in the right situation, but when the rest of us chose squirt and all you needed was a bottle to kill, the piano seems destined to miss! I've noticed that the cog rounds seem to take longer than they used to. Maybe this is why.

I planted throw on Z once I saw how nice a boosted cake was during a 4 man CFO, and the wedding cake is ready now. I'm not sure I'll use it any more often. At first I thought "how EASY this will make a 4 man battle" ....then I thought, "this is not what I'm looking for"....making it easier is not for me. I see myself using them more for fun or to speed up that last DA before bedtime.

I use my level 7 gags mostly in the CFOs/VPs...I will use them in the mints/factories also. Mostly I try to hang on to them, until I see that I have gotten all the points needed for the next, and I feel at liberty to use it.

I tend to use my level 7 gags when I have them. I like to use them about halfway or so to getting the next one.
I do find myself worrying more about working gags. It used to be that I would not worry about gag choices (like picking throw when another toon picks squirt). But, now I'm conscious that other toons may be wanting the gag points so I don't like to mess up their play. I used to always pick a different gag for a red, unlured cog to cover misses.

I'm glad Miss P planted drop because it is harder to work and I love that ship!!!

I do use them....especially when I am running with randoms in the da office I have noticed that they are often used as an apology (like when a toon trips the holocogs, they will whip out one of their level seven gags to assist in cog disposal)...I will also do the same. I have also used them in a four toon CJ (boy was that fun!) I have also found them useful in the da offices when one or two toons disco, when you run low on gags because everything is missing or when you just want to hurry up and get rid of the last set of cogs. By the way, I am one of those who hoardes unites and SOS cards (I only use them for friends or randoms that rock)

newbie to level 7 gags here:

I used ALL of Momma's Boy's lvl 7's in the Uber CFO last night (Thanks Gene, for the paitence) just to see the animations.

I can't really comment on when I would use them, but I would like to pose a question and make a statement.

The question: Does a unite fill up your level 7 gag? I realize that the situation would only exist if you have a level 7 gag when you filled your lvl 7 gag meter up (0 to go) and then used that level 7 gag, followed by a unite. Does anyone know?

The statement: The introduction of level 7 gags makes a solo much easier. I know that cogs scared me more in solo runs than the VP ever did. (still haven't done my CFO solo, lol) If the answer to the question posed above is that they will fill up you level 7 gag too, then the cogs/skeles in a solo just became trivial.

No, unites or SOS won't fill it up. Unless they plan to change that....but for now, no, they tested that.

I agree that they make (the cogs in) any solo trivial - well, MORE trivial I should say, even with only one (of each) per battle. Still an accomplishment...but not as much of one. Guess that's a cup half empty sort of attitude, lol...which I don't tend to have. But it IS the natural flip side of "Boy, these sure will make a solo easier!" I definitely don't see a four toon being a challenge if all of these are used, and I see a 2 toon being pretty much a cakewalk with smart use of these gags. I don't really intend to use them much even in those situations, other than just for fun.

Right now im maxxed in all my gags with the 7th gags with me so when i use one i automatically get one and have to get 500. I like the gags, but i think they should have made them like any other gag when you buy it at the stores. Now i try to get my things up when i used to not care b/c i had all of them. I think its a challenge but, what are you gona do?

I used every single one of Bananaswirls level 7s last week at uber CFO, but hey, I was celebrating.

On another note though, in test now level 7s DO NOT count towards the gags in your pouch. That means a full grown toon can now have as many as 86 gags (80 pouch + 6 level 7s), and a 3-track uber can actually have 33 gags with their 7s. I'll take that
