Stop that Doodling and Give me an answer!
View Single PostView Single Post

Need some answers, suggestions, thoughts on Doodle traits for my VP Uber (or whatever you want to call him Laughing )

I have the 5000 bank and it is full....looking at upgrading to a Dreamland doodle... what are the better traits?

The Rarely Tired / Hungry / Confuse and any other negative trait has to be good Shocked

The Always positive ones are what I'm interested in.... I think Question

What traits have you found to be the most useful?

My big toons have DDL doodles and some are better than others but it has been so long ago I don't really remember what Traits they have... plus I haven't been a doodler my self Confused

Thanks!

Treading's DDL doodle was copied from LVTP's doodle who performs fairly well although I rarely call her. Her traits are - rarely tired, always affectionate. I haven't spent much time with Tw's doodle and her tricks are only about 20% complete. Although she has only performed maybe 3 times in the vp - she has rescued me countless times while soloing buildings and gag training. I'm interested in hearing what the "pros" doodle traits are.

Also - I've had many people question me as to why I don't use a doodle training program. I've been told that Disney can suspend your account if they find out - so I've been doing it the hard way. Not worth the chance. Can anyone expand upon that too?.

Hmm - not to get off subject here (not that we EVER do that!), but you are Treading Water? I love that name! I made non-SF with Cool CJ and then you guys helped my SF and I do a factory with our little toons. Then, saw you at the VP! Cool CJ is a great friend - who is he Smile?

Miss P has a DDL doodle, but don't remember the traits. She is rarely tired I know! Of course, the big toon that can afford the good doodle rarely needs it!

LOL - Cool CJ is listed here on ttf as Knot AToll Monkey. Have a couple of his toons on LVTP. He was telling me he had just made nsf with you. I kept saying I'd seen your name in a siggy somewhere? Saw it today again and made a mental note to tell him tonight. He is a very good player and great fun to play with.

BTW - I love your name too!

This is my best doodle, Friday. She belongs to my cash uber Miss Bananaswirl. She was the easiest to train:

This is Ricky's doodle, Izzy. She's also pretty good.

It seems I forgot to screenie Ladybugs doodle Crying or Very sad , but Friday is the best anyway. I think Ladybugs was actually the most expensive of the lot if I recall, around 4600 jbs. I'm sure she was "Rarely" on any of the bad traits. Why do they only show 4 of the traits?

Happy doodling Laughing

I spent a lot on my Doodle in DDL and she's taking forever to train. She had very high attributes when I purchased her yet after the big TT overhaul late last fall she's seemed dumber. She doesn't eat much though. All of the other family doodles seemed to have contracted tapeworm (after the overhaul) because they are ALWAYS hungry. I go do a building and return to toonup and they are hungry AGAIN!

Mr. Green Well I don't know how much help I can be in this subject. I have 5 doodles that are all different and have paid 1000 beans for some and then the most expensive ones is DDL. The two that I bought for 1000 beans work the best actually. You want one that wont get hungry to often. These kind get mad at you faster. Laughing I have one that gets bored quick but he toons every time you call him. So.. I guess it just depends on how lucky you get with the doodle you pick. The one I paid like 5000 beans for.. very stubborn and won't work all the time. That one is for my maxed toon and she is ugly and not very helpful at times when you really need her. Laughing

So that's all I know about doodles.. and hope some of it helps you out!

DDL, is there any other place? If you don't like the doodles you see one day, try again another day. Every district has the same doodles in the pet shops, so don't waste time hopping around.

I knew about the daily changing and the same in all districts. I should of took a pic when I got them.... Rolling Eyes

His Minnies doodle seems good but only had it for a couple of weeks...took 4 days for a "good" one to appear.

Thanks for the info.... the more the better.

Hi there!

If I could add my 2cents on this subject.... Smile

If you want to use your doodle for battle my opinion is to get one that is

Rarely:
Tired
Confused

Always or Very:
Excited
OR
Playful

What made me itch to post is this:

Quote:
I got my first ddl doodle just a few days ago. it is rarely tired, rarely bored, and always excited

I have a theory on this!! Idea

My thoughts are that it is best to find out which of the higher level tricks your doodle performs most easily (best discovered when they are new and not trained yet) and stick with that one trick.

What works for me is play dead.

I like play dead because:

It is a "slow" trick

This is useful in giving your toon the oportunity to verbally reward your doodle in battle
and
is of great use when "milking" or "camping" a building and the invasion runs out as a time waster along with lure and let timer drag to pass.....(ummm playing solo tactics Laughing )

My "theory" is that your doodle is less likely to be confused if you are only teaching it the one!

Also.....make sure you check in on your doodle and scratch tell them they're good...etc...once in a while, when I'm using mine hard I check in at least ONCE a day. It helps to optimize their performance.

Now in my opinion the BIG SECRET or KEY to getting them to perform is to periodically (I do it once per day when I'm using them hard as I mentioned before) work on the trick at home repetitavely.....

Example:

I go home and make them play dead 10 - 15 times in a row...this goes pretty fast as I scratch as soon as they start performing.....and then I can say good girl while scratching....then start ssaying play dead again right away even before the scratching is done Smile

This seems to really help reinforce their perfomrance and keep them fine tuned Laughing

Also...when I call on them in battle as soon as they pop up I start this dialogue:

Good girl!
You are awesome!
You Rock!

Sometimes I
applaud them
and sometimes I say
You are a genius!

If they don't perform I say:
Good girl!
You look nice!

I never ever say anything mean to them....if I want to say "Oh, well" I wait untill they are gone Laughing

As a side note:
On the speedchat to them in battle...I don't know for sure on that if it makes a difference, or if it is just me being super cautious!! I play alone 90% of the time and I need my doodles to perform!

I myself have a question that is burning me up I've been dying to find this out:

what exactly does the term standard imply as far as doodles go?

FWI I tend to ramble so I hope this isn't confusing information I truly believe in it and hope it is of some use to some of you!

Mama's Toons

I'll post in the new here topic one of these days soon!
p.s.s. please forgive me the typos as I am playing TT and couldn't quickly find a spell check or focus enough to redo Shocked

Curtsie Cat's Doodle Hobo was a fancy DDL doodle rarely confused, rarely hungry, very excitable were the main characteristics, the is very efficient when fed and scratched maxxed at all but Speak.

Baby Duck Egg's Crouton was from Daisy's with similar traits he's also maxxed at all but Speak and has saved my feathers countless times, Eggie only had the 5,000 bean bank at the time too so it worked out splendidly.

Al ScareYou just grabbed a cheapie from TTC as he only had the 1,000 bean bank when he got his Doc, standard Doodle is maxxed at only Jump but performs at least 95% of the times, that 10 pts TU sure comes in handy in a pinch and has saved this kitty's fur also numerous times, he was obviously the best bargain (cost about 200 beans) although he used to be hungry very often, he is much more reasonable these days.
Just feed and/or scratch before going fighting and he's good to go.

CC
Very Happy

warlybear will be a tuneless uber so needs an awesome doodle. i'm torn between waiting for a bigger bank to afford a better doodle or grabbing a "standard" doodle from ttc that i can go ahead and start training NOW (no i don't have a patience issue :-" ) what's the basic opinion on doodles? are they worth the wait?

OK, here is my opinion for whatever it is worth.

In my toon career, I have had 9 doodles. To date, three have been from Dreamland and the other 6 have been from MML.

Dizzy started out with a MML doodle that always had a heart above its' head. I didn't care about the traits, it was cute, ok? It was a MML "Standard" doodle. It performed ... often enough ... for an untrained doodle. About that time, "Doodles in battle" had just been released. I figured it would be more important to have a "good" doodle from DDL. I traded in that precious little doodle with the heart above its' head and bought Titania, "Rarely confused." Rarely confused? Yea, maybe in DREAMLAND. That stupid picklemelon is more confused than any other doodle. I figured after maxing her tricks she would be better, but she isn't and now I won't get rid of her because she is maxed. I regretted trading in that adorable doodle with the heart for the dreaded beaneater. Titania is doing better these days, but still only working about 60% of the time. Only rolls over and jumps. Everything else is a crapshoot.

Little Dizzy had a MML doodle with a heart above her head most of the time. Again, it was cute. Another MML "Standard" doodle. It also performed often enough for an untrained doodle. I found a doodle I liked better (cuteness factor again) so I traded the old one in on Sunshine, Little Dizzy's current doodle. Sunshine performs quite often, especially now that she is maxed. For awhile she was hungry almost all of the time, but that recently wore off after making sure I went for a month feeding her once or twice a day. She works probably 60-70% of the time and usually has a heart. Fully maxed but performs maybe 3 tricks regularly.

Super Dizzy has only had 1 doodle... Sassy. She is the cutest little baldy doodle there is. No ears, no tail, and pink... looks like a naked molerat but performs at almost every calling. Went for the PINK factor on this one, another MML Standard. She works probably 80-90% of the time and usually has a heart. She is fully maxed but only performs about 3 tricks regularly.

Missy has Tinkles, another cuteness factor MML Standard who performs most of the time... probably 80-90% of the time and almost always has a heart. She is maxed in only 3 tricks but performs most tricks any time.

Mousewife is fun, and really needed a doodle named Orangeade, so obviously needed an orange doodle. Another MML Standard which probably works 70-80% of the time and usually has a heart. Fully maxed but usually performs 3 or 4 tricks regularly.

McZilla had a TTC special when I got him and I quickly sold that worthless rat and bought Minuet, a DDL, "Rarely Tired, Rarely Confused." Perhaps she would have been less confused had I spoken PIG LATIN. Stupid as could be and hungry all the time so I traded her in recently on Sweetie Pie, another DDL "Rarely Tired Rarely Confused." This one seems to be a little better, but still not that great. Never a heart and hasn't worked in battle once yet.

My general opinion is that MML doodles are happier, hence all the hearts. Happy doodles are working doodles, ifyaknowhatimean. My DDL doodles just seem to be bumps on the log for the most part. Oh, they work, often enough I suppose, but I prefer the MML doodles.

wow, very informative TY! i wish i could remember where i had gotten my big toon's doodle, he's fairly reliable and doesn't eat me out of house and home like my daughter's ttc doodle. i know he's not a ddl doodle cuz had thought about trading him in when i got large bank but hated to start all over with training even though he's not even close to maxxed lol. one more question that i had forgetten to ask. is boredom a good or bad trait? sounds bad but on second thought maybe they'd be more apt to perform to relieve their boredom?

3 of my toons have DDL doodles, I'm not sure of thier traits but Im pretty sure they were good, and NONE of them work to well, now my new black kitty has a TTC doodle whos standerd, was hungry a lot when I first got her. not much now, she worked really well Id say proformd 65% of the time BEFORE I maxed her jump, now she's about 90,95%- with jump anyways. No way am I giving her up for a DDL doodle. Very Happy

I have a friend whos had about 6 doodles on her new black cat cause thave all stunk, she was buying male doodles and saw how well my female doodle worked, and decided she thinks female doodles work best. i dont know, all my dodles have been female, and only 1 is good. Go figure Confused

A rare occurrence... even my DDL doodle gave me a heart for this screenie. Typically, I can scratch each MML doodle one time (as shown in the pic) and get a heart but the DDL doodle just stares at me. Just thought I'd show off my babies and the beaneater. Wink
