| nunyadambusiness : | Our VP run this evening was griefed by 2 toons using the elevator glitch. When the doors closed, it left Peppy, Princess Marigold Dandydoodle, Chocoholic, and Princess Ladybug Bageltoes.
By the time I noticed what was happening, it was too late to jump off, as I would have stranded the others. I tried to convey to the others to alt-F4, but the only one that caught that was Princess Marigold.
I heard Chocoholic and Princess Ladybug go sad on the other side. I managed to kill off the cogs and alt'd out between cog rounds.
Sorry guys, wish there was some way to warn you guys quicker. |
Thanks, Orville and Wiley, for helping my dawg get her measley 60 merits so I could join the above toons for a revenge VP! Awesome run, thanks!
Thanks, Ricky, for saving my poor pooch's life!! During the pie fight, my computer froze and all I could see was gray. When I finally got unstuck, Ricky was pieing me and my laff was down in the 40's! LOL! I am soooooo sorry about that, I'm just so glad I had a "hero" and was able to finish.
Nice run, everyone! Looking forward to the next one, just let me reboot first! HAHAHAHA!

| Lucy Lu : | | Can we have a backup district? Lots of other toons hanging around that last run, I don't know who is a TTF toon and who isn't. *talk amongst yourselves* |
| Granny MoMo : | | Why not make a thread or a link that shows each member and our toons?? I have trouble remembering who's who around here, myself. |
A backup district is a good idea but it will not get rid of the problem of knowing who is and who is not a TTF. On last nights run I know of two different people that had some friends with us. If you are not S/F with the ones that have friends you have no way to know.
Nunya, sorry to hear you had some trouble but maybe they were not griefing ~ maybe it was the smell that got to them!

Wow, I didn't realize you'd been stuck for so long. I saw you fall in 2 consecutive jumps and noticed you weren't throwing any pies, so I was pretty sure you were frozen. So glad you made it back! Princess Ladybug didn't know there'd be so many great toons out for the revenge run, or she might have just left that stinky old cat Ricky at home. She REALLY wants to move into her MS suit tonight, though. Do I hear an Uber run calling to me?

Which brings up another subject. Is inviting non TTF toons to come with us ok? An old friend of mine who is rarely on anymore just happened to be on right before VP last night. I invited him to come with us, and since I knew there would be several ubers there, I made sure that he knew what strategy to use. I also made a point to tell him that if there were too many toons he wouldn't be able to load...that the members of the group had first priority. (BTW he must have enjoyed the run because he joined Toontown Friends a few minutes later)
So, what is our "policy" on inviting non member friends?

I for one have no problem with anyone coming on our runs. I am here to have fun with some great toons and maybe a laff or two. As long as they don't stink, want to have fun and have some idea how to play I say "Bring em on!"

How can our members have priority if we don't know who they are? Just wondering if we are going to actually try to load with only each other or are we going to just load. Last night there were so many toons I didn't recognize. My hubby got left out but when I got off to let him on it would not let him board (even though he was ready) so I went ahead and went. I guess I am sort of thinking out loud here myself -- but if we don't know who everyone is it would be impossible to limit it in any way, and that includes the random possible griefers am I right? The only solution I can think of is to do signups and make teams beforehand - and personally that does not appeal to me.
Also do we have any kind of shuffle policy - thinking of if friends want to be sure they go together? I will go with whoever I end up with but just thinking that may end up a problem if we don't think about it now, now that we are attracting bigger crowds.

Here is how easy this should be:
1. Meet in the pit for some Spam TPing and Stinkies.
2. On the hour go into the lobby.
3. TRY to form teams at the bottom of the stairs. (This did not work so well last night)
4. Walk to the elevator.
5. Get on the elevator. Once on DO NOT get off. (If I wanted to shuffle I would not be with friends.)
6. Throw some pies, blow some horns, watch Lady Z's lure miss and use some Toon Up.
7. Dance.
8. Go to the next battle.
9. See number 1 above.
If we pick up some randoms lets hope they are not griefing. If they are and we go sad we can always run again.
I hate rules and think once we start adding this and that and making list and you can but you can not stuff it takes the fun out.
Other then NO SHUFFLE and trying to make sure the ubers are not all on the same team I don't really see anything we need to put in a "Rulebook" Lets go fight the VP/CFO and have same laffs.

What I noticed last night is there were toons that aren't from this site in that district when I got there. That was at about 10 mins before the hour. If others are trying to get a run in that district I think we should go to a backup district right before the hour. As this site grows you are never gonna be able to know who's who but if we start in a pretty empty district our chances of loading with mostly toons from this site will be greater.
I say bring friends, I know Lucky Charm will be with me alot and he is not much for forums so he is not a member here-not yet anyway.
I think most of us, I hope, will board with anyone. I won't be spending anytime shuffling, that isn't what I'm looking for. I would rather keep it simple - lists and forming groups make it too complicated.

I REALLY hate to admit it Zig, but I think your right. Too many rules will take out the fun...and who wants that? Not me!
I tend to be so organized with things that it just drives people crazy...I'll stick to just organizing any "Special Runs" that I plan, and not worry about the regular runs

I am all about bring your friends the more the merrier.
I also feel there should be one night a week dedicated toward "Special Runs"
I would like to see where a featured member can call the Specialty of this run....
The no shuffle is a given ... There shall not be any shuffling, ever! please!
And as far as randoms I really don't think we should try to run from too many of them they may
end up being people that run and find us to be an amazing group....tracks us down and we may end
up with some Kick Butt new members .... But whatever the majority here wants I am all for you all
Kick Some Cog Butt and I think y'all are Super Swell to hang with... Fo Sho!

DITTO!
I agree, too much "organization" and "micromanagement" would take the fun out of it. And that's the idea of TTF, to have fun with friends!
As for having others tag along, why not? If they turn out to be griefers, then we just add them to our Most (Un)Wanted list! LOL!

I completely agree, I was just wondering I like your list though, and I quoted it here just in case you attempt to remove it later! Thanks for mentioning my lure, and that reminds me. Is there any possiblility that one of those special runs could be a lure training run? I think Pinkersmirk and Granny Pickles would be interested in that as well.

It is NOT a LIST. As you should know I do not like list!
Lets think of it as a step by step instruction manual provided for those that need such things as list and manuals.

Love the LIST! (if it walks like a duck..... )
BTW could use that lure training myself! Oddly enough it was working in bullion today!
Had a total DUH day today. Looked at the schedule I had printed out and was going to make the 1pm central time CFO and follow with the VP (haven't done my first HW run yet). Nobody around! Then PTT asked me what I was up to.....I ask her what day it is. Ummm it's Wednesday!!! Was my little ducky face red!
So happy to hear that others are welcome. He hasn't played much lately but I want to get my brother thru factory to get the rest of his suit. (and of course I'll need merits.....2 birds and all that) but unless he's done some work since I saw him on last his laff isn't very high yet (hopefully we can work on that) Doing the factories will help his gags which aren't too bad considering his laff (50's I think)?
I had planned on bringing him to a CCG run and teaching him the ropes before we went. Think that option is out now! Hope when the time comes, not in the real near future as he only has 2 parts so far and we don't seem to get on together often, you'll all welcome him. He's 17 yrs my junior so I'm kind of a Mommy figure to him...then again we're also friends. I brought him to a bean fest once and also to the pit before a run. His reaction was pretty funny!

Just an FYI...
No one 'cept me showed up for this morning's CFO run. I thought about soloing it but then...who would I have to talk to?
I love the fact that there are daytime runs... Am I the only one at home (or who can sneak away at work) to do some daytime runs?
GiGi
EDIT: Went to the VP run... we had a full load in the elevator. Everything going great at the cog battle until I noticed a TNT lying on the floor when no one had thrown it (maybe left over from an earlier battle?) and shortly after spotting it I was disco'd from TT. Too frustrated to even think about returning I went for a long swim at Duck Tape's swimming hole. I'm NOT going back to the VP until these 'updates' are through. ~ GiGi

I am home most days - I had just checked the schedule, missed it by 15 mins. Gonna try to VP if anyone is there. I'm a little leary though because of these updates, heard it may not be a wise idea.
