I try not to speculate to much about what will happen. All I know is I'll be sitting on the beach reading it listening to the ocean. I need to find a little light so I can sneak out, read, and watch the sunset over the ocean. Ahhh, I can't wait.

First of all, I have to tell you all that I've enjoyed reading ya'lls ideas on the coming book. I love seeing what other people think of these books.
Next, I watched the newest JK Rowling interview... there is a link on the mugglenet.com website, but the language from the host (who actually is quite funny) is such that I won't let my 9 year olds watch it. Very good interview for adults, tho. She says that more than 2 characters will die in the final book... there are just 2 characters that she thought would live and they don't survive the final book... rather a blood bath Rowling says. I'm looking forward to and dreading this last book...

Rowling said "a blood bath" then "no not really but a lot more than two die" or something along those lines. She said that the story ends for Harry so no more Harry Potter books. But she won't say that she might not want to enter the magical world again in 10+ years. I'm actually not as excited about the book after reading interviews and watching this one. Rather dreading it a bit now.

She didn't say Harry would die, but after that interview, I'm worried about him. I'm pretty sure Voldemort won't win, but now I'm wondering about the people who think Harry will sacrifice himself to completely destroy Voldemort. I'm really really hoping that is wrong and Harry will survive, have a long life, be Minister of Magic and have 12 kids... as Sybill once predicted.

| Loopy_Rainbow : | Very nice to have a sibling to enjoy the series with! My sister is coming over w/ her kiddos the weekend of the book release. (Helps that my daughters chose to have a Harry Potter bday party this year... it will be on Sunday). We are always sending each other links since we don't live close enough to argue about the series in real life.
I've read that 2 major characters will die in the final book. I can see one of them being Harry, but I'm hoping not. It would ruin the series for me. One is definitely Voldemort. I'm trying to find her interview with the bbc online... I think it was supposed to air in the UK tonight.

My money is on Hermione or Ron. Or maybe even both. We've seen Ron sacrifice himself before (SS chess game anyone?) so Harry could move on to the end of the puzzle, and so far, Hermione has just been far too lucky. Her smarts are going to get her into trouble, and she'll run into something, be overconfident, and wind up hurt or worse. Ginny and Neville are also good choices for tragic deaths. Neville may finally find some backbone (bless him) then bite it, and of course Ginny is the love interest of our hero, Moldy will of course use this info and get to Harry (he's also done this before through Sirius, and let's face it Harry really isn't any better with Occlumency).
JK did however say that the Harry Potter series would only be 7 books long. She may spin off though. Same world different characters. I would like to see that. Please, please JK, don't sell out.

Snape is a jerk, but he's a good guy. How many times did he have the opportunity that he could have caused Harry's death - lots and lots. How many times did he save Harry, again, lots. Even from book one at the Quidditch match when Quirell was trying to knock Harry off the broom. They had assumed that when they saw Snape mumbling that he was doing it, but it was Quirell and Snape was trying to help. I'm not even 100% sure that Snape really hates Harry. There's a possibility, however slim, that Snape is acting in his visciousness towards Harry in order to keep up a double agent kinda thing with Voldemort.
I'm 99.99% sure that Snape is loyal to Dumbledore and that Dumbledore isn't dead. If Snape had let Malfoy use the curse, Dumbledor WOULD have been dead. Snape intervened with their emergency plan and saved Dumbledor's life. Where he's at or how he will come back, I have no clue.
As for who dies? *shrug* guess I'll have to wait and see . . .

I that would be awesome that dumbledore isn't dead. Then he would convince everyone to join with him and go on a search for He-who-must-not-be-named.
