Anyone in Uk managed to do this? I have the beta invitation but can`t go any further as it only accepts USA credit card adresses. I need to enter details to confirm identity. Anyone got a way around it?

| Doctor Skids : | Yeah and I found their standards.
Minimum Requirements:
128 MB Video Memory (Mine has 64 and does just fine on both computers, 128 MB Video Memory is a bit steep)
2 GHZ Processor (This one is more acceptable, but I am still below on both at 1.6GHZ)
1 GB of ram (Yeah right, while it would be nice, I sure don't have that much)
The rest I have hehe. Have fun, unless I come into some money and get 2 more computers, I won't be playing hehe. |
Hey boss man....my processor is only 1.8 sumthin' But I have the other requirements....wonder if it isnt the video card that is more of the issue?
| Nanner : |
HA! Disney has standards? Wasn't the pink cat one of the first from here they let on?????
LOL @ different districts. Yeah we found them about a week ago. Not sure if us seeing them was new or if it was always there. During the last stress test (it's in 2 hours kiddies. Going to miss that one....shopping to do....hubbys money to spend ) there was only 2 but yesterday there was 4 or 5 that I saw. You can move from one to the other. Those of you with horrible lag might want to move to a lesser one....of course sometimes there are only like 4 people playing so you wouldn't get much battle help but it's good for going and getting your running around done and stuff. |
I didn't say what kind of standards As for the different districts, the lower populated servers have less lag but I get booted so many times (cuz I am usually testing out all the lil' features) I couldn't really tell you if it is better or not
Looking like we need some sort of hints thread on the quest or how to do this and that....

TO find the other so called "districts" (they are called "Seas" in POTCO) you can click the Map icon (or press M) to bring up your map. At the top of the map, you should see the server you are on. Usually it is the "6th Sea" or maybe even the "7th Sea". There is a little arrow thingy below it, that when you click on it, it brings down a list of "seas" that are available.
Right now they only have 4 seas. Recently just added 2. There were only 6th Sea and the 7th Sea. Now 4th and 5th Sea is available.
In regards to this stress test, I am still baffled as to why persons are excited about it. Stress test only means, high volume of users on at the same time. You are all complaining about the lag on other days, with less users. I am pretty sure you are gonna SCREAM lag, if you can even get on, during this stress test.
But have fun, if you can.

OMG LAGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!
Took me 15 minutes to log on and after 30 I was running in slow mo...
Figured out the district thingy.
Finally killed a guard- found plenty never killed them LOL.
Visited the govenor and I have a ship!
I plundered and went digging and did a couple of mercenary quests for beans oops mean gold.
I sailed my ship and then crashed when I tried to dock it.
It's like putting together a puzzle with no picture and moving at quarter speed to do it.

Same here. I got stuck trying to buy a cutlas - wouldn't let me buy it (yes I had money) or close out the screen. I just gave up. Lag was so awful too. If you see a lost tramp by the name of Emily Wildfury - please be nice because she is sooo confused!

You don't have to buy a cutlas....Orlando Bloom gives you one errrr whatever his pirate name is....unless you were upgrading???? If you get stuck talking to someone just hit tab. If you get to the point where nobody will give you a quest then it's time to make a new pirate :/
Sounds like my time spent wasting hubby's money was better than trying to stress? Did they delete all the pirates before it started?

I got my pass to test! I'm yet another trampy wench with thigh high boots named Amelia. I was on for a bit last night, the lag was so bad I never even found the blacksmith. I tried it on our "good" (read brand-spankin' new) computer, and the lag was still horrible.

I have a question about the visit to the blacksmith. Does the training ever end? WHen I get sick of it, I jump out of the little area and wander around the town aimlessly looking for the unnamed townsfolk (at least thats what it says to do). But when I logged back in yesterday it told me I had to go to the blacksmith again... Maybe I should trade my wench in for a better model.

Well, glad to see some of ya DID scream LAAAAAAAAG! lol
Surprisingly I got on during the stress test, about an hour and a half into it. Wasn't a whole lot of persons on. About 60 persons on each server. On saturday, was about 70+ on each server, which was a little worse.
I went back to the Dry Dock guy and got my ship Nanner!!! Seems all it took was a restart to get the quest going again.
Went to the Devil's island place thingy, got me my gun then went on to Tortuga. Discoed there, but will continue later.
I tried shooting a few navy ships, but they shot back. And they brought in more ships to come and attack my poor little ship! Aaaaah! Run!!!

Congrats on the ship! LOL I took my little low level ship and blew away some big guys....you need a good mate for that ship Price!
Now I can't log into the darn game! I haven't played since Saturday and it says something about ..... oops take that back. I restarted my computer and now it seems to be working. LOL if they think they're going to have this thing ready for the public in a month or less than I think they've been around too much pixie dust

yes it does end...you just have to go thru the tutorial and back to Will aka the "hot" Orlando Bloom He sends you on to Tia
LVTP...blacksmith is right across from where they start you out...the dock in the middle of town. Game gives you a "hint" (although it isnt a very obvious one) by shining a beam of light on the building you need to goto. Inside is the Will (i go there often )

i seemed to go forever too. Eventually your skill increases and you have to open something at the side. I just kept clicking. it gave me a page with an icon on that is an advanced swordplay move. When you have mastered this then Will sends you on your way. I then got slaughtered by some skeletons!!!

Well, I got my beta and made some pirates. First I made a wench named Grace something-or-other (generated name), I couldn't figure out how to get out of the dungeon with her. She just kept trying to get to the puppy that was in the dungeon with her. I think the brunette hair must be a dye job . Thinking I'd missed something important in the verbal directions, I x'd out and made Mark something-or-other (generated name). He found the stairs right away and is now aimlessly walking around trying to figure out where he's supposed to get blue prints from the Black Pearl. I'm sooooo confused! I occassionally run into a skeleton, but have no idea how to bring up a weapon to defeat him, so I just run away. I'm lost!
Anyone who has this figured out, I'd love to get on IM or voice chat. HELP!!!!!!!!!

Two quick/stupid questions... how do you log out of the game? I have to hit tab to bring up my menu/bar and then hit my "x" to close the screen. Also, districts?! Good grief... no wonder I couldn't meet up with Ginny earlier in the week! How do you figure out which district you are in? My trampy pirate "Lefty" right now, has to sink some navy ships and defeat some naval men... poor thing! I haven't gotten to play her very much, my toons made me feel guilty today... so they got playtime. Darned tt made LRB lose in the CJ and then Goliath in the VP, so I'm going a-pirating!
Oof...15 minutes of pirating and I kept getting attacked by these large wasps, bats and crabs... good grief! Couldn't even find a naval soldier to fight. Then couldn't figure out which direction to take my ship in. Finally my display driver crashed... that's never happened before! Cogs are looking safer to play with about now...
