1st CFO battle
View Single PostView Single Post

I just had my first CFO battle tonight (3 actually hee hee)....what fun that was! Thanks for the tips Heather...but I went 3 for 3 with no toe inspections Laughing
The first time I was planning to go in the dollar mint and toons kept whispering to me to come help fight the CFO...so I went over and even though I was a midget amongst giants everyone was Great! the boss seemed like it was over in a minute. Good Craners I suppose. the second was about the same...I kept thinking these goons are cute...what's the big deal. I don't think we ever got to the red ones in the first 2 battles. The 3rd was a little more hairy...red headed goons that were out to hurt. there were so many safes around the CFO it was hard to navigate and I kept getting zapped. I was in serious need of some TU goodies and they weren't that plentiful...I got down to 4 lp right at the end and was looking through speedchat to use the 80 TU phrase I got in the first battle to save myself when thank Mickey, the door opened and the CFO "caught the train". YEE hah. I have a feeling I got lucky and got in with some good toons....there were some RB 50's and you don't get there without knowing a little something,do ya?
I was told I would get shuffled for being a SC and you were right H. The 2nd time it took what seemed like an hour to get an elevator full. HATE the shuffle! Funny how your LPs don't seem to matter... toons judge you by your suit size. I had all my maxed gags too.
I got
1st battle 80 tu
2nd battle toons gag up lure
3rd battle toons spend wisely 350 jellies
is that normal for the CFO? you get one phrase per victory? and the treasures....are those the tu's around the room from jumping goons?

If any of these guys are TTF's THANKS for helping me get started on a bigger suit!
McZap
Captain pierre snifflezapper
Lady Taffy Twinkletoon
Quackers
Maxie Fiddlecrumbs
Dr Igor Fumblebrains
...we had one more but somehow they went green...the room was full of TU's and I was advised to be respectful of other toons that may need them so it wasn't that toons were hogging the TU's. I guess it happens Sad
Can't wait to do it again!

Congrats!

To answer your questions.... Yes, Yes and Yes.
Some are very quick and some you make t out by the skin of your teeth.
One Unite is the reward and can be used anywhere.
The TU comes from the goons that you stomp.

Owoooo! What fun you had! Now, you'll have to come the TTF CFO battles and see what silliness is all about.
The bigger the goon, the better TU thingy they throw out. The first little ones just throw the ice cream cones. The big, nasty, red ones throw the zzzzzz's.

How close do the other toons have to be to benefit from these? Say, for example; In the 1st round of the CFO battle, do the Toons on the other side of the Boss get tooned up if you use that phrase while in the battle? Or if I had used it in the Boss battle would all the toons in the room get it?
When do you guys use these? I can see that TU being helpful if you were alone or with one other toon with out TU...but it also seems like a waste to use it on 1 or 2 toons. During one of my first VP battles I know somebody used a TU in the middle of the boss round (that was nice because I didn't know alot then and sure needed it), and I remember somebody rewarding all the toons with Jellies after the first round of the VP battle (might have been a little pre-mature), just curious on how to spend my new found wealth before the kiddo uses the 80 tu in TT central on teentoons! He hasn't seen that yet and not sure I want him to! Laughing

I started my own toon last week (secretly) and hoped my son wouldn't notice but last night he did and he deleted him..."I don't want a Brown Monkey Daddy", "what's he doing here?" I pleaded...he won... now Daddy's toon is a green bear named Poppa Bear, I wanna be a Monkey!

Woot! Glad to hear your first few runs were a smashing success. If you weren't fully addicted before, CFO will clinch it. Time to get your own account LOL.

The unites do not hit the other side during cog battles. Only toons within range of the confetti get whatever you give out.

As far as when to use 'em. . . they're yours, you decide. Some places I may use them . . .

Toon-up unites:
1. Gags have missed several times in a row and the next hit might wipe us out.
2. Sided with an uber at vp (good use for 10s and 20s, but don't waste even that if a level 12 cog is aiming at a <25 laff toon)
3. I've played with too many gavels in the CJ - run to where I've noticed someone else is in trouble or to where the biggest concentration of toons are and toss a big tu.

Bean unites:
1. Share the wealth, bring it to a beanfest.
2. A friend made a new toon.
3. One of the kids wants to go shopping.
4. I'm dancing in a factory/building/VP with a small random who's company I enjoyed.
5. I'm having fun in a battle when some goof says "I need more jellybeans"

Gag-up unites:
1. Oops, I forgot to get gags before coming in here.
2. In-between rounds in VP with smaller toons when I think it may make the difference for them in Skeles.
3. Short elevator and we're running low on supplies.
4. Gag-up heal makes great confetti, especially at a maxing run.

Note: It's been several hours since I started this post (hazards of posting at work LOL), apologies if I've repeated anything someone else said since Smile.

You're lucky to have gotton the 80 tu, it took me about 15 victories to get that one (kept getting the 20 tu). I've been fortunate to get the 600 jellybeans twice in my 15 or so runs, and to also get the gag-up all gags twice. I'm quite addicted to it... My tasks all can be accomplisned in the mints/CFO, so that's what I do. I have a Bean Counter now, after getting my suit within the last week.

Congrats Very Happy I just hate how whenever I would run through people who would go crane would keep on throwing safes at the wrong time. So thats pretty much why I've given up on C.F.O. V.P seems easier and more straight forward... ah well. Hope you do great on your C.F.O runs! Very Happy and good luck!

Congratulations!! The CFO is lots of fun, especially when you go with TTF's.
Lots of toons like to spread the "wealth" of beans while waiting to do a TTF run--especially for those uber and newer toons who are always broke. Some toons don't need the beans, but they are gracious Rolling Eyes about getting them--NOT {if they know you well enough, they will tell you that you stink when you give them beans--it is just all in fun though} Laughing I always seem to need beans, even with my high laff toons--I guess I like to buy stuff for my toons and friends a lot. Cool
Sounds like you're going to need your own account soon so you can have a brown monkey. Very Happy
Hope to see you at the next CFO run! Smile

ok...I don't have to concern myself when to use the unites that I had, just the ones I WILL have in the future Laughing Last night I was in the SB factory with a blue bunny named Burger and and some other teen or 20 that went jumping goons in the warehouse. I kept saying "follow me" but I think it was a little kiddo. He went sad so Me and Burger were alone. I told him I was going to use Lure and he shoud pass. He said No but passed anyway. MISS Cogs attack and he got at least half the damage. I think he was a 45 lp. He said I need a TU! I said OK but used a big magnet again and told him to pass, (Fruit pie was his biggest gag) He said NO!!! when he saw the magnet. But, "I know what I'm doing... Rolling Eyes" He says lets use Sound! I said No. Whip out the big magnet... MISS...NO!!!, he says NO!!! and now I feel so bad for making this poor toon pass twice in a row and me missing with the lure, I'm hoping the Cogs go for me but the first attack lifts us both in the air and before we hit the ground and damage was assessed, I managed to use the unite TU and save him. My son says " WHAT WAS THAT Daddy?" he liked the confetti, I said "we had to save him" so there went the coveted 80 TU that would have been SO useful on a missed lure somewhere else...oh well. And this morning, I usually get him ready for pre-school first and then and he plays while I'm taking a shower and getting ready for the day. I walked in the living room just in time to see the gag-up phrase above him in his race car..."What was that Daddy?" Oh MAN! I feel guilty now for the way I reacted...I said NO! we wanted to save that for a time when we really needed it! he said "I'm sorry Daddy!" "I didn't know!...I won't do it again!" I told him it was okay...I should have told him about it... it was my fault...and it was...so... We got 20 little magnets though! and at least ONE of us was excited about that. We do have the Jellies unite left though. Smile
I would get another account Heather but... I am a single dad raising a 3 year old by myself (mom is gone) on a disability pension from the Fire Dept. I know it's only 10 bucks a month but my budget really is that tight (daddy still wants his digital channel package! Laughing ) I have however started a new vinyl sign business that with any luck...I may could afford the secret account.
Right now he created a Green Bear that he let me name Poppa Bear and I could start working that toon...I just loath the thought of logging another 3000 miles in DD! mister chipper gigglequack had long legs and was fat when I first made him...now he's short and lean. Laughing I remember Maddox taking some ridiculous Toon Task like, defeat 90 Loan Sharks for Small Legs! and it was when we were doing DD and I thought how appropriate...he ran his poor little legs down to nubs...
There are some advantages to him playing my toon, like, when you need 3400 merits and tired of factory runs...he likes the SB "playground". and I (we) still can't juggle and still can't "play the piano"! So he's great at working gags.
I have said I WILL get my own TOON and I'm sure I will as soon as I max Mr Gigglequack out and get tired of that...
I also know I could play one of the girl kitties that he has made but will not play himself and will not let me delete because they're "his Kitties", I could do one of those and he'd never know...we'll see.
Oh, and Heather if you read this...We got the big head! 240 Cogs later and it is hard to see around when you run! Laughing he loves it though...it's like a magnet for small toons, "please be my friend".

Thank you I'll be here all week!...with a big head
M@

Oh my gosh! That is so funny Smile
Yes, you did all the right stuff in the factory, nice of you to use the unite to save him.
And, just think of all the things you can do with 20 little, red magnets (ummm, well.....)

I remember the first time I used a gag-up for something on my cousin. She was really mad because she had all these bike horns and whatnot and didn't know you could delete gags in the Gag Shop! Learning the hard way is the best!

With the free trial accounts, you can meander all around TTC . . . perfect for a 3 year old then you get the big account all to yourself Razz

Or don't worry, there are plenty of macho girly toons in town along with a fair number of effeminate boy toons (can Ricky come try on some of their skirts?) Mr. Green
