Strategies for using SoS cards in lower laff BOSS battles.

Work In Progress

Since the VP Boss battle is now geared for mid laffs on Toontown. I thought a little strategy guide for using SoS cards effectively, while taking into account the lower laff toons that are now, and really always have been in the VP battles.

The cards below!

The Toons Hit Cards -
Soggy Bottom ****
Soggy Nell****
Sticky Lou ****[/list]

These all work at the same level, and what they do is ensure the gag chosen by the other toons works, or "hits" no matter what.

Situations to use this card:
Lure has been missing a lot!
    Low level lure being used.
One cog left and you want to ensure the toons hit the cog with their gags.
This can also help toonup work. Yes sometimes toonup can miss!
I suspect this may help a doodle trick work, but I've not yet tested it.

The Cogs Miss Cards -
    Julius Wheezer ****
    Mr. Freeze ****
    Flim Flam ***

These all work at the same level also, and what they do is ensure the gags chosen by the COGS miss, no matter what.

Situations to use this card:
Lure has been missing a lot!
    Low level lure being used.
You want a breather to get everyone tooned up and you are out of lure.

Toon Up Cards
-
Madame Chuckle *** 45 laff total
Daffy Don **** 70 laff total
    Flippy ***** 120 laff total

Situations to use these cards:
When no one has toonup, and you all need a toonup.
To ensure everyone is tooned up before ending the cog rounds.

Note: The laff these give are the max given evenly (roughly) divided amoung the toons in the battle with you.

Trap Cards -
Clerk Willy *** 50 damage per cog (will kill a level 5, but not a 6)
Clerk Penny **** 70 damage per cog (will kill a level 6, but not a 7)
Clerk Clara ***** 180 damage per cog (will kill a level 11, but not a 12)

Lure Cards -
Nancy Gas *** 3 rounds (same as Stinky Ned?)
Stinky Ned *** small cog 4 rounds, large cog 3 rounds
    LOM *****

Sound Cards
-
    Barbra Seville *** 40 damage
    Sid Sonata **** 50 damage
    Moe Zart ***** 80 damage

Note: At one time there was a bug with the Barbara Seville card, in that even if 4 fog horns were used, the damage would only be 40, I haven't had the chance to test if this is gone or not.

Drop Cards -
Clumsy Ned *** 60 damage per cog (Kills upto level 6 cogs)
Franz Neckvein **** 100 damage per cog (Kills upto level 8 cogs)
Barnacle Bessie ***** 170 damage per cog (Kills upto level 11 cogs)

Note: You can use these drop cards on a row of lured cogs as long as one cog is unlured after the result of the gags that come before drop. So, for example, you have 3 Level 12 cogs and a level 8 that are all lured, as long as you hit at least one cog, the drop will work, leaving the lured cogs still lured after it's over. It's been thought that this is a bug, so YMMV (Your milage my vary)

Nice work on that list!! Smile As long as I've been playing, I STILL have not seen some of those SOS cards!

Thanks, it's nice to know what does what....reminds me I need to clean out my card file. I missed out on a Sophie Squirt the other night - ACK Shocked - the horror!! But those things do come in handy when on one of my 2-toon toonicide runs thru the bullion. hmph

Thanks for posting this.

I have also used a toons hit card when the second bunch of skeles come out and they are all 10 . It takes a load off when you are sided with ubers and can get a lure hit here and get down to business.

This has to be an uber's best friend! I saw something interesting with one in vp the other nite. Someone played one with other toons picking Juggle, Blue Mag, and a Piano on a 12. Sure enough, the toonup and lure hit...but so did the piano! The best part was that the 12 remained lured when the turn was over. I don't know if that was a glitch or if that is the way it is supposed to work. I do know if you use a Barnacle Bessie (drop SOS) on a lured 12 it will remain lured, but one of the other cogs should be unlured to insure a hit.

Wow, that's pretty strange. I have seen things like that happen while playing, but it was a glitch more than a combo of SOSs or gags chosen! I wouldn't count on that to work every time!

You're right, don't use a Barnacle Bessie on lured cogs. SOSs have missed, and using any sort of drop on lured toons will miss regardless!!

Wow! If these are correct, Whoopsie Daisy was CHEATED out of living a wee bit longer!!!!! I used a Nacy Gas or Stinky Ned, on 2 12's, a 10, and an 8. It was me sitting there trying to hold out until help arrived. I was the only one left on my side in VP, after another toon dies tooning me up( because I hoped the cogs would miss). So I sat there for about 5 seconds with my full 40 laff. I decided to call a friend. I use an SOS lure( how is restock TU going to help me). The cogs are lured for a round. I use my doodle. Then, unexpectedly, the cogs wake up. My poor 40 laff toon did not stand a chance unless I could hold the cogs off until help arrived. So, I died.
