Yeah, my daughters have the "dummy" account. How long are they going to be able to go into the other neighborhoods though? It might only be for a limited time...

I think its ironic that they pulled this off as soon as the Vivendi/Activision merger was announced. It is also right before the holidays. Disney has an obligation to shareholders to convert all of these free people to paid members. They're clogging servers which means there needs to be more hardware upgrades, bandwidth allocations, and customer service reps. Its just a grand old marketing strategy. It will work very well, too. For those that don't know. Disney claims there are 6 million paid toons. That's 60 million a month. Even if the 6 million includes 6 toons per account, that is 1 million paid accounts. 10 million dollars a month. They will never give that up. There isn't much evidence that in-game advertising will provide such consistent revenue. So don't hold your breath. They kind of need to compete with WoW which has almost 10 million subscribers.
