| More Info : |
Any member and their friends are welcome to attend our boss runs / fights. We post daily as a reminder and it gives us a place to post who is showing up and what happened on the run. You don't have to RSVP...just show up. Play your best and use good teamwork to get the whole team to dance. Try not to shuffle. We will try to balance the load and go short.... meaning if 10 show up we will try to split into 2 groups of 5...just watch and be aware for how many are around the elevator. It may pull you out of your comfort zone but after a couple of short runs a full load (8 toons) will be boring. Let us know when you are coming and we'll watch out for you. The big toons will NOT leave you nor shuffle you out. If you loose and you want "Revenge", hang outside the Gag shop and look for the "Did You Win?" and "Play Again?" phrases. There are usually enough keyed/max toons around to run the boss run again. |
I'll see ya if I see ya..... the uber run is tonight too. Hap needs merits

Okay i want to try and stay positive but this is the 3rd cfo run that i has done lately and toons are bailing or something in the middle when the going gets tough. Please this isnt for the ones with computer trouble I can forgive that but to just log off cause things arent going as fast as they would like to, Or to just hide behind a safe and not work the crane or stomp goonies why bother? I thought the point of the runs was to work together so that we can all dance. Tonight I was left with 2 other toons and went sad cause others bailed out. Help me understand!!!

Believe me I was right behind you, I lost all of my top gags. My son was even trying to help us out that was an unbeatable battle. Everytime you turned around he had a safety helmet on. My son and another toon threw safes at the same time and as the one knocked the helmet off, his safe became the helmet. The cranes are an art to work.
We lost the battle twice, the second time we went down with only six toons. We all went sad. It was just me and Sadie left. I just stood there and let them get me.
Maybe they should call the CFO run (Crane trainging time).
My tip would be only throw a safe when he is dizzy, and save completed toontasks so you can turn it in as soon as you get back to the playground.

Ouch! That sounds bad. How many people usually show up for these runs? Sounds to me like you need more good craners to get you in and out of there faster. When safes are falling that fast you have been fighting was to long, lol... not fun!
As far as the toons hiding behind the safes, its has been my experience many times that these are run by someone who came with 2 toons. Some can and will play with 2 (crane with one, stomp with the other), but many times they will tuck one out of harms way while they fight more effectively.
Good luck on future runs.

I think it's time we do a training run or two to help people on the crane. I started to post something for one the other day and lost it (maybe Nanner's button did it) and just forgot about it.
Thursday is CFO day and those that want practice maybe can meet in a different district as not to confuse those that just want in and out. I haven't been on a CCG CFO one, but have done the VP and CJ stuff with them. I know they make teams and leaders as well there are more people there. If there is a lot of interest, we could make teams to keep the shuffle and confusion down. Plus we need some who are good craners on to help. I am more than willing to help stomp and let people practice. I don't mind hitting the PG green either (as long as I take the duckie with me ).
Well, maybe I should have done a new separate thingy for it so people can respond. I know a lot of people show up who never post anything. It would really help for this to post and say if you want practice or just want to come stomp and help out. Sorry, not much time to write more this morning. Would like to see if there is enough interest though.
Maybe that sweet, mod lady can make this it's own thingy for me.

It depends on Real Life....
We have had only 4 toons for a while show up and as we have gained members and toons that have Cash suits there has been as many as 3 full loads. We try to balance out the loads so going in with 4 to 6 in not uncommon.
The craning experience as a whole for the group isn't high (IMHO) since there are a lot of people new to the CFO. This will change over time....and with practice
The CCG does offer Crane training and they are scheduled to have 'close range pie stunning' training this coming weekend. I have never been in a training session but willing to give it a try (helping train since I can crane ).

All in all TTF boss wins (percentage wise) are much better than most (if not all other) groups. On top of training, maybe a better mix of suits may be another answer. And since we have new members (that may not be able to crane), maybe we need to pack the vators on CFO night (Thursdays in particular). And any leftovers can go on a revenge run or just run short. Just a thought.

I did note last night that the smaller suits were chomping at the bit to get on the ele. When I got to the platform one load was already packed in and another waiting to go. The little ones right in front. Not 100% sure but I think (?) this is the one that went sad? The last load (one I was on) had all big suits and a very easy time of it. What SHOULD of happened is the smaller suits split up into 2 groups. One group go with the 2nd load and the other group go with the 3rd. I didn't notice the mix on the first elevator.
That said the revenge run was interesting for sure! That's the first time I've gone sad in a CFO in forever (unless you count times being sided with....well.... see avatar ) Not sure what went wrong. All I know is we had 2 (or was it 3)? on cranes. Good craners too! I was stomping one side and 2 the other. All was well but then I noticed the other side had lots more goons than I did but one of the stompers was over on my side (???) After that I just ran around TRYING to protect the craners so we could get out of there alive. So much for that idea.....obviously didn't work well did it? Usually CFO's are you blink and it's over. Must have been grumpy last night!
BTW weren't there about double the cogs in the CFO last night vs usual? Both times it seemed that way!
Another BTW....elevator 3 got 200 jellys.....I was blamed. This was unfair and I demand a trial! (but first I need about 6 months to get my notices )

I agree a practice on the cranes would be good but also teamwork would be good also.... The run I was on last night was good It look like the majority of us were lady toons... hummm.. We went fairly fast....good teamwork... we all danced... Miss Terry Novel was in there great job! My brother in law was on the elevator before me and said it was really tough he was fighting for over 15 mins that everyone bailed on him he was by himself for a while.... wow...

I was on that fated 2nd elevator. I jumped on with Sadie McPounce, and I believe we were the only 2 RB suits. As we were in the ele, I asked Sadie if she could crane. When she said no, I knew it was going to be an interesting run. ALthough I am a RB48 I can count on one hand the number of times I have craned (and 2 times were last night). I stomp - I have been told I stomp well. I guess when I saw the small suits I hoped that they were 2nd toons, and had experience in the CFO round. THe cogs are no problem with a full ele, as long as the toons know how to crane and stomp. I know there was one other toon that was craning, and hitting the cfo. Unfortunately I was the second to go sad.
In the revenge run, I again craned. It should have been ok, even with me craning since we had Bill and Lisa craning as well. Not really sure what happened, except that I seemed to get all the goons on my side. Again - sent to the playground.
I don't really care about going sad - it means I put off having to get those last 8900 bux . But, I do think we could have split up the first loads better. I have completed many cfo runs with just 3 other toons.
As for training - I suppose if I have to crane I should train, but I really like to stomp!

I think it's just so hard to split up in the first place and then to try and balance craners/non craners and big suits/little suits is way too much. Although, if I remember correctly it seemed Nanner was doing math in one of the past posts.
There are also some of us with little suited toons and maxed toons so checking suits isn't always an indicator either. You go in and take your chances with what you get. I'd rather have the challenge of being one of the few who can crane and trying to get everyone to dance. Even with two experienced craners it can not work out if they aren't reading what the other is doing. If one is just waiting the whole time to throw a safe but never a goon then it just doesn't work out very well in a two toon craning.
I'll try and make a list of who I think from their posts would like to practice. I think Thursday is the CJ right after, but I think we could still do it. Unless enough of you can do it on the weekend. I'm not a great organizer, but I can try. Tomorrow maybe too soon, but if there are at least six of us then we can go for it. Obviously only four can do the crane at one time. We would be real safe with my stomping anyways. Hopefully some of our newer members who have been coming can at least post they would like to participate. I think some have helped me in the VP training runs and could offer more advice.

Hard to tell from the replies but it looks like we could get two groups going if more are interested.
If tomorrow is too soon then next Thursday maybe better and give more time to get organized. Tuesdays doesn't work with the uber runs so close to the end of our run.
That's enough thinking for right now.

I was on the elevator with Granny and she was right it was very fast but we did have a good load with toons I knew were good. I am thinking we were the first elevator since GG loves to load immediately to help out the newer suits that tend to load quickly. It may be time for those of us that are recognizable TTF toons with experience to make an effort to split up into different loads. I am sure if the first two loads were split up differently it could have been a very different story.
I am realy surprised to hear about TTF toons bailing though could you have missed the sad sounds with all the activity? I know that has happened for me where a few go sad and I just didn't hear or see it. I know if I was there I would stay til the bitter end, I have seen wins come out of situations that seem hopeless. Get a few stompers to protect the craner and let them get it done. I have also seen toons bump into the CFO when they see that he is targeting the crainer, that takes his focus away from the craner and usually the toon that bumped into him gets a swipe. Better to take a few points of damage than have the crainer disabled from the crain for a bit.
I went to a CCG craining training run in the past and I really do not think you need experienced craners nearly as much as you need good stompers. When I went I had a full hour to work on the crane due to awesome stompers. We all went sad but it was the best time I ever had going sad except for some of the griefing runs out there
It may be worthwhile to have a decent crainer in the load to put the safe on his head a few times in the beginning so that the new crainers can practice getting it off but from there, unless you want to assure a win I don't think you need great craners. If you want to avoid going sad I think it is also important for the crainers in training to decide when they want to step back and let the pro's finish him off, unless you are feeling you have the hang of it and can help with the win!
The next few weeks I am swamped and especially so on weekends so I don't think I can make it to a run or help organize. I am not a great organizer either, if you see my house you would understand LOL.

I should be able to as long as class doesn't run over... I would love to. Does anyone have a code, or room, I think it is easier to communicate that way, and you can delete me immediately after.
