TTF Crane Training
View Single PostView Single Post

Less than adequate at the crane? Can't get those pesky goons to actually hit the guy? Well, come to our first (as far as I know) TTF Crane Training. We have experts (hmmm) who can show you the way of the crane, or at least let you practice til we all go sad. Razz

First tip: Keep your eye on the CFO as demonstrated by Nanner.

Second tip: Well, the pic says it all.

Third tip: Again, you see how helpful I am.

Fourth tip: Get em dizzy and...

Fifth tip: Watch to see what others are doing.

Sixth tip: Don't let others steal all the goons. Sometimes you have to be firm with the other toons.

Finally: Dance and listen to the monkey again.

Any questions?

Ok, when and where I guess.

Let's do Thursday November 1. Hide the Halloween Candy so the kids don't stay up all night.
Time: 9 est, 8 central, yadda yadda - just in case some actually want to CJ after
District: bouncytown - to minimize confusion and we all miss our old stomping ground.

I think Lady Meloday Petalface had some good advice in her post. Spend the first ten minutes or so practicing knocking the safe off his head while the goons are still small. Just put it on and take it off. Then after a bit the "leader" can say it's time to start trying to take him out. Then just go for it!

I find it helpful when picking up a goon to pull the crane all the way back and wait for it to stop shaking so much then you can go straight forward with the goon and let go at it's peak. That's the part to practice. If you have no goons, then move a safe closer to you so when he becomes dizzy you have one in reach. Keep an eye on other toons and what they are doing. If you have a goon and he is dizzy then hold it til he is undizzy. This helps keep him dizzy. If someone seems out of safes than pick one up and toss it to that toon. I'm sure others also have good advice, but honestly the only way I learned was to practice and just do it!

If interested, please post the toon you are bringing and if you want to crane or help train. Smile Please know there is a good chance of going sad so if you are attached to those sevens then this may not be for you.

Sorry for confusion, yes this is for real, just entertaining myself with the pictures.

Anyone need training in stomping? Nanner and I could have our own training session for you... I am more than happy to just skip the craning.

You come to our craning one and I will go to your stomping one. I'm putting you on the list and I know you have a key. It's so much more fun craning and can only help you should you be stuck with a group of stompers and no craners. Think of it as helping out your fellow TTF'ers on our runs. Smile I'm trying here...

I'll try and make it, the time is right at kids bed time . . . so no promises. Isn't the regular TTF CFO just 15 minutes later? Why don't we just make 'em all practice during the regular run?

Queen Bubbles Precioustoes would like to attend the training. Question though how do you get a good swing on the crane?

Here's what I do (not that I proclaim to be an expert) - I grab the safe, bring it back to the middle, swing it towards the CFO and let go when it's towards the top of him. Pretty much like I would throw a goon.

My advice is to make sure you have the goon throwing down pat, then try the safe throwing as they are similar. You can still throw a goon when he's dizzy and have it damage him.

Miss Terri can come and stomp for the craning stuff. Kid goes to bed right at 9, though, so I will be there but not moving for a minute or two Smile. If you don't need me, I can go work my new black kitty!

BW has called tonite a family movie nite event. So I will not be able to attend tonite's festivities. I may be on, but it will be late.

Craners in training, this run will serve you well. Don't give up after a few misses and/or bounce offs. Keep craning. You have some mighty fine toons escorting you on this run tonite. I had posted help a long time ago in reference to Bear needing some (OK... A LOT) of crane training. After one run with these guys and I pretty much had the basics figured out. All it took from there was repetition at some of the runs. I'm no craner extraordinaire, but I'm not the worst now either (which I believe I was before the training).

Have fun and Good Luck!
