Nanner :
Ummm well.....errrrrrr......then I need to be moved to the Trainee spot! Embarassed

I'll put you in both, Nanner. When you are done getting your ducky feet wet at craning, then you can be a protector if you want to be so.

TerrKan :
I'll bring Midnight Rose. Although I do have a few toons with cash suits that I've yet to CFO on. Can a Short Change 1 be a trainer? HEH HEH

Terri, you are awesome with any toon you bring! I would say bring Snootie, but..... Razz

I'll bring the mouse woot! Would it help to pair people up with toons that are SF already? I know that I can make temporary room on MST as I am friends with myself lol. I can easily make friends with me again. Mr. Green

I was stomping in a CFO and watched a toon stomp from directly in front of the door. He would jump as soon as they came out and hit them before the light came on. When I stomp now I have done this and it works really well as long as you time it right. It is better when the goons get a little bigger. Just my few words of advice on stomping.

Oh, boy, I'm getting pretty excited about this. So, roughly two weeks till the training starts. I think I'll stop by the factory a few times and jump on some goons, just so I'm not completely clueless. blob2

One way I used to practice stomping goons was to go to the mints... If you have friends who don't mind waiting for you, then go in with friends and when you get to the goons, run around and stomp for a while. If you don't have any understanding friends, go by yourself - and no I'm not crazy. You can practice alot by yourself in the mint. If you land on a floor with cogs first instead of what you want to practice on, just tp back to the playground - it will bring you right back to cbhq.

As for tips when stomping in a cfo - I have been trying a few new things out, depending on who I'm running with. I used to always get the goons as soon as they came out of the trap door. But since I have tried (key word here is tried), craning I realize this is not the best place for the craners top pick up the goons. Not sure how you excellent craners feel about that... Anyways, I have been trying to let them move out a little when we have a bunch of experience craners to see if it helps any. For little goons, there is no need to jump - just run int their backsides. For larger goons, I have a habit of letting them get me with the light - it makes it easier to stomp the - THis is not recommended if you are low on laff or if there are a gazillion of them. Although if there are a gazillion, then you will get hit anyway.

Tommy - I could probably be around to help stomp, but like Nanner, I could use some craning training. How many times have Nanner and I gone in a cfo to ask each other on the ele "Are there any craners with us?" That is another thing when balancing the loads - we should not just have a label with our RB50, but one that says crane challenged! I think some of the toons newer to cfo do not know that we all are not great craners.

Please understand that this may not be exactly at the first of March. It may be in the first week of March. I want to give enough folks an opportunity to sign up. I've never headed up something like this before, so please forgive the lack of a definitive date at this point in time. As time progresses, I will set a date.

LOL QMM! Too many times we've said that and whoops! Sad since I've done a 2 person CFO but at this point I could never ever even try a 1 person. You at least can take the crane and do SOMETHING!

All these stomping hints how about some craning ones? I can pick up a goon. I can swing a goon. I can aim a goon (granted pretty slowly) but when I go to throw the goon it just splats. My crane is extended all the way out and the goon is swinging. What am I doing wrong? Yes, sometimes it will hit but I have no idea what I do different when it hits vs when it splats.

By "splat," you mean it's bouncing off not doing squat? I've had that problem big time. I have a video of me hitting that stupid CFO over and over and over and not once doing any damage to him. I was aiming for his head, cause I read that's where to aim for, but when I quit that and started aiming for his torso instead, letting go earlier than I had been, then I finally started doing some damage to him. I don't know if that's what you've got going on, but it made a world of difference when I started trying to hit his tummy instead of his head.

AIM???? Shocked

LOL yeah it bounces off and does squat. Hmmmm next CFO (if I can get a crane) I'll see if I can get a hit on his torso. IF (big IF) I can do that maybe I've solved my problem?????

When we did the last crane training it looked to me like you were waiting to long to let go of the goon. You wanna get it going up and let go. It was nice in that one to stand and watch what you were doing as then I could say what it looked like from my angle. Hope that helps Nanner! Maybe the four trainers could be split up and have two stomping and two communicating with the craners. If I'm with toons that I am not SF with already I can make two spots for the training to try and give advice that way. It is hard to tell what someone is doing wrong without seeing them in action lol.

This is going to be great! I'm really excited! I've been wanting to try craning, but I've been reluctant to. Now I'll feel like I can do it without anyone getting mad at me if I don't do it right the first time!

Thanks, Tommy! You rock!

I signed you up as master ozzie crinkle pounce (according to your profile). Please let me know if that is not the right toon.

I have updated the list. So far we have 6 trainers and 12 trainees. Thus far, if we do a full vator with 4 trainers/4 trainees, we will have to do 3 separate loads. Which means we'll probably have to do this on 2 (or 3) separate days. Are my trainers ok with this? Or am I looking at this the wrong way? If you have suggestions, please let me know.

Ummm first of all this is a PLANNED event which will happen early next month which is being run by Tommy for all the members of this site. This is not an appointment command performance type thing. Training will only work in a group setting where all are in agreement that it is a training run! Randoms do not cut it when trying to train correctly.

Second I DO NOT do 6 am any day any reason any time! A Sunday??? Shocked I think not!

Third why me? I can't crane? I've asked to be put on the trainee list.

Fourth I'm not on this site 24/7 so please do not tell me to read NOW! Oh and a gentle reminder. Use of all caps is considered shouting and well....sort of annoying. Smile

WOW, I don't know how I missed this thread...........anyways, I think I could go as a trainer. I feel pretty comfortable with the craning and stomping. I wouldn't be able to do SF's if we're still doing that thing. So yeah, I can bring Emma as a trainer if it's not too late to sign up. Smile

Hi, everyone! Just checking in, no rush.
A friend talked me into a CFO last night and before I was able to stomp my second goon, big dude walked out. I had to ask what happened. Apparently we won, go figure... Didn't learn a thing, heehee...
Still looking forward to this training is what I meant to say, Smile...

Not too late at all. Emma has been added. Thank you for the volunteering!

Sounds like some awesome craning to me!

I apologize for not checking in sooner. Had some things going on this weekend that kept me from checking in here. I'll start peaking at the calendar to see how to fit it in. I'm still thinking about hijacking a couple of Friends Runs. Is that cool with everyone? Or should I run this thing outside the Friends run?
