A night out
View Single PostView Single Post

As you can see by my posting stats, I am a little bit lazy in the posting department.
I expect a few of you have seen me about TT. Often in the company of Varmint.
I debated where to put this post and decided that this may be the best place, but then again I might be wrong.
On a rare evening night out tonight, rather than play TT I went to see The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. What a great evening out it was. The venue was The Blackheath Halls, which is situated just the other side of the common to Greenwich park. The park is the home of the Royal Observatory that is the home of GMT where the time is set for the whole world.
Upon returning home I had a quick search around on the net and came up with this www.ukuleleorchestra.com
If you would like to have a look around the site for a taster of what they are about I would suggest the Film Clips section.
If you like what you see there is also a post on youtube as well.
More good news is in the Live Show Dates section. They are crossing the pond to your dear land later this year.

I just thought I would share this with you, all for now

Chris, I bet it was a fun evening to see!! Looks like they have fun with what they do, and it spills out to the audience.
Thanks for sharing the link...I enjoyed watching them!

I think the choice of song just had to do with the humor that was used.

Same reason the Blues Brothers sang it! Confused

Too funny! That had to be a great show!

They should be playing at the gazebo in TTC...

Oh my! Your education definitely needs an update.
Blues Brothers are my fav. After I saw them doing a take-off on my daughter's Drake & Josh Disney show, I had to scrounge up a record for her to listen to the originals.

Yes, I also rented the first season of The Monkees and made her watch that. Don't let anyone say I'm neglecting my daughter's education Smile!

NO one is too YOUNG for the Blues Brothers. My 15 year old can quote it better than I can!

Q. Are you the police?
A: No, ma'am. We're musicians.

Q: What kind of music do you usually have here?
A: Oh, we got both kinds. We got country *and* western!

Police: Use of unnecessary violence in the apprehension of the Blues Brothers HAS been approved!
