Congrats! From what I understand the easiest way is to upload your pics to photobucket or imageshack, then past the url in post 
though I'm sure there is someone more qualified to answer this

if you already uploaded it to a host(like image shack, photbucket,ect)
then put a [img] tag in front of the image url and [/img] at the end of the url
an example would be [img]www.example.com/example.png[/img]
this is how to display images on the forum! 
oh did you know when posting you can also click the insert image button
on the toolbar and simply type your url and it will put the tags in for you.

hmm im not sure about the slideshows but(i have seen animation signatures so there gotta be some way...)
well i found a new super mario bros background then i used paint.net and editd it i used the little gag icons to show my gags, its off right now but once i get more laff and a storm cloud i will probbly update my signature.
