The first time I realized I wasn't the only adult playing TT was during the first month I played (on my son's green cat). Before that, I was pretty sure I was the only psycho adult on this game, but I was ok with that cause I was having a blast (and I was doing it for my son, you see, and not for me, HEH). This was before I'd looked up TT on the Internet for forums, etc. Before I had any SFs.
Late one night (best playing time is when everyone else is asleep--no interruptions that way) a non-SF friend asked if I would help her. I TPd to her and found myself in front of a 5 story in DDL. YIKES! I hadn't ever been in a 5-story before, nor had I been in any buildings at all in DDL. I had gotten killed a few times by cogs on the street in DDL and I'd learned to stay away from that place! But there were a couple of 100+ laffers standing there with my friend, so I jumped on the vator with them and went to face my doom. My friend discoed partway through the building, and it was obvious my pathetic gags were virtually no help, but these two 100+ laffers kept me alive. It was one of those ugly 5 stories where cogs keep coming out in droves on the top floor. Their names were "granny" something-or-other and I thought, what a strange name for a kid to pick. And what a strange time of day for a kid to play, unless they live in Hong Kong or something. They kept telling me what a sweetheart I was (I was on a boy toon) and a few other things that made me wonder about their age. Then when we finally finished the building, one of them said, "Toodles." And I thought, "OK, there is NO WAY a kid is going to say "Toodles"!! (First time I'd ever seen that speed chat.) Mixed with all the other stuff they had said and the way they had played, I decided that they had to be adults, too. Shortly after that I looked up the forums online and found a whole ton of TT-playing adults like me!
BTW, if there's a whole lot of us, does that mean we're not psycho?? Just wondering!

I prefer to think we're all psycho together
I saw the kid today that introduced my son to TT, who then of course got me hooked. I forgot to thank him for that I've said it before, I'll say it again - I have met so many amazingly fantastic people here. One I am so incredibly excited about meeting soon. Coming here to TTF of course made TT all that much better.

When I started playing (my niece wanted me to join so I could help her toon with its toontasks), I thought maybe there were a couple of other adults on the game like me who liked toontown. After a few months, I realized you could tell an adult from a really young kid a lot of times by the strategy in the game (and the lack of 'you stink' every time the cog died before their gag hit) and how nice they were to me. I had NO idea there were this many of "us" on Toontown until about a year later when I joined TTF (last June). I didn't even know what a "forum" was until TTF.
Ya'll have really enlightened me and without TTF, I wouldn't be where I am today--even more addicted to Toontown.

When I first started Toontown (a LONG time ago ), I thought EVERYONE were little kids. Wow! Just as I found TTF, I didn't know what a "forum" was either. I was so shocked to see so many adults and not very many kids my age on here. I have to say though that I think I'm even more interested on checking things on TTF than TT at the moment. You guys are great!

I remember thinking about the same things. I started helping my kids doing those tough toontasks. Just broke my heart to see them struggle (snicker)... then for a joke I made a fat little mouse. Little did I know at that time I would become vain and not like her look - lol - and the silly way she ran and jumped, so I started over with Scarlet.
I remember playing in the middle of the night on a school night, or during the day thinking wow there are an awfully lot of kids not in school and up late! Never occurred to me there would be other adults (or older teens) running around toontown. In my mind I just always thought it was all very young kids.
Funny we all felt about the same. I too used to look for "signs" that I might be playing with another adult after it dawned on me I might now be the only one in the tooniverse. It is pretty easy to tell now if you are playing with a teen/adult as opposed to a young child.
I think what makes the adults in this game so special is most started playing to help someone they love, so there are a lot of good hearted people out there. I too have met wonderful people in this game, and they are what keep me playing, not the game.

I also started playing toontown after my girls saw the commercial on TV and desperately wanted to play. We started with a trial account and within hours I was hooked. We subscribed that day...
I origionally made Sadie to get a feel for the tasks, and be able to help when my older daughter needed it. My younger daughter just loved the trolley games, but couldn't quite read yet. I eventually pretty much kicked them off the subscribed account because of the constant "But I want to create a new toon!". My OCD just can't handle that, and so I got them another free account that they can create and delete toons to their hearts content.
I first realized there were adults playing when I started playing late at night (I work late evenings, and don't get home until 11:30p cent) and would play until VERY late (or is that very early?) some nights if I couldn't sleep, and saw quite a few toons running around. I also realized Sadie was being flirted with a few times... well as much as you can with speedchat any way. I soon began to realize from style of play who was grown up, and who wasn't. I don't know why I didn't google TT before I actually did. Finding you guys was absolutely the best thing!!!

I first realized there were other adults playing by toon's names. No offense to kids, but some names were just a lil too clever to have been thought up by them. There was one toon that really drove this theory home. I can't for the life of me remember his name but it was the title of a beatles song. lol

Haha, I used to think I was the only adult that played. I played with one particular toon very frequently and he kept getting more and more flirtatious. He tried to make SFS in game with me a few times and I kept saying no. I was sure that I was the only adult in the game, which meant that he had to be a kid. Well, after a couple months, he started going overboard again with the flirting so I thought I had better SF him and tell him that I was an adult. The first question he asked me was how old I was. I just said that I was a lot older than he thought I was. His reply was, "I'm 38." And he put his wife on his toon so she could talk to me too (I was friends with her toon also). I asked if he was a child molester. They both just laughed at me and explained to me how they could tell that I was an adult and that a lot of adults played. It was too hilarious. It was also a relief!

First time I saw the game I was flopping at my uncles house after separating from my (now ex)wife. My cousin thought it was a blast coming down to my room and playing my x-box and computer games. He told me about the game so I started a free account for him, next thing I know I'm playing more then him.
So divorce was final I moved out and let the account laps.Till I got layed off and remembered how much I dug playing. I also dismissed the game as a bunch of kids the first go around, started to catch on I wasn't the only (gasp still have trouble calling myself this) adult when a nice uber cat let me tag along with a couple of her other uber friends. Kids just don't do teamwork like that in 5 storys in Dreamland.
With that knowlegde I sought out a place like this fine forum hoping to make friends I could do more then speedchat with.....any takers??? I'm central time and play all the time. Sleep? whats that?

My story is the same. My daughter who just turned 6 begged for me to get her this "Toon Town" game. Of course, I had no idea what it was. A few days later, I saw the commericial for it. I thought that would be neat for her to play. I go to look it up and gasped $80 . At the time we were saving to get our first house (long story...don't wanna bore you with it), and being the tightwad (hee hee) that I am...said no. A year later, my daughter starts seeing the commercial again. The begging starts. Her birthday is close and I'm outta ideas so why not. I bought it.
One day out of sheer boredom, I decided to see what it was about. I jumped on and created my first toon Mister Domino McGoose. I was completing toon task after toontask. Before I knew it, I was in MML and it was dark and my hiney hurt from the sitting. I played Domino like mad for months on end. I didn't have any SF's with him and started to get bored with him. So I deleted him. And since my daughter didn't care to play it anymore, I thought that I would just let it lapse and not play anymore. One day I get my credit card bill in the mail and see where they renewed the account. HUH? Oh well.
About a month later, out of sheer boredom, I decide to start another toon Bear Lee Here. I thought it was a neat name. And, at the time, very indicative of how much I'd be playing. For some reason the excitement picked up and I'm back at it. This game is very dangerous for task oriented people like me. Month or 2 go by. I'm back to LOM. This time I start to feel bored again. I think it was around this time when I run into Ms. Fancy Beanieswirl and Midnight Rose. Even thru the speedchats they sparked the interest back in the game for me. I looked forward too seeing if they were online. I'd beg for help, and they would come to help a bear out. And vice versa. Unlike the rest of you, I really didn't even think about the adult side of things. I mean I could tell small kids from the stink or the wacky choices. Well a month or 2 go by (I think) and one day, and sure enough I'm running around with Fancy and Rose, when I get whispered to by Fancy "Please be my friend". I thought it was really weird, because I was already. So I was goofing around too and said yes. Well she asks me to follow her and I did. I was back at her estate and Rose was there too. Anyway, we're in her house and she says to "Please be her friend". And I go yes (thinking I already am silly). She starts to say some silly things that didn't make sense. I'm thinking she's goofing around so I started acting goofy too. Then a light came on as to what they were doing (you see, my bulb is dim, so it takes a while for me to realize it's on). And shortly afterward, Rose friended me 2. I bet I spent an hour that day just yapping at them. I was so excited. To finally have SF's. That is what turned it around for me. And Terri is the one that referred me to this site. And I have been here since and made a LOT of really nice (and awesome!) friends.

I think I've mentioned before that I think I'm the only one who can't blame their kid? I was beta testing VMK (ick....yawn) and heard some people talking about TT and then I saw an ad for it. Thought....oh it can't be worse than this thing is so I did the trial thingy. Liked the Sims and was thinking of doing that online until I heard it was basically a pick up spot. Sorry. Have a hubby.....don't want another! Don't think I need to explain from there Was hooked. Shortly after I found that other site and I can give them credit for my first SF's and some knowledge of the game. I was a pretty little toon when I found them.
My kid watched me play and of course wanted to play too. So it was first me then I got her an account of her own thinking we'd play together. WRONG! Only if I want to ride the trolley, race and now golf allll the time. That or delete and make new toons. She can barely even read yet so any task or gags she has built up are things I have done for her. She's actually a bit afraid to fight the "naughtys" <----ahhh that would be a cog. Her first toon I've told her she can never delete (the one I've worked on) so she keeps that one. She does still like watching me do boss battles and will OFTEN tell me what I should be doing. Hmmm can I blame her for bad gag choices?

I think I've finally remembered when I realized that my friend was probably not a kid. The flowers had come out not long before this and I got to four beans and was systematically doing the combos but running out of beans. Yes, there was a time MST was a poor mousie. I had gone to my friends house and seen he was ahead of me so he must know these combos, but how can I get them from him. I had not yet found these forums or even thought to search it. So after trying different things I figured out we could go to TTC and use the shirt colors in the cloth shop. Well, fine I knew, but would my friend be able to figure out what I was saying with only speedchat. Well, after one attempt he knew exactly what I meant and got me all the way to five flower combos before vanishing from TT. I don't think a little kid would have picked up on what I was doing.
Which I guess was good cause I then goggle searched them and found TTF. So of course, I noticed this site had ages on the side and that confirmed my theory much to my son's disbelief. Even if some aren't as truthful as others.

Who all's not telling the truth about their age? Other than the person who says they're 102 or something? You got me curious now! Should I be shaving 10 yrs off my age? Is this just like weights on driver's licenses, where it's standard practice to shave a fair amount off? HEH
