I couldn't believe this happened. It was so scary....I actually hugged Tigger in January there. Imagine if that was me. I saw it on Fox 29 News @ 10. It's a shocker isn't it?
I would think that there is ALOT more behind this story...I wonder what the kid did and/or said to the tigger...lets remember that we don't know if it is a male or female in that suit either and what kindof rude comment he could have made. I agree with silly bubbles...did he/she know the kid? Although it is still wrong no matter.
I saw the interview with the family on one of the national morning shows...this was a LONG time ago already. My cousin was down there at around Christmas, and it happened then. The family was really making it like the kid got hurt out of this. The boy was asked how he's feeling after the incident. He replied (I'm sure was told what to say...), that he is only feeling ok when he takes his medicine. (GIVE ME A BREAK! Tigger didn't hit him that hard, my kids horse around like that, and they don't require medicine.) I think the family will get a bit money hungry...
Ok, I DO agree, that Tigger shouldn't have hit/slapped him, even if they were just joking around. That's just not something that you'd do with guests at Disney.
This is very old news. It happened MONTHS ago, not a couple of weeks ago. The teenager was pulling on the back of Tiggers costume/headpiece. His father conveniently edited that portion out of his recording. He then pulled harder on it and Tigger defended himself. According to Tigger he told the teen to knock it off and the teen continued. If you watch closely you will see two things; the teen is obviously doing something behind Tigger and Tigger appears to almost lose his balance when he swings around. Not sure if this ever went to court. A lot of news shows and their talking heads agreed the kid was to blame. Tigger had an exemplary record until that day the obnoxious teenager appeared.
That's really, i'm not really sure what to call it, but I guess awkward. That would be really abnormal if that happened to you! I can't believe it! I agree with Silly Bubbles, maybe the Tigger knew that kid?

It did?! Oh wow! Well, this school year has gone by so quickly I can't remember dates. The year has felt like two days to me. Why is this year going by so fast!
The last time we were at Disneyland (3 years ago), we were sitting in the lobby of the Grand Californian. There was a group of late teens, early 20s. They were obviously being shown around. They sat with us and finally one boy burst out, "I'm in training to be GOOFY!" Then the others started telling us the character they were going to be.
They were all so squeaky clean. I asssume all the characters are like that, and based on the assumption didn't think Tigger would willy nilly hit a teenager.

I was thinking when I watched this when it was first posted, that there was clearly more to the story. Thanks for posting that!

It's funny, if you look at the father's mouth after he asks the kid how hard he was hit you can see him mouthing the word "hard" as the kid replies "pretty hard". Not that he was prompting him; like he was going over rehearsed/taught lines.
LOL, I hadn't noticed the mouth moving! But watching it again just now to see that, you can see that when Tigger turns to the boy, the boy stumbles...clearly he has a strong hold on Tigger. Lends even more strength to the story that the kid was pulling on him. It also doesn't look like the boy was "hit" at all, but rather pushed out of the way.
