Barry Bonds have 754 home runs. He needs 1 more and he will tie Hank Aaron's home run record of 755.

I hope Barry Bonds shouldn't be the home run king because there is proof that he took steroids. What do you think?

I don't get into the politics of baseball or things of that nature, but when Mark McGuire was going for the record he got, the same crap came out.

When he does tie the record, what should happen is what has happened in the past to other great players that were better and for no "real" or substantial reason (Roger Maris being my main example)...put an astrik (*) next to his name. He shouldn't have the title because of the whole controversy, without that * there. My 2 Cents

There is no point hoping he won't be the Home Run King, because he is... He's only one away. If the Giants weren't my favorite team, I wouldn't want him to get the record, but I actually want him to get it. Not that I approve of sterroids, or anything. I've been recording all the Giants games for a week, and am going to the game on Thursday. Let's go Giants!

It kindof sucks that they do that, but in the end their bodies (when they are old) will pay for the abuse that they have done to it...and steriods are obviously not healthy. So many people cheat out there its not going to stop...and the definition of cheating varies by person also...but lets follow the rules, they are in place for a reason.

I totally agree with you, Goofo.

I agree with both of you. He should be banned from baseball, as well as half the players from tons of sports. Professional sports are starting to stink.

Bonds told a U.S. grand jury that he used undetectable steroids known as "the cream" and "the clear," which he received from personal trainer Greg Anderson during the 2003 season. According to Bonds, the trainer told him the substances were the nutritional supplement flaxseed oil and a pain-relieving balm for the player's arthritis.

That is what is actually on record. There are a lot of rumors but I can't substantiate them Smile

I said what I said, because honestly I pay little attention to these so called "Heroes" of sports. Heroes that get paid millions to be there, will almost always let you down. I look more to those that lead well when money isn't what's on their mind, like soldiers. Anyhow, did he get there yet? lol

Another at bat passed without a Bonds home run. The centerfielder made a diving stop. It wasn't going to be a home run anyway though.

I totally agree with you. However, managers, trainers and "owners" encourage use and really go out of their way to come up with ways to take hormones and substances that won't be detected. It makes it very difficult for the professional athlete to compete with those who are using.

It's not too different from show business and all the distorted body images that go with that. In the city where I live, teenage girls who wear a size 3 are told that they need to lose weight to be in print or on TV. Then, everyone acts all shocked if someone has an eating disorder. Confused
