V2.0 cogs and Math
View Single PostView Single Post

I found this on TTC. I don't know how to do nice little links so I just copy/pasted the pertinent info.

I would like to give the credit to The Dogfather at TTC. I could never figured this out on my own.

And I Quote:

"Version 2.0 Cogs:
The new V2.0 cogs are the newest addition of cogs to the cog family. They are more advanced than the old V1.0 cogs that are found in other cog HQs. The new V2.0 cogs have a much stronger inner skeleton, as compared to V1.0 cogs, that emerges once the outer shell is destroyed. This makes the new V2.0 cogs more notorious than ever before, because instead of having to destroy a cog once like the V1.0 cogs, V2.0 cogs need to be destroyed twice.

Once a V2.0 cog is destroyed, the inner skeleton (skelecog) appears of the same initial level and life points as the original outer shell. The skelecog does not attack once it emerges. Any gags that are not used in destroying the outer shell (initial cog) will be immediately used on the skelecog once it emerges. Although the V2.0 cogs do need to be destroyed twice, lure and combo bonus points caused by gags that go beyond the maximum life points of the outer shell go against the skelecog.

Example:
A V2.0 level 12 The Big Cheese (Boss Battle) - 200 Life Points
Gags: Lure, Cake - 100, Organic Cake - 110, Organic Whole Cream Pie - 44

(100+110+44) = 254 total hit points
Lure Bonus Points - 127 (Orange Number, 50% of damage)
Combo Bonus Points - 51 (Yellow Number, 20% of damage)

Since the original 254 points are enough to destroy The Big Cheese level 12, all of the 127 lure bonus points and the 51 combo bonus points are applied to the skelecog.

Skelecog: 200 Life Points
(200-127-51) = 22 Life Points remaining

Although the skelecog has only 22 life points remaining, when he emerges he will be green."

Sweet, at least now they make more sense to me. Of course now I have to do math...... Rolling Eyes

Tina was telling me about what she had read (see above post) last night. I would also contend that the 54 over the 200 required may also be used. This is only speculation on my part though, I am sure the other poster has tested. My only test with this example. On last group of cogs, all level 11 with a few 2.0's, we dropped two boats on them. It killed both the original and skele cog. At least this dispel's my previous misgiving that you must destroy the first cog, before you can start work on the skele.

How will this effect the one fog rule? Since two fogs and two ele's (seemingly the combo of choice for many to dispatch 11's) is more total points than needed to kill the original 11, will that not make 'gag conservation' something that can be done upon the sele's?

No haven't worked out all the math on what they could be dispatched with, will look into that though if I get time this week. But is makes me wonder if going all out on first version of cog, then holding back on skele might develop into a 'less damaging to the toon' way to conserve gags? Just a thought at this point, can't wait to see the possibilities. When I get back home, I plan on developing formulas to come up with possibilities like the old minimum gag charts that exsist now, although secretly hoping that someone beats me to it. Very Happy
