Hi all,
My daughter is at the World Scout Jamboree. Are there any other friends, brothers or sisters of contingents out there. If so let me know.

Oh cool! One of the members of my Boy Scout Troop 237, is out there now. I was at the National Scout Jamboree, but I couldn't go to the World one. Jamboree's are defenitely fun! Is she in a girl scout troop or a venturing crew?

How awesome that she can be there! I hoped my son would go to the National one but he was unable to (the other Boy Scout was too young at the time. Maybe next time for him!).

We went up to the Jamboree as a day visitor today. It was AWESOME.
Here is the entrance to the site with my youngest daughter. She is not old enough to go. Maybe in 4 years she can go to the next one.
I liked the fact that the UK and the US flags were side by side.
We talked to scouts from all over the world including the US. But I cannot remember what unit they were from. They had a scorpion badge on their shirt.
This is the stage where the scouts put on a show for the visitors, it lasted about an hour.
We did not manage to find my eldest daughter (the one at Jambo) Guess she had more important things to do. LOL
But as soon as we arrived we bumped into a guy that lives just around the corner. How strange is that. There is only 40.000 people there and we bumped into him.
My daughter is 16 so is in what is called Explorers in the UK. The troop is mixed boys and girls. Although we also have the Girl Guides here. A lot of the girls choose to join the scouts. Cant think why?????
I wish I was young again

We have Explorers here too. It is part of the Boy Scouts (BSA) but it's co-ed. I think the GSA tends to lose members to Explorers too, hmmm...
Awesome pics, thanks for posting! I wouldn't take money to be young again but I love watching my kids grow up.

I was a cub scout a long, long time ago. I dropped out 'cause I thought it was too boring.

Oh, I've heard of Explorers too, but they're not too common around where I live.
