I take my kids to see Arlo every year at EPCOT. They also go and jam with me to the Tunes of Davy Jones from the Monkee's!!!
Here's one for you Zippy...although its not just Davy...I used to just *swoon* over him when I was younger. Yes, youth is wasted on the young...they just don't know what to do with it.
Did you know Davy still does that little dance of his! What a cutie!
Now back to you fav Varmint channel!
I still love Davy Jones and that dance he does...wish I could see him too!!!...I think I have an old record of the Monkees here in my parents basement too...will have to check on that one. For those "young" ones...we had records before tapes, and CD's...oh and there are ever 8-tracks down there and some 45's...guess I am dating myself here...oh well, what was that you said about youth? Ah yes, wasted on the young.
Ok so I am a bit behind in my reading of posts. I see a 7 page with a title of Varmint and want to know what's up with Varmint. SO, being short on time, I skip the first 5 pages, read page 6 and 7..... Yu are all talking about Arlo, Davy and sunglasses??? Huh??? And I missed Nanner school so I don't know nutin about hidden box thingys!
I have over 700 digital pics and 4 rolls of film (yes - I still use film and like it better). I spent the weekend sorting the digital pics and reviewing them with family (including some extending family who were visiting)... we had one copy made of each digital pic. I also spent some time downloading them to the PC.
Some stats on the trip according to the car's computer:
-- 6678.0 miles
-- 374.8 gallons of gas
-- 17.8 miles per gallon
-- 52 miles per hour average
-- 127 hours and 42 minutes the engine ran ( I forgot the seconds).
Kids counted 17 different states.
We went around and never touched the states of Colordado, Nebraska, and Kansas.
Gone 3 weeks.
5 people in the car.
Stayed in Hotels - 4 nights out of 20 were with family and friends.
Ate 'out of cooler' once a day - Picnic
We kept a log of interesting items that we saw each day.
We did Laundry twice.
The family was still talking to each other when we got home....24 hours after being home we talked about leaving and going again.
Anyone have a good site to place / create a slide show? I won't put all of the pics in it....that is just crazy......

Crazy! Varmint remember this is you we are talking about ... so I guess you will be putting up all the pics. I don't think this tread well end until you do.
Trip sounds like a blast ... I'm hoping to do the same next summer. You'll have to give me some pointers.
Well, you skipped the best state and my home state Kansas so I don't need no stinking pics. JK of course. Sounds like a lot of pics to sort through. I know somewhere to make a slide show, but I'm thinking it's the not the best place for your pictures. My dad still insists on film too. Come to think of it the imageshack place has a slide show feature (maybe).
I guess since you have so many pictures that I can help you this week too. Welcome Back! Always nice to see your toons there bringing some beans.
Varmint, you probably know I LOVE doing slideshows!
If all you want is a basic one that shows the pictures, I use Photobucket. It's free, but I'm not sure you can make it so the general public can't see them, you'd have to check it out. You just put your pics on and then can view them one at a time or have it do a show. WARNING: When I put up 100 or so pics that had to be in order, it put them up in the opposite order I had put them, and was a HUGE pain to fix. So experiment with that first! Imageshack has one but I didn't care for it.
I wanted somethig nicer and set to music so I searched and found this: http://www.photodex.com/
It cost like 40 or 50 bucks and was a download program. It is really great, just don't move your pics to a different folder after you put them in a show if you're keeping the show on your hard drive! You can burn them to CD or DVD, or host them online. Here are my online shows, please check them out to see what you think! http://www.photodex.com/sharing/viewalbum.html?alb=0&bm=109937 (Have your sound up to hear the music!! And you can right click to see it in full screen.) I also have several shows of family pics that are password protected so the general public can't see them. You can't even see that they exist unless you have the password. One note about the shows already posted: I am still learning with each one I make. The last one I made (one of the private ones) I learned how to adjust the music to eliminate dead air between songs and to fade in and out. After the first couple I learned I could vary the effects between slides.
At the end of the school year I took all the pics taken by the Pre-K teacher and made a show using their favorite classroom songs, and burned a copy for every child. They really loved it! And it's fun to do - for me, anyway.
BTW I'm sure you know you can get them to make a CD of your film pics when you get it developed. Around here it costs a couple of bucks extra. Then you can put them in your slideshow.
Hope that helps! Glad you had fun!
Edit - I love actual pics too but the time, mess and expense of scrapbooking did NOT appeal to me at all, although I did make a really nice one of our first cruise. This is great because you can sit down whenever you have a few minutes, and just save it when you're done. And other family members enjoy helping me out, suggesting songs, etc.
You can do a search, too, and find a site which works for you. Imageshack does have one and it's okay. Photobucket's is better. Can't wait to see them!!
700 digital pictures! Wow, Varmint. Lots of traveling too. I can never do that. I get car sick if I'm in a car for more than 4 hours. Unless I fall asleep in the beginning. Sounds like you had a very wonderful time.
WOO HOO!!! Sounds like a great vacation!! Can't believe the family was ready to do it again already!! Heehee! Thanks for sharing Varmint, and still waiting on the pictures.....HURRY UP ALREADY!!
