Someone tipped me about port forwarding or triggering, I have no clue what this is or how to go about it also they told me to go to toontown central forum, i have yet to find that is there anybody out there that can help me i miss toontown the way it use to be 5 hrs of non stop fighting the cogs with my best buds. now i am lucky if i can get an hour. Somedays 15 minutes and this is very frustrating.............Please help me. Thanks Rosie Rufflegloop

Yup..it's me again. gonna try to find that port forwarding article.

http://www.toontowncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107418

FOUND IT! Go here and study up on it. Trust Me, this is worth your time if you love playing ToonTown. Also...find a parent, friend, co-worker, etc. to assist in the technical stuff if it seems out of your league. Good Luck!

Me too, Rosie!

I hope you get that disconnect problem fixed. It is very frustrating. As for my Red Mouse Avatar Toon....he is between Cog assignments while his friends......King and Queen Fuzzyfoot.....are living in the Cashbot Headquarters getting Cogbucks.

Here is a picture of King and Queen Fuzzyfoot. Keep your eyes peeled for us! If we see you, we will squash some Cogs together! Smile

Good Luck

-Matt

It's a manual.
View Single PostView Single Post

Port forwarding ......Oh my it's 52 pages long and it's all in computer language i don't understand, i wish there was just a fix it button to press and wham, all better. I'll have to take the book to my computer guy who fixes my modem when it's not working right to see if he can help me. I don't even know where to start and it's too boring to read. Laughing I'd rather sit with a romance or inspirational book to read. How ever will I get back to normal I want to help my friends play but I am too afaid to go into cash bot elevators, because now i'm noy sure I will make it through the whole fight. Is there another way that does not include a 52 page manual to read. I'll settle for anything......................please help meeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Can you tell i'm at my wits end. Miss Rosie Rufflegloop

Hi I will try to condense the many posts from TTC for you on port triggering.

I am assuming that you are playing through a router. If you aren't using a router you have some other issue that is causing your disconnects. In order to enable port triggering you need to go into the administrative account on your router. Open your web browser and type the following in the address bar 192.168.1.1. You should get a pop up box for your router. At this point you need to enter your user name and password (default settings on routers are username: administrator password: admin. This should be changed at some point since these defaults are well known)

Now all routers are a bit different, so your path to getting to port triggering might be totally different than mine (I have a linksys router) On my router, port triggering is in the application and gaming tab. Once you find port triggering you will need to make two entries. Under application you can type toontown or leave it blank. Enter 6112 and the starting port and 6112 as the ending port. Go to the next spot and type toontown or leave it blank and enter 6667 as the starting port and 6667 as the ending port. After you are done, save your settings and exit your router's configuration. (you can always double check your entries to make sure that the changes were saved by entering your router again and checking that your entries are there)

No matter what type of router you have, you should be able to find a ton of information for your router by doing a google search for your specific router model and port triggering (for example port triggering for a belkin router gave screen shots and complete info) Also, many router manufacturers have live chat and will assist you in enabling port triggering.

If this doesn't help or I have totally confused you, please post more information such as your router brand and model number. If you don't have a router, please let me know how you access the internet (dial up, dsl, cable, satellite) and the nature of your disconnects (going from the playground to a street, only in boss battles, when a cog does a razzle dazzle attack, etc)

Good luck Smile
