Someone mentioned to me that they could not load Toontown after upgrading to Windows Vista.
Anyone else get the new O/S and try TT??
I have a coupon to upgrade, but certainly won't do it if I can't play TT

I saw a post on TTC about this very thing....the OP said that someone on TTC helped them get it loaded after spending hours with tech support. No details of the issues/problems from what I saw/remember.

Well, that is not very encouraging!
I think it is mostly free but I really hate fooling around with Support (after all, that is my daytime job and I hate to be on the other side of the fence).

There is a thread on TTC with the following link to a video explaining how to install Toontown on a Vista machine.
http://media.putfile.com/Toontown-on-Vista
I haven't tried it since I don't have Vista yet. Good luck

I tried this and it didn't work. The web page couldn't be viewed. The newest version is sv1.0.27.6 if anyone has any luck, let me know.

I have Vista on my laptop. I followed TT directions about changing some security settings in explorer for TT. And everything worked out ok for me. I do know there are different versions of Vista, and depending on the version, you may not be able to play tt.
Here is the link to Disney's answer... Toontown Faq's
That is all I followed - no tech support or headaches.

I've also been able to get it to work using Disney's instructions but so far no luck on test. Anyone get that to work and what did you do different than open?

I hate Windows Vista. I got rid of it. It made my computer really slow....I switched back to Windows XP. But when I did have Vista I wasn't able to get in my house with all my toons except Goofo. I had to use my brothers or sisters computer if I wanted to get into my other toons houses. It exited TT when I entered the house and brought up a thing with your opertaing system. I wonder if it still does that. I'll have to check. I switched back to Windows XP a day ago actually.
I concerned TT people of it and they said they have to make Disney compatable with it or something...
When I first got Vista I couldn't get into TT either. My brother is a computer geek and knows everything about it. He did it for me so I don't know how to help you.

It depends on how much memory your computer has. I you have lower than 700MB of RAM than you should get Vista Home Basic. Anything like 1gig is good for premium. Ultimate is only for major memory capacity. Probably 3gig. I wanted Windows XP back because I didnt know this before I got it. XP makes my computer lag free on TT and anything I do.

Hello All!!!
I just got a laptop last week with Vista. It took me 4 days to get TT up and running. What helped me was some posts on other fan sites....such as toontask.com and toontowncentral.com.
Since I am computer illiterate, it was basically trial and error for me. It was VERY frustrating ...but, on the brighter side , I have been playing TT on my laptop for almost 3 whole days .
So far...so good

I used TT's tutorial that was linked to earlier... and the one on TTC [I think it was on TTC] and everything went exactly like it was supposed to, but I still whenever I went to play TT it goes to that download screen and dowloads like 10% and then takes me to an error screen.
Arg! I hate Vista!! Its so slow and annoying. Arg.
EDIT: I reset my options in IE because I realized I've been playing with them a little bit, and changed just the ones TT told me to... and now when I click Play it takes me to the page thats all, "Your trial runs out in 3 days" "Play Now!". And then I hit "Play Now" and it takes me to the front page; in a new window.
BLAH.

I have Vista.
I could not get it to download after a 1000000000 tries. Luckily, I had an old Toontown Disc, I installed it and it downloaded the patcher when I started it up.

I am attempting to make my moms laptop run ToonTown test, on Vista. I fixed it to work with ToonTown regular, but can't figure out how to get it to work with the test. It come up to some loading screen, and then gives her an unknown error. I have added http://play.test.toontown.com and https://account.test.toontown.com to the trusted sites under the security tab. Does she need to download the installer, like with ToonTown normal, or does anyone else have any ideas as to what to do?
Thanks (posting using her accoount).
