Frustration!
View Single PostView Single Post

I just finished a random CFO in NR, and it wasn't nice. I won't name names, but most of the toons were very rude! They kept stinking me when I tried to crane. Now, I am good at craning, so what was the deal?!? I can understand if I needed practice, or was low. Nealy everyone on the run was a rober baron. I'm a level 47. At least 4 of the toons were ganging up on me and would't stomp goons so i would get hit with the light. COME ON!

Anyway, I'm a little ticked. I have never had this issue before and have always been polite and a fairly good player in general. The cranes I jumped on were empty (with the exception of the very first). All I kept saying was "Have fun!"

And, a couple of the stinking toons, landed safes at the wrong time, WHICH I HELPED TO REMOVE!

Grrrrr.

Some toons feel entitled to "their crane." The crane may have appeared empty but it was still "their crane."

Therefor, in their opinion you were in the wrong not them. (I'm not saying you were- its their opinion.)

Go figure!

I have a crane!!! I'm entitled to it. I bought it for 1,000,000,000 jellybeans! Anyone on my crane will suffer great consequences from the Toontown gods!!! Shocked

WOW, sorry this happened to you!! I was in with a dark toon in the front 3 over the weekend. Needed 800 thingies and I thought for sure an invasion run would get it or get me close. The dark toon that will remain nameless wouldn't wait for the invasion! We kept say wait, lets catch the next one, There is a cog invasion. Nothing stopped her/her. Ended up needing another front 3 to get my thingies. It was frustrating!! I do not enjoy randoms as much as I used to. I am so thankful from all my friends here. You guys are great!!! Smile

I didn't buy one, but I had my name permantly inscribed on one...well, etched it with a paper clip... Laughing

Seriously: I feel for you. I don't know what the problem is with some people. Do they get their jollies that way? Or feel jusitified because maybe you said something you didn't like? Can you believe some toons will actually try to kill another off just for saying something like "You first" (they feel it's bossy, not helpful)?? Actual true story! Rolling Eyes

Hope the next one goes better. Smile

Wait! "You first" is bossy? Wow! I guess I'm the bossiest toon in the tooniverse. Sorry, didn't mean to offend everybody. What should I say? "Please select your gag, so that I can make sure you won't die when you are using a cupcake on a lvl 12?" OR "My gags are maxed and yours are not, so lets work on that?"

Yeah, I was trying to be helpful when I said it, too! Who knew? Confused

Seriously, though...there was a thread or two on TTC a long time ago about this. I could tell you the toons, but I think they quit anyway. Cool

I had a somewhat similair experience yesterday in the CFO. There was a 81 (or so) laff dog that couldn't have had much experience in TT because he wanted to use sound no matter what happened. There wasn't anything I could do to stop him. I'd say "I'm going to use lure." and "Don't use sound on lured cogs.", but lah de dah, he didn't really care. He used an aoogah on 4 lvl 12's after we had all decided to use lure. At this point I even tried to just sacrifice him because the cogs were all going at him. I guess it wasn't his first time because he whipped out a TU unite after a little while. Somehow, we all made it throught the cog round. By the way, he was constantly asking "May I operate the crane?" the whole time. I was thinking, if he doesn't have enough common sense to not use an aoogah on lvl 12's, then how would he operate the crane?!? I had 3 other SFs with me, and I told them all to prevent him getting a crane at all costs. Well, my strategy didn't work. He got a crane and proceded to throw safes at the CFO, therefore giving the rest of us craners some extra work. Once he got bumped off the crane, he went from crane to crane asking "May I operate the crane?" over and over. I kept saying "No!!!", but he didn't really care. He stole the crane whenever someone got knocked off, and would then giving the CFO a helmet. I have absolutely no clue how, but everyone made it through. He was greeted by a chorous of "You stink!" when he got his gag experience (all sound by the way). I really hope that he wasn't greifing, but that would mean that I'm very sorry to whoever goes a in future CFOs wuth him.

I guess we should thank these stinkers for making us appreciate each other more. I really enjoy boss battles and mint/golf runs with friends because we look after each other, and have respect for each other. I have had some nasty experiences too, but really way more good then bad.

I missed the TTF run last night, rats!!

I love running with friends but need lots of thingies now and have to do a lot of runs with randoms included in the run. I can honestly say that I have way more good runs than bad ones. Last night for example, I was in Summit doing a bullion mint run and needed invasion to finish off the 5500 bucks I needed for tonight. Right at the last second the invasion ended. I went for gags and when I got back to do another run two of the toons who were with me on the other run were at the elevator and went with me on another run. We had another great run and a lot of fun. Yes there are some stinkers out there but there are a lot of really nice players out there as well.

Lady Penny will verify that I can get really irritated with the Stinkers too, and somehow I've managed to run a couple of times with the SAME stinker. IT was a Blue dog laff 81 so it may have been the same dog. (used whistle when I lured 3 lvl 12's) He had me down to under 30 lp a couple of times in vp. Not very nice. Said ha ha (and then he tooned me up) Wish I could remember his name, I'm nervous around blue dogs hee hee.

See you guys tonight! Pedaljinks (Denise)

3 cats attempted to grief me in the Buillion Mint in Nutty River last night...Little Petunia is the only one I remember. They went through QUITE a bit just to waste my time...I mean come on, if a toon is over a 100 lps and they have their 7's you can't make them sad...just a collossal waste of time. I got down to 8 lps and they were doing all the usual- ha ha, are you new here, oops, Bye!, See Ya!, sorry, choosing TU on me then changing it, choosing sound then passing at 1 second left so I took the damage. Whatever! I got unites kids...nice try. happy4 I didn't use them because I did not want to "share" anything with them, I wasn't going to give them the satisfaction. I didn't use any 7's for the same reason....nope I just told them That's Funny, and , You guys are Great!, Good Teamwork! I'm guessing it's the same Criminal Mentality that causes kids to deface and vandalize property with no apparent motive...Maybe there is some juvenile jollies to be had from doing what they did to me (wasted a little bit of my time) But I SURE can't see any kind benefit from that activity... Funny? not if the Toon you're trying to Grief isn't whining. I'll Never ask for a toon up in battle, if the Toons you are with don't just do it automatically, they are either griefing you ,and WANT you to Beg (not this Toon), or they don't have it so it's pointless. Nope, My Duck is as Cool as Day Old Bathwater...With the exception of Boss Battles, there isn't anything I haven't done on my own before and I really don't need your help now, At the same time...I'm not going to kill all these cogs for you to get your BUX/Merits etc while watching me fight the cogs AND your lame gag selections. I'll still get my bucks, I'll just do it without you miscreants...I bet your parents are proud!
Nope, Nice try Little Petunia and your wormy little Kitty Buddies, I'm new to Toon Town, NOT new to gaming....you CAN'T beat me...in anything . Mr. Green
Between all the toons "PARKED" in Nutty River, and the Juvenile Delinquints trying to grief you...it's getting hard to do "normal" stuff in there.

I need 5500 merits and last night I was in summit. I ran into 2 really great toons that I added to my friends list, one is a baby toon but I suspect she is a 2nd generation baby because she knew all about the invasion and the glitch where you jump from the warehouse and press f9 at the wall, played the right gags at the right time etc... The other was a high level horse working trap!! Imagine how excited I was to run into some REALLY nice toons and we worked trap together. I did 3 runs with them before I collapsed from exhaustion at 1:30 am! They even waited 10 minutes at the center silo for an invasion at the last run, I finally said Lets Go cause it was late and I was tired. They didn't need merits at all, just wanted to play. It was nice!

Denise does get very frustrated with some toons so I try to give each one the benefit of a doubt. Of course there are times when it is obviouse griefing but other times it could just be unexperienced toons or just poor game play. I know I have made bad decisions before, A LOT!!

I'm new to this group. I wanna let you know.....All cats aren't bad!!!!! lol

I liked what you said about how you won your battle. Never give up and don't give the BAD TOONS the satisfaction of knowing you're frustrated.

I fought with little toons yesterday and had to restrain myself from saying STOP HORSING AROUND cuz they just didn't know what to do. I fought the battle the way I thought it should go and we won. It helps when you are 98 LAFF and have Sound, Squirt and Throw maxed!!

When I'm running around Donald duck land or Minnie...I just come prepared with as many toon up gags as I have available!

Patricia (yellow 98 laffer cat)

Hi Snowynight. I picked the phrase out of your note below in bold. I have gone into the mint 2 times and didn't know this glitch. I was sooooooooooo frustrated cuz the friends I went with could not tell me what to do. They had BIG laff and were able to go on. I had to leave the mint.

Can you tell me again exactly what to do? Is this the mint where you go next to a barrel and a high pile of pallets or whatever? The toons went into the small space, jump, opened their book and then somehow got on the high ledge above.

Thanks for the help.

Patricia (yellow cat girl w/ 98 laff)

Hi there! I'm not Snowynight, but I can help with your question. The glitch Snowynight is talking about is in the factory, not the mint. The factory glitch is a fast way to get past the warehouse room where all the goons with the headlights are running around--the room where you can (after you defeat the cogs in there) step on the switches to smash the goons. Instead of smashing the goons, you can go over to the tall wall that is right beside the door where you entered the warehouse room, face that wall, hit jump and F9 at the same time. You should be instantly transported to the top of that wall and find yourself in among a bunch of boxes and stuff. Keep going forward and you'll find yourself near the door that leads out to the silo elevators.

The mint glitch that you're talking about by the barrel is a fast way to bypass the jumping around that's otherwise necessary in that room. Jump behind that barrel (if you're not laggy, you might have to hit F9 at the same time you jump in order to get your toon behind the barrel). You want your toon smashed in there good and tight next to the barrel--your screen should be "shaking" a little. Hit F8 twice to open and close the sticker book, and you'll find yourself in the gray. If, after you close your book, you're not seeing the empty gray space, then stuff your toon in tighter behind that barrel (you want to be on the right of the barrel, not the left) and try it again. Once you get to the "empty gray space" go forward a few steps and turn left, you'll see the place you want to be right in front of you. Usually you'll end up where you want to be if you just go forward toward it--occasionally you'll end up "underneath" it--if you end up underneath where you want to be, go toward the stairway/hallway area that you can see above you. Usually you'll pop up where you're supposed to be once you get underneath the stairs.
