Two Operator - four toon boss battle - Anyone interested?
View Single PostView Single Post

Ok, we've had a good discussion about running two toons in CCG runs. It seems to me that the general opinion is that this is unacceptable unless it is to save a late load that may not go off with a low number of toons.

What I would like to propose is an organized event wherein those of us who operate two toons can get together and have some fun!!

Please post if you are interested in some two operator, 4 toon boss battles. This will be on OPEN.

I've done a VP this way with Lady Z and had a blast, We tried a CFO yesterday and had him flashing but couldn't seal the deal (or next attempt will be this afternoon).

So who's up for some good fun? VP and CFO, mint races, anything goes.

______________________________________________________________

Ok, thanks for the responses. Here is the list of folks who've expressed intrest:

Crazy Orville Bumbleberry
Jacee Lee (Bring it Girl!!!)
LittleSpike (Welcome back to TT my friend.)
Granny Rosie (says VP only, but I think we will get her to CFO too, It's only beans and pride Granny!!!)
Lady Z (even though she didn't actually say it, I'm volunteering her)
Queen Purplewhip (VP only until she gets her son's cash suit)
Granny Pickles (Woo Hoo, You'll rock at this girly!!)
shazam!! (yes, it is an event on open)
Clover (Hooray!)

I'm a male so I am event organizing challenged. I was thinking about maybe our first round of this being this Saturday (25 Feb) at say 9 Eastern, 8 Central and 6 for the West Coasters. We will do VP first then move to the CFO. If that isn't a good time, let me know. The CCG CFO training run will be on 24 Feb, so I may not be able to do both VP and CFO for this one, I've committed two toons to the training.

I think we could all just meet in the lobby with our toons and then team up? What is your opinion?

A couple of hints about this type of run:

Don't be afraid to take hits during cog/skele round.
Use a coin, paperclip or old ID card (that is what I use) to keep your second toon jumping in the background of VP if you are afraid of him going sad from missed jumps.
Some may be more comfortable getting codes for sf chat during the cog/skele. If you want to do that, I'd suggest sending them via prillion during our team gathering in the lobby.
Don't wait in the pit, go on into the lobby, as we don't want to attract randoms.

I think there is some method to the way toons line up in the battles based upon the way they load the ele, I've never figured it out though, lol.

Per the Slovokian Proverb :
"If all the fools carried sticks, firewood would be scarce"
Thank goodness in my neighborhood, they outlawed wood burning fireplaces. We just turn on the switch and , bingo, fire.
Gotta love that new technology. Least it's better than my friends up the hill, they watch the fireplace on their big screen TV.
They must carry extra sticks.

Woo hoo! I can actually do this now! For a VP it would be Queen and my son's toon Loony Nickelbouncer (64 laff). Loony is not CFO ready yet but could join mints or facs.

Set a date and time so I can have a goal to complete those dang merits!
<scratches chin thoughtfully realizing the too toons can run facs together too now>

Hey, have we thought about two-toon GSW racing yet LOL!

I have not had alot of practice running 2 toons. I've done 2 mints and 2 facs so far the rest I made it easy on myself and just did lots of buildings. However I would like to try a boss battle as theres no running around bumping into walls, lol!

Waaaaaa, no fair! I do have a deserted toon on Mike's account. You guys going to make me split up my attention even more trying to build up a 5th toon just so I can try and operate two at once? I'll just go of and sulk now.

I'd be willing to give this a try! If we're talking test, I only have toons ready for VP, but if it's open I have toons for either one.

As for loading secrets....someone on TTC gave me this tip and so far I've found it to be consistant, but that could always be a fluke! Make sure there is one toon between each of yours and your toons should go to the same side. Each time I've done this, my toons have gone to the same side....but when they're side by side in the ele it seems to be random.

The line up in the elevator should look like this:

Your toon, The other person's toon, Your 2nd toon, The other person's second toon...it's always worked for me, but if it doesn't for someone else I don't want to be pie'd to death! Razz Bring on the wet noodles please!! Laughing

I've gotten tips on how to get them on the same side for the skelli round, but I've found no consistancies there. Some say click both fast, some say click both slow, some say to make sure you click last...I've tried all of these and it's hit and miss on the 2nd round. <shrug>

I'll do my very best to be there!!

Not a bad idea, although he's still mad at me for leaving him sad and gagless when I alt'ed him out for my 2 toon CFO adventure. I guess I could make a note of how his gags were packed, how many jb's he has and restore him to his pre-used state LOL.

Some think it makes a difference as to where you are standing. That if you are grouped together while waiting for the VP to get to the top, you will be grouped at the skeles. I don't think this works, though.

TWO monkeys can do this. That is if you can prove that you are one operator. Perhaps invite one of us to your estate and we'll go from there! lol

You can run 4 thru cog battle and 2 thru the VP or CFO and not have the 2 toons go sad or lose remaining gags.
For example, when Fuzzysocks and I ended up in 2 person, the 2 other toons went back to the PG after the cogs
and we finished the CFO. (this was with Sallann and Grannie when Grannie disco'ed). Also in the aborted Uber VP last night, we finished 1st round of cogs and then TP'ed back to PG when just 2 toons were left. We probably could have gone on, but, it wasn't as much fun for me when you guys went sad. As long as you don't ALTF4 after the cogs line up, you can still run 4, , fight the cogs 2 on a side, then go back to PG on one toon and just focus on one toon in the craning or pieing. Of course, you can always leave a toon jumping in the VP or try to position both of your toons together in the CFO. I think there are many options to bringing 2 toons on 2 accounts without sadualties.

Sorry about the uber VP. I was too bummed to go for a 2nd try. We would of had better luck going in as 4 and leaving behind the random.
I too heard that if you huddle together after the cog round you'll have a higher chance of being sided together in skelis. It seems to half work, lol!

Sorry about that too LOL. My sentiments exactly, we would have been fine had we not had that random. I swear I did have a cake on that 11 before time ran out, it was the only thing I could do to compensate for his choices. I'm not sure why it didn't take. I ended up taking Ladybug to a regular ccg run, although I'm kicking myself for it now.

Sung to 99 bottles of beer on the wall:
5500 merits to VP, 5500 merits. One short run around, one forman down, 5400 merits to VP. . . .

Roger Spike, good point. I didn't think of that when I was replying to Heather, lol.

I will probably leave my toons in as I like to keep a couple needing merits/bux and all of them are still in for promotions. One advantage to leaving them in the battle is that at least in the CFO he will throw gears at them. I've never noticed if he does in VP, because my view of the playing field is different there.

and ladies. One day, I'll be able to make the VP uber again. One day.

As a follow-on, some strategy tips?
View Single PostView Single Post

Orville,

Can you post some strategy tips on your VP exploits?

Some tips from some past 2 person CFO's.
1- 4 toon, 2 toons on the crane
This was my 1st 2 person CFO crane with Fuzzysocks. 2 toons left after the cogs, One disco'ed and the other needed to go. Basically the 2 of us stomped our own goons, and then lined up on cranes on sep. sides. I stomped 2-3 goons at a time. We got the 1st stun and proceeded to safe him. When the orange hats came, I didn't know about setting up safes in each crane zone, so I stomped some goons for Fuzzysocks while he knocked the safe off and then went to crane to throw some goons. We got lucky and had him red, then it went pretty pretty quick from there.

2- 2 toons, 2 person crane, then one toon disco'ed
This time I knew better to set up safes in each zone. We stomped our own goons till the initial stun. Again, multiple safe hits got him orange pretty quick. Then the other toon disco'ed. Things didn't get hairy till he was red, then the redhats came out. I ended up with a bunch of safe in front of his door, so the red hats commited "goonicide", leaving 2 crane zones pretty clear. I stomped a bunch of goons, then set up safes on each zone. By then safes were on his head almost as soon as you knocked them off. I got lucky and threw a live goons, stunned him and then goon'ed him again.
I was on my 77 laffer, no Lure and the other toon was 116-117 laff, MAX'ed no Trap for this run

3- 2 toon, 2 person crane, but we went sad...
In this one we got thru all the cogs with no SOS'es, no Unites. Toons were MAX'ed no drop and MAX'ed no trap. So getting thru the cogs without re-stock unites or any SOS'es is very do-able. What I learned from this one is to load up on gags to LVL 4 on throw, squirt, no weenie gags. Don't over-stock on TU, I took 15 (3 juggling cubes, 5 pixie dust, 7 canes), I still had 4-5 left, so I think you can bring 15 or less TU on each toon and be fine. The crane battle went to the CFO at red, but we had difficulty getting safes off before getting targeted with gear hits.

So..
Doing 2 operator, 4 toon CFO seems very do-able. Key things I learned were:
1- In cog battle, early on, leave the little guys, save your lures and TU, take out the 1st 12 with gag combos
take a few hits from th elittel guys
2- In the middle of the cog battles, we were getting so bored with taking out cogs one at a time. We started to sound.
Fog and ele combos, alternating between our toons went fine until one of you gets below ~ 40-50 laff. If you can take out 2 cogs with sound and damage the other 2, that works. With 2 damaged cogs and 2 fresh ones, the next round the lower laff can lure, the other toon can either take out one more cog or toon up. I think you should toon-up but taking out one more cog works as well as long as the 3 remaining cogs aren't LVL 10,11,'s or 12's
3- Toward the end, save enough big gags to take out a few remaining lvl 11 or 12 cogs. A Piano and squirt, a cake and cream pie per toon, a couple rain clouds is excellent. 1st time we did this we were down to the LAST cog and we had to burn a re-stock, we had tons of TU, some weenie gags though and a few lures. So bring some firepower!

I counted 62 cogs in this round, but the number could vary. In some regular runs I counted between 29-35 cogs per round when you have toons on both sides in the CFO cog battle

Craning:
1- Starting out: Stomp 2-3 goons at a time, then go to cranes. Set up each crane site with your 2 safes (next to, behind or in front of your crane for quick access, whatever you prefer. I like mine on the side away from the CFO doors so I can run out oand stomp a few goons without obstruction).
2- If he targets you , jump off your crane, You can jump back on or stomp a few goons. I like to move to another crane site, set up safes, and pick up a few goons I stomped on the way and go for it again!
2- Once you get him to the 1st stun, try to get as many multiple safe hits in. I think the CFO has 500 health, so 3-4 multiple safe hits with 2 toons can take him down to orange or red. I've had safe hits as low as -2 and as good as -50. On average a high hit to his head will get you 40+ damage and you might get 2-3 of these in before he comes out of stun.
3- Stomp 1-2 goons and get him to the 2nd stun, safe him again.
4- If the goons start to swarm, you can drop a few safes or sweep, (throw and let the safe slide) to clear some goons out. They will replenish, so this only works to buy a little time. Then stomp a few more goons, and see if you can get him to the 3rd stun and red or flashing red.
DECISION TIME:
5- If it gets this far, he will be getting a safe on his head falling from the ceiling really regularly. Here you either need to divide up and have one toon on the crane ready to take of his helmet and the other stomp and get ready to jump on a crane and throw a goon. If you have lag and can't get his helmet off, swap places and one toon can run into the CFO to get him to squat, the other can throw a safe to kncok his helmet off. Then the toon who bumped into the CFO can stomp and the craner can either throw a live goon or maybe pick up a stunned one. You'll need 2-3 goon hits sometimes to get him from red to stun or red to flashing red. NOW you are really , really close
EMERGENCY TIME:
6- You may accidentally or on purpose end up with safes in front of the CFO's doors. When the goons come out, they explode. This buys you time to contain the swarm to one side. If for some reason both doors get blocked, goons will not get replenished. So If you have just 3-5 goons wandering about, make them count.
7- Running out of goons: If you run out of goons you will have to move a safe from the door and face a bunch of goons in a swarm. Move to the other side. Set up your safes. Wait for a few goons to wander over to your side. Stomp a afew and quickly get on a crane to knock the safe off his head. Then quickly grab a stunned or live goon and hope you can stun him. Else you will need to step off the crane, avoid the gear hit, get back on and repeat this. Waiting with a safe may not be an option.

All in all it is a real rush and lots of fun!
