Naming Your Toon
View Single PostView Single Post

I made a pig last night and wanted to use the name Kris P. Baykon and they keep rejecting it. Is it that offensive? Does anyone know the guidelines they use to accept or reject a toon name? I've re-submitted twice because I read someone's post about having a name rejected and they kept re-submitting until it finally took.

Are you using the period after P? If so, it won't approve it at all. Try it without.

They do break their own rules sometimes. I submitted Miss Lure a zillion times (even Lure Miss) but they didn't take it until I tried MissLure. Not even realizing that one of the rules was no capital letters in the middle of the word. I found out after. They took it. Go figure? Sometimes there is NO reason anyone can think of for a name rejection. (and then there are the obvious ones that get through....who knows)?

Always try different spellings, and even losing the caps or spaces. I got my son's toon name back when I ditched the space and caps.

That's strange since I have Squeak E Valentine and it was finally approved after I changed it from Squeak E. Valentine.

No, that means a capital letter in the middle of a WORD, not in the middle of the name! Example: SquEak

No explanation for how MissLure differs from that lol

Even if it is rejected sometimes it is well worth trying a few times. Major Lag took me a good 5 months of trying as often as 3 times a week and as little as once every 2 weeks. Finally after leaving it for about a month I decided to try one more time on New Year's eve and it was approved.

I know others have had similar experiences.

I took a few hours off from the computer, hopefully that helps my reading comprehension skills more. I am having one heck of a blonde day!!

Success! They finally accepted Kris P Bacon for my pig. No periods and I changed the spelling from Baykon to Bacon.

My main toon Bobo Funkymonkay was the result of over 2 weeks of submitting names daily. They were having a problem with Funkymonkey.. Think it was the funky part.. too close to something else..
But my girlfriends son's toon got his name approved the same day he submitted it.. A long tall pig named Link Sausage.

I don't believe there is any reason to their actions. Periods are accepted. First one I can think of is Mr. E. Meat.

I have had so many perfectly innocent names rejected - and then had accepted two nights ago on FIRST try a name I absolutley cannot believe they took.

Fahrenheit is in the list of doodle names, but it took me over three months to get Mr. Fahrenheit approved.

Temper Tim Purr spent months sitting at his estate nameless until I finally switched from Tim Purr Temper and it was aprroved in under 5 minutes. Go figure!

If you truly like a name - play with it and keep trying.

I (and friends) have had so many completely innocent names rejected multiple times that I've come to the conclusion they do it on purpose as a joke to see how persistent we are. Adding a little "fun" to their workday, so to speak. And the few times a name is accepted immediately it's because we lucked out and got someone who doesn't care for that brand of "fun", at least for the moment. And maybe someone with a sick sense of humor is accepting the outrageous names we see on the streets of TT - maybe taking bets on how long it lasts? I really can think of no other explanation. Confused

Only once have I ever given up on a name and it's because I could actually see where they might have a slight problem with it. It's taken over a month of trying every day to get it accepted sometimes. Hang in there if you really want the name!

Same way - I gave up on Sow R Grapes on my piggy. After several rejections - with and without the period - I finally removed a few letters on Grapes to see that there might actually be a problem with it. X'd the pig only to run into a few days later - Grape soda.

Better luck to the new pig in waiting - Bub L. Wrap. ( Hey, no one can resist bubble wrap! pray-2 )

Nothing worse than giving up on a name only to see it in the playground a few days later!! Mad A friend gave up on a really cute one that there was NO problem with. He had tried it in so many different ways and it was clear it was a no go! A few weeks after choosing a different name, bet you can guess what we saw - yup, a toon with the exact spelling he wanted in the first place. OOOOF!! Mad And that was not the only time....Mad

LOVE it too! Can we pop you?

That's how Rejected got her name (of course). I think I tried for a month or more with the first name. I really really didn't think they'd give me that one either but in one day it was approved. Go figure. Later I saw another Rejected in a PG and went to say HI I like your name....they stunk me........ (somewhere in this thread I probably already said this)? Too lazy to go look Razz

I tried and tried to get my first piggy named Honey Baked, various spellings, etc... it sat in review for what seemed like forever (about 3 days) then was rejected. Three days later.....I run into Honey Baked on the Playground, grrrr. It has to be a game for them. I also wonder if they have the "name committee" on weekends, why wouldn't you have people approving names on what has to be the BUSIEST time for TT?

I think the names are half the game some days.

My 5 year old has a toon and is learning to read... we see where this is headed don't we???

So he's on his toon yesterday then screams out "ewww" "grosss" "I'm running from this fight I want to log out mom please let me quit" (We don't allow quitting in a fight/building etc unless it's really necessary and justified).

I ask why and he said "Moooom that person named their toon after their pee pee! I don't want to play this game with them!" I look and on the screen was "Little Winkey".

The funny thing is late Saturday night I ran into 'Big Winkey" and hubby and I had a good laugh over it.

Now I know to most that is a harmless name, but to a kid who has been in a daycare/school environment has heard every nick name for the "pee pee" and when he read the name in game it really grossed him out and I had to coax him to change districts instead of logging out.

I prayed the rest of the time he was logged in that the other toon didn't change districts too. LOL

Hubby asked why in the world they allowed these two toon names when perfectly acceptable names were getting rejected. Of course I have no valid answer for him.

Not only does TT approve that name, it's created from the generator. Big Winky is (was?) a member here, although if memory serves he's since been castrated Shocked. There's Big, Little, Skinny, Fat and various other Winkies running around TT. Somewhere around here is a thread about all kinds of toon names we've seen that could hardly be considered G rated.
