OK what is a Sonic? I have never heard of them. I am on the dork team with Queen Thundercloud, my poor kids get a soft drink maybe 5 times a year and that is when we are out somewhere and we have no options because we are living in Mexico where the fruit juice has more sugar than coke. Coke and Pepsi definitely taste different but both taste bad.

| funnysmirk : | | Definte fav is SONIC ice tea w/cranberry. Love the ice. We too have at least one bag in the freezer at all times. Here in sunny AZ we couldn't make it without the very environmentally unfriendly styrofoam cups. They can make a drink last all day! My dd loves the Ocean Water and my hubby takes his Diet Coke with lime. I would say we are there for happy hour at least 3 days a week since it is the hottest time of the day - only a SONIC addict would be out and about then. |
YAY! Another vote for Sonic ice tea w/cranberry!!!! I prefer it with their unsweet tea (the cranberry juice sweetens it MORE than enough for me, as usually I am in the Queen Thunderthud court, just give me UNsweet tea!!) Which do you add your cranberry to, the sweet or the unsweet?

Sonic is an awesome (drinks anyway) drive up restaurant where you can eat in your car (If that is allowed). They can hang a tray on your window with your food on it. Their have the small round crunchy ice that is easy to chomp on...and the cups they put it in make it last longer.
I would equate their regular hamburger with that of a Dairy Queen.

Sonice -- Definitely the unsweet tea with the cranberry. I love going between 2-4 because the drinks are 1/2 price! Right now they have 99 cent shakes too. They are small...just big enough to tast sweet but not to where I feel like I really did cheat on my diet. The banana ones are to die for. I love their onion rings too but haven't had one in a really long time.
Any of you from the Midwest? I dearly miss a place called Steak and Shake. I loved their shakes and can't find anything out here even close. I got real vanilla cokes there all the time and would kill for an order of chilli mac!

Yummm--we have Steak and Shake here in the South too. My son loves their shakes--he gets the regular size chocolate and I get the kid sized strawberry.

Owoooo I am with you on Steak and Shake. I miss it as well as there aren't any where I live, but we used to eat at one in IL and KS and I loved the chili mac as well. It is hard to describe the taste of it, but it's soooooo good. Yeah not a drink so call a mod. There are some in Kentucky so when we last drove out to KS we stopped at it there and back.
Being as it's 7-11 I might have to take my kids there for a slurpee. There included a drink lol.

I just love bringin old threads back to life. Actually, I am on for the first time in a while and gettin caught up. Interesting thread y'all have here. I reckon a fella could add one drink vote, for the road, kinda... I vote...
Pineapple Malt! Not the ratty tatty slogs from most soda slings, talkin bout a real pint-and-a-half or so of excellent vanilla ice cream blended with about a tablespoon and a half of crushed pineapple and a teaspoon and a half of regular malt. Toss in just enough milk to get it all blended into a truly exquisite head-freezing evening supper finisher.

ICY COLD CHOCOLATE MILK!
Although I prefer Pepsi over Coke, A&W RootBeer has been the ONLY soda in my fridge for the past 10 years.
I dont think I could drink Coke.. Pepsi was the winner in my blind taste test. I thought I was the only one who liked Pepsi with lemon, then they came out with Pepsi Twist ROFL freaked me out! I do like soda in the glass bottles(they dont bring them here anymore ) for some reason it tastes better in the bottle than can...
Here on Guam, we dont have much since we're in the middle of the pacific ocean, we do have a Steaks & Shakes, but I have yet to go there. We dont have a Sonic here, I wish we did though.
So, other than Rootbeer, water is the main liquid refresher... water in a BIG CUP with lots of ice... and by big i mean like a 48oz pitcher ROFL.. and thats just for me!

I love Coke, but Pepsi seems nasty to me. For some people it's the other way around. I think it's like butter vs. margarine. I grew up on margarine, so butter tastes weird to me.
I'm the only person I've ever met who thinks milk tastes horrible.
I don't like root beer...it's just...odd.
For a long time I didn't like tea, but it's really starting to grow on me.
Iced tea is a different story. Brisk Raspberry Iced Tea = WIN. It tastes like fruit roll-ups.
But if I had to pick a favorite, it'd be virgin strawberry daiquiris. <3
I see commercials for Sonic all the time, but I've never seen one in my area, which stinks because the commercials are always for some really good looking cookie dough or strawberry drink thing...

Hey, Bill, we were at Sonic the other day for lunch. I wanted to try something different for my drink. And I thought back to this thread. So in honor of you, sir, I tried a cranberry sweet tea. It was okay, but I think I'll stick with my Route 44 Diet Cherry Limeaide.

Milk???? But...but....that's HEALTHY?!?!?!?!?! BTW very hard to find glass bottles here either. Plastic is all over but only special things bring out a glass bottle or two.
