Why bother reporting a bug?!?
View Single PostView Single Post

I see an e-mail from TT and get all excited thinking FINALLY I get a test account - nah dumbo, it's because you reported a bug earlier. Yup, when I talk to myself a put myself down lol.

So my report to them:

I was sending gifts through my cattlelog when the game suddenly closed
out on me.

Their response to me:

Thank you for your recent bug report.

Unfortunately Toontown is not yet compatible with Microsoft Windows
Vista. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

If you are a current Toontown subscriber, please contact Customer
Service at 888.332.1626 to discuss an extension on your current
subscription.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Um, wha? Yes, I use Vista, but I've been successfully using TT for two months now, so obviously it's not a Vista issue. At least I wasn't told to update my drivers.

Yup whenever I would report something with Vista that was the standard reply. (on open) Even issues I knew others where having who were using XP. I still report them. Maybe by the time they "fix" the Vista issue they'll take these things and work with them? Uggggg if my sound doesn't get fixed I may have to go back to Vista when and if that ever happens.......was told today maybe January??? (Vista compatable)

Thats really stupid. I had never reported a bug and now it was a waste of my time if I did.

It just happened to me AGAIN! I sent in ANOTHER report and stated I've used Vista just fine for 2 months now, so Vista is not the problem.

I'm going to attempt to set up my kids PC in his room, and in testing it out I'll try to gift again and see what happens.

I used to have Windows Vista. I had many problems:

-Not able to go inside house with all toons except Goofo (That stank)
-Couldn't buy furniture

I switched back to Windows XP. I couldn't take it! I sent multiple reports, but the answer was "Windows Vista is not yet compatible with Toontown". I wasn't able to go on the phone with Goofo after a month of having Vista. So maybe the problem is Vista, but I'm not completely sure....

I may be jinxing myself, but... I have Vista on my laptop and have had virtually no problems running tt. I do sometimes have speed issues, but this has been due to the router and/or our cable modem. Not sure that I a doing anything differently than anyone else - just one of those hit or miss things? I do have some issues with the ttf site on the vista machine - it neve logs me in automatically even though Ihave checked the little check mark. Figure its just another of those annoying security "features."

I probably would have kept Vista if I could have gotten on test with it. Never did figure that one out. QMM did you put TTF on your "this place is ok so leave it alone" list? Being that my laptop is new switching from Vista to XP was/is a major pain. My sound card isn't compatable so I have no sound on here. Many things that I should be able to do (settings etc) I can't since most of the stuff in here wasn't made for XP. I guess it's pick our poison. Anyone know how to get test to work on Vista????????

Vomit Razz I wondered that too....not like Disney couldn't work on this even before Vista came out.....then again they're fixing that memory thingy "in an upcoming patch" so ya never know......

Goofo I never had any of those problems! Just bad lag after a few boss battles on open. (worse than my old XP machine) That was about it after I finally figured out how to get the darn thing to even work with TT.

I had bad lag after boss battles as well. The problems I had really stank. I would have to use a different computer to order furniture. Rolling Eyes

I've never had Vista and I'm glad. I know people who do and they hate it. They say its a big problem and is nothing like windows XP. It's also very hard to change back to Windows XP after having Vista. So beware of vista!

Nanner - I don't know about test since I am not one of the chosen ones. But, yes, I put tt in the this place is ok so leave it alone thingy. I have also had to set some router settings to allow tt - but that was for the xp laptop too. What kind of pc do you have Nanner? What is the graphics card? Disney has something against the integrated kind, so on the laptop I did make sure we got a better graphics card. Mine is a NVIDIA GeForce which I think disney listed as one of the ones they are compatible with. Not sure why other games are compatible with almost all graphics cards, but not disney. Confused

Now that we have had Time Warner in for another visit with another modem, speed problems and lag a thing of the past. I hope it stays that way. We did get a ups power back up gizmo since Time Warner blamed power surges for the loss of so many modems. But I digress...
