I just started playing this game last week and again totally addicted! Up to level 14 on pirate and 5's and 6's on weapons Sad...... But the thing about this game is I have found many high level pirates to be more than willing to help! I love it, usually never a problem doing my quests quickly. The guild I'm in always has pirates on and asking if I need help! They are all over 30's levels. I was wondering if anyone is in this guild it is "Ladies something"or " something ladies" ( ok thats embarrassing can't remember the name Shocked Embarassed

I didn't get hooked like I did with TT on this game. Must of been a weak year for them to win.... Rolling Eyes
Teamwork (crews) aren't really needed. I think this was a drawback to the game. My little scoop takes out what ever ship I'm hunting. Easy to beat the AI that is used for Sailing. I max my free account out in a couple of weeks and sitting on lots of gold.
I'm in a guild .... Victory Rouges but hardly go "hunting" with them plus I really don't play it.

I've been playing again. I do find it to be a fun change from TT. My character, Shotgun Annie is now a level 20, and working on her Grenade quest. Yes, you do need help at times in the game, but most of the time, you can do a lot of it yourself.

My ship is a level 15 skill now.
I just got my triple barrel shotgun...level 10.
Sword is up to a 8.
Voodoo is up to a level 8.
Cannons stink (I'm usually the one steering the ship) level 5?

I like Pirates....I will continue playing, for now, TT has taken second place. If I do make it back on TT, I'm usually there to play with friends, and am asking them what they need.

So, Pirates is free? Up to what point?
My daughter is now part of the Save VMK campaign bigtime Smile. She made a music video this week as she just learned they are closing down VMK.

I like pirates. I don't LOVE pirates. It was fun in the beginning with the guild I'm in (small but I only play when at least one of them is on just for the yawn thing) To be game of the year when most of the year we were sitting waiting for the big boss battle to come out is a surprise! Granted I could have been leveling up stuff (I'm only at rep 27 and most weapons at 15 except knife I rarely use. Voodoo is at 17) but without quests it's looong and a bit dull. I still pay for it but only am charged 4.95 or something like that a month and it is a nice distraction from TT. Especially between bosses and stuff. Was good to get back on there this weekend for a couple of days. Best game though? Hmmm what else is online ONLY?

Yes you can play for free. Unlike TT you can go anywhere but only get to certain levels with stuff. I think weapons only to 7? Not sure about rep or how far you can go with quests. Varmint can answer that better. I do know you can only buy the smallest ship....and more than likely not the larger weapons as you need to be higher than lvl 7 to get those. IMO it is a better trial than TT gives you only being able to be in TTC.

Hmmm VMK is out? I beta'd that. A zillion years ago! Infact I think it was because of that game I found TT Very Happy Wasn't my thing (more for kids for sure) but sorry to your daughter Miss P that she's losing it Sad

Up to this point Mr. Green
Pirate Varmint Lv12, Sail Lv7, Cannon Lv7, Pistol Lv7, Cutlass Lv7 (max basic account)

The Overall (Rep) Level is determined my what Skill Level you hit...right now you can only get these skills as noted above and they stop getting Skill points once you hit Level 7.

On a free account you only get 40% of the skill points when doing "quests" or if you are just running around killing things...so you level up slower which "gives" you more time before you max your character. You really only get to complete the First main quest (almost complete as the last step is for paying people only).

VMK has to be THE most boring thing in the universe, but my daughter enjoys it. I think it is much more social than TT (picture always saying 'Let's go to my house!'). They do have some games, which I like, but they are more so you can earn credits to buy cool stuff for your house. My daughter did try Pirates this week. She was complaining that it was pretty laggy.

we play some... apparently you can't get your voodoo doll on a free account...after getting the blood from five scorpions we went to visit "what's her name" only to have her say "quit being a cheapskate and buy your kid access"... luckily you can purge quests on here (WISH ttown would let you purge some sometimes).

Always seems too laggy to me...it IS pretty cool though.

I've not had a problem on my new lappy....now on my old computer I experienced lag quite often...to the point of I didn't want to play.

Funny thing is I had to switch back to Vista just to get on pirates. One day I just couldn't log on and yes...it was my graphics card. Since this is really a Vista laptop my card couldn't be upgraded using XP. Pirates runs fine since the switch (always did...well until I couldn't log on anymore Razz) but now TT is very very laggy for me where before I haven't had a problem on TT in forever. Go figure.....

I tried it... It was ok. I didnt find it all that fantastic. It was REALLY laggy and the graphics werent smooth at all on my lappy (with Vista. Boooooo Vista! It makes me want to do bad things to my computer... pc-pissed smiley )

The most entertaining part to me was sailing and taking down ships. i just so happened to be awesome at it lol.

The thing I did notice was that it was an exact cross between Toontown and World of Warcraft. You might think that would sound fun, but it was difficult. I couldn't really get into it. So sue me.

Have you been to Disney Quest in Orlando (in Downtown Disney)? There is a Pirates of the Caribbean game (bottom floor of Disney Quest) where you wear virtual reality/3D headsets and "ride" a ship and fight other pirates and sink them by shooting "real" cannons. The screen takes up 3 of the 4 walls in the soundproof room you are in. About 6-8 people can play together and one is the captain. It is really fun (I like being the captain of course--steering the ship). Very Happy

Last time we were done to Disney, we had tickets for Disney Quest. Pretty awesome stuff there!! Hubby and I were the "lucky ones" to get to sit with Stevie the whole time while the boys had a blast playing there. We'll have to try again since Stevie is a bit older...although it'll still be tough keeping him under raps.

Not sure if the boys tried the PotC or not when they were running wild in the Quest.

Woooow that sounds awesome!

Sadly, I have never been to Disney anything in Orlando Crying or Very sad

But my boyfriend plans on taking me there asap because he knows that Disneyland just so happens to be my favorite place on earth! (So I'm pretty sure that if Orlando doesnt replace it, I can safely say it will come in close second!)
