Disconnected and yelled at Sad
View Single PostView Single Post

Today I finally got a sellbot factory run going and it was going well when I get dumped out of the game because my son upstairs hit "play" instead of loggin in with his acct first. So I get back in but I'm no longer in the factory run, but I get whispers from someone that WAS in it saying "You stink" over and over. I tried to message back that I was sorry, had to leave unexpectedly, but I kept getting "You stink"/ I tried to pick a different phrase but could no longer message him, buttons where grey but he was still messaging me. How do I put someone like that on ignore so I don't get harrassed anymore? And what is the standard phrase for explaining that you got disconnected rather than abandoning the group on purpose???

thanks!

I don't know how to put someone on "ignore" so someone else will have to answer that question. Mr. Green

I don't think they have a standard phrase for explaining getting disconnected. Sad I wish they did though, but I guess for now we'll just have to use the phrase, "Sorry, I had to leave unexpectedly" and hope that the toon will understand what happened. Sad Sorry about that!

Kitty, I'm not sure why it stayed grayed out if they were stinking you. Disco's happen. You used the closest speedchat to indicate what happened. Whoever it was, was being a jerk...plain and simple. If they can't accept your apology, then you can't help that. You know what the truth is, not them.

I say "I'm stuck" "Sorry I had to leave unexpectedly" "I'm stuck" to get the point across that I was booted. It's bad enough to get discoed, but then to get griefed over it? Ouch! I'm sorry that happened to you.

Is this toon on your friends list? There's not an "ignore" button (boy, wouldn't that come in handy), but I've read that if another non-friend toon keeps your doodle up on their screen in the upper right corner (rather than your toon up on the screen), they can keep TPing to you and keep whispering to you, even though you leave the area. The only way to get rid of someone who's doing this to you is to log out and back in, go to a different district and hope they don't happen to go to the same district and spot you again.

Thank you all for your replies. I like the "I'm stuck" followed by "I had to leave unexpectedly". I will do that if it happens again.

I'm confused why I wasn't able to whisper back to him though, have you seen that? I clicked on his message bubble that said "you stink" to reply but both the green speed chat and blue chat buttons were greyed out. It was weird!

I have had that happen to me...the grey when they are whispering to me. I don't get it...I figure maybe they sent all of it and they quickly log out??? Welcome to Toontown, I guess.

Anyone who has played TT for a while has been booted against their will... It happened to me the other night at the Brown Monkey run Sunday. I danced with a group, gathered round the liberated Sophie, went through the clicks, and... "Pfftthhft, I was gone." I borrowed that from Hee Haw days, sorry...

Having two accounts and two machines, I understand the idea that some systems are more responsive than others. One of mine is a Win2K system that fairly crawls through VP and is barely adequate for CFO. Deciding line is that if a toon is lagging or choosing slowly but playing well and then are gone, they probably got hit by the TT gremlins. Unfortunately, some folks only review situations on a per-convenience basis. Oh well...
