Well, I've downloaded the ringtone, and I can't hear it. But let no one say I'M gettin old, Oh no... None of THAT! I credit my lack of hearing as a fortunate turn of events. I hear less grumbling from the boys when they are reminded to, "...do your chores (yes they have chores). or "take out the trash", or "...go clean your room". So I'm less likely to fly off the handle for such things. Then again, I remember small-game hunting with dad years ago, and the great crisp sounds of those shotguns ringing in my ears. And, Oh yes, I did a stint for a couple years on boats in the offshore oil patch. Wow, those motors are big AND loud! Ahhh, those were great times... But I can just barely hear them all now... OK, maybe I AM gettin on in the years, ya think?
Jeremy, my soon-16, has a phone. I'm not worried about him, as we threaten to take it away from him because often we want to get him, and it's... OFF! Now Stephen, the 11 yr-old, having learned from his older brother, thinks having a phone is coooooool, grown-up, and wants one worse than a Season's Pass to 6-Flags. He's the one I'm going to have to watch, yep! But he likes shooting too, so I think I'm not worried about him either, at least concerning this ring-tone thing.

I really don't know how I missed this thread when it started but I did. Just listend to the rington thingy...yup I could hear it and it was very annoying and rather hurt my ears. That would be a concern of mine. You hear in the news these days that kids growing up with the headphones in their ears listening to music are going to have hearing problems when they are older, what about this...I can't imagine that it is actually good for their ears. Well I can see what will happen in the future, someone will end up sueing some store for using such "repellent" against kids because they stood their and listened to it because it didn't bother them; just like someone sueing McDonalds because they are fat...well HELLOOOOO???? Sometimes people are so stupid.
My kids...no phone here, thought about it for my almost teenager but he really doesn't have a use for it right now, he is homeschooled and doesn't generally go anywhere that he isn't going to have access to a phone. I guess I am another mean parent here, use the public phone.
I don't believe that cell phones need to be in the classroom either, although I think it is ok for them to have them at school because a situation after school might deem it necessary for them to use a phone (although the public phone could be utilized couldn't it???). But keep the phone out of site or I would take it. Keep it all year??? I just have a problem with something so expensive to be taken like that, maybe give it back to the parents, but then...would the parents stick with the original punishment??

Hm, I am a teenager personally and....I have a phone. But I haven't used it in over 3 months. I really do not understand what the point of making this a ring tone for a phone..It's really kind of pointless unless you want to scare someone that has a phobia about getting bit by a mosquito.
And to most of the "Parents" here, you really should get you kid(s), a phone with limited time, and only allow them to call your house, your phone,911 Etc. For emergencies of course, just don't let them called there friends.

Good point about the phone!
My daughter is 11. She is starting to go places where I do want her to be in touch. I can give her my cell phone (have to have it for work, pagers are so last year). But, then *I* have to stay home and wait for her call . So, she may be getting a limited phone as above next year.
