Anyone else with V.P problems?
View Single PostView Single Post

Just checking to see if anyone else is getting booted from V.P.
As soon as we knock him off the cliff, we are all booted. So far 4 times. We are usually in Nutty River. I fill out the bug report every time but no response. GRRR!!! Evil or Very Mad

Thanks

Same problem in River but with the CJ. He says we won and then I crash out to the bug report page which I have filled out. I did get the rewards though. Have you been getting cards?

This was happening in Test the Sunday before the release of the new games to Open. The Brown Monkey VP run had one team make it and the second team got booted just like you described.

I got booted from the CFO right after he got crushed from the train. It was in Nutty Summit and I filled out a bug report. I went in a second time, but this time I didn't get booted. Hopefully they can fix this.

I was gonna try some VP's today so I'll let you know if I get booted. Maybe it's your drivers. Very Happy

The last time I did a VP (Friday...TTF run) I ALMOST got booted. Toons usuing bike horns on groups of lured cogs. Tune up on perfectly healthy toons while 12's were left to hit us. Doodles running all over the place. Spitting on lured 11's etc. It was :shutter: HORRIBLE! Luckily we all danced for some card I didn't bother to make room for!

Well, I've since done more and one time we were all running around for a long time before we opened the cage. Dippy's first VP and luckily it counted. Did another and I know two of us booted at the same time, but we still got the promo on that too. Guess it's the luck of the draw.

Just happened to me in a V.P run. Also happened recently in a C.F.O run recently and I sent a bug report and they told me it was a "latency problem." We'll see what they say this time!

Did someone edit these thingies or am I losing my mind?

Here's what they said to me 3 days ago - my drivers and latency lol

Dear Toontown Guest,

Thank you for your recent inquiry.

Based on the information you submitted to us in your bug report, it
appears that you may be experiencing some latency or "lag" in your
Internet connection. Latency is determined by the amount of time it
takes your computer to talk to the game server (commonly referred to as
a "ping"). This has nothing to do with bandwidth, so even the high end
broadband connections sometimes have latency problems. Latency is not
something that can easily be changed.

If you connect to the Internet through a proxy, that will greatly
increase your latency since first you need to talk to the proxy then the
proxy talks to the game server. If you are connecting through a proxy,
please try disabling your proxy or contact your network administrator
(or Internet Service Provider) for additional instructions on optimizing
your proxy configuration.

Through our experience, we have found that users that utilize high speed
Internet connections (DSL, cable modems, and satellite) often experience
less latency than those on dial-up connections. This may not be an
option for all of our users or you may already be on a broadband
connection, so another option is to keep your computer running smoothly.

One good way to do this is to free up as much RAM as possible. RAM
(memory) stands for Random Access Memory. Toontown requires at least
128MB (Megabytes) of RAM, but we recommend 192MB or more to get the best
experience. It is important for the RAM you have in your computer not
to be taken up by other programs. By closing other programs before
entering Toontown, you will free up more RAM to be used by the game.
You also can usually upgrade the amount of RAM in your computer
relatively easily. You can purchase and have RAM installed at your
favorite computer store or through your computer vendor.

Another way to improve the speed of your computer is to update your
video drivers. Disney's Toontown Online utilizes the latest 3-D
features of current video cards. It's helpful to stay current with your
video card's latest software drivers for optimum performance. Please
see your graphics card manufacturer for the latest video drivers for
your card.

It also appears that DirectX is causing some conflicts within your
system. We recommend that you update DirectX from the following website:

http://www.microsoft.com/directx

We hope this helps to resolve the problem you are experiencing and look
forward to seeing you in Disney's Toontown Online soon!

Thank You,

Bob

Classic about the RAM concidering the huge memory leaks with TT. Whenever I have to restart due to "latency or "lag"" I open my processes folder and TT is munching on about 300MB that needs clearing out. Plus I have cable, but no, it is still my fault. Rolling Eyes
