Question for you more experienced Bossbot toons. When you jump off the table (or tee) when he yells FORE, is there a secret to NEVER getting hit? It seems to me that the method of just hitting the X and standing perfectly still works best. I need to experiment more, but I think I don't get hit at all that way...it's just that I forget and move after... Sometimes jumping up and down works, but not always. I notice more and more toons getting through it with close to full laff, without hiding or snack hogging, so there must be something that works better than the rest. Thanks!

The only time I seem to get hit is when he throws gears...... Now keep in mind my way is a little theatrical but I dont get hit I jump off and hold down left and down key while jumping( just for kicks the jumping part!) works for me! Also I noticed you can jump up on a table when he yells fore start filling bottle and your safe also....

Really? You mean when he yells FORE and I am already just engaged at the table? (I usually panic at that point, jump off as soon as I can and get hit anyway!) Or after he yells it?
I want to play around with these ideas, but I need to get some more unites first, LOL!
Edit: I found this post about that over at TTC:
| Quote: | | Quote: | Something I noticed the last time I did a run:
If you are not on a table when the CEO calls "fore", he will miss you if you jump on an unoccupied table. This can be invaluable if you are running around to get a new table. When he calls "fore", jump on the closest one that has no toon nearby. You can then begin seltzering up immediately. |
You raise a good point that I'd like to elaborate on. If the CEO yells "FORE," people generally know to hit ESC immediately to jump off their table. But many jump right back on the table as soon as it goes solid again. Then the CEO yells "FORE" again and they jump right back off. This can happen many times in a row.
You should NOT jump right back on your table right away. Wait for 2 seconds after your table goes solid again to allow the CEO to make his next attack. No matter what he does (except for rolling at you), you can safely jump back on the table at that time.
The reason for this is that right when he yells "FORE," swings his club, or turns to throw gears, he has already recorded your position and that's where he will attack. So if you jump onto the table right after he yells "FORE," then he'll be hitting golfballs to where you used to be. Since you're now on the table, the golf balls or gears will go underneath you. This gives you more time to charge up your bottle before his next attack. |
Wow....now I can't wait to try again!!

Yes! I as long as your not allready on.... I figured this out when multples fores were coming out and I was just jumping up on table and still safe! When he heads for your table also, and you jump off going to another table and he yells fore jump on and your safe. I have this part down its the darn gears that catch me off guard every time. Luckily he doesnt seem to throw those that often

Works the same for the golf tees. Jump off - i even give a second or 2 delay to get a last hit in - and he misses. If he fores again when I am off the tee and get back on he misses. It's like learning to jump at the vp or dodging evidence in the CJ. Once you get the flow, it's much easier.

The corner tables are more apt to put you in a "safe" location when you hit esc than the non-corner tables. I also like to move backwards to escape the "fore" hits (and and I jump too just because). He's definitely aiming at the location you were standing when he yelled "fore," and if you can just get back far enough, the balls will disappear before they nail you--if you move too far to the side, though, you might end up getting hit by another line of balls. If you're on the corner table farthest away from the golfers, you're usually safe if you move towards the "back" of the room (away from the golfers) when he yells "fore." If there's no toons over there when he yells "fore" (and there seldom are), he won't be throwing any balls that direction.

I was getting hit whether I was on the golf tee or on the table; even after hitting ESC. I was the golfer on the last 2 CEO runs I attended with friends. What I found that worked for me was to escape (after maybe getting one last shot off) and hitting ESC and backing away to the floor area behind the golf tees. I never got touched when I did that.
On the last CEO I attended, I had 99 of my original 129 (no unites and/or food). The only reason I got down to that was that I was requested to jump on a table and seltzer. And I lost 30 because I got greedy (in the beginning) and attempted to hit the CEO with water. After I got hit those 2 times, I applied the same technique as I did with the golfing, as soon as I jumped off I began to jump backwards and turn in one direction (usually left) for a couple of jumps.
And the quoter is right. Before you jump back on, you need to see where he has his gaze fixated. If it is on you, don't jump back on the table. Instead, move in another direction as quickly as you can. Keep that up till his gaze is off of you.

I haven't been hit by anything but gears in ages. I too like to jump backwards lol. Twice, I tried the jumping back on the table as you said, and got hit both times. I will stick to the theatrics and hop my way backwards to safety.

owooooo I'm so sorry about that LVPT I don't know, it must be my super fancy choreographed moves (see above post!)while jumping off table that the ceo has no ideo where my little duck is.... and yes sometimes i get carried away and have got hit by the line of fire intended for toon beside me I really have to take it down a notch

Theatrics...THAT's funny
it conjures up images of OCD toons that didn't get hit when they backed up-jumped three times-turned a full circle and jumped back on so now they have these rituals they have to do before they can "get back to it".
That's Silly...my duck knows you only have to jump twice and do the confused emote you'll be just Fine.

You guys are great I read all of the above posts and made it thru! I was on the golf tees. Once I got the hang of when to hit the escape button it worked like a charm! I did get below half of my laff points and did it a couple of snacks, but nothing like before! Thanks everyone!

The best strategy, is to get the (back) corner tables.... therefore when he calls fore, you have more room to jump back. Thats how i do it , and i never get hit, unless he throws the gears. I usually come out with 75 laff, so its better than what i used to come out with.

Too bad there aren't 8 corners in the room otherwise everyone could use that strategy

To add to this. I have also found that if he yells 'Fore' and you aren't on a table, by going to one and jumping up you also miss the gears. I've done this successfully also when he targets me with a golf shot.
Last night, though, I got hit three times in a row because I got all turned around! Yikes!
And, as someone else mentioned if you hit the ESC key and still have the Ctrl key down you go back to your computer screen, which is not helpful!

The gears always hit me. I'm not fast enough or he has it in for me. Either way it is usually the cause of my laff points going down (that or someone whispering to me and trying to answer while not paying attention) AKKKK when he yells fore after fore after fore. Should I be on the table? Off the table? Was I quick enough? TOO MUCH PRESSURE!

Lol, in the last CEO I did, I was the only golfer of the 8 of us there. I finally decided to just join everyone else, since I wasn't really doing anything by myself. Anyway, I'm usually on the golf tee, and once he yells "FORE", I jump off (also after an occasional last second shot) and back away. This has always worked for me, unless someone was running behind me when he yelled "FORE", in which case, I'm pretty much doomed.

I'm noticing a lot less golfing going on as time passes. Either way works for me. I will find an empty table and squirt
