What controls are used to "beam" from 1 floor to a
View Single PostView Single Post

When you go in the factory you end up in the area where you smash the goons with the stompers then go up to the elevator to the silo section. Recently I've noticed that some players have come up with a way to eliminate having to smash the goons.

They jump to the section that you came in if you took the longer way. Then they run to the wall and you can see them fly straight up to the floor above where they then go through the door to the elevator. Apprently the same control is used to jump into the elevator taking them to the floor above.

Does anyone know how this is done? I've gone into the factory by myself and tried to replicate the beaming from one floor to the next unsuccessfully.

I believe it has something to do with using page up, but am unsure of what sequence of key strokes is required.

If someone could enlighten me as to how to do this I would be enternally grateful.

Thanks, Bill

The only way I can do it is by running into the wall, (or being right against it), and pushing the F9 key. From my viewpoint it looks as tho I am just walking through the wall, but others see it as jumping straight up. This also takes a screenshot and stores it in my files, but I just go into my computer once every two weeks or so and delete the unwanted screenies. Hope that helps. bhappy2

Keep running into the wall and press the Home key. Home key is used to bring up the gag window (or is that the task window?) which causes your toon to go through the wall. Either way, the F9 or the Home key should work for you. It is what we refer to as a 'glitch'.

I use the HOME key to do this...I have found out there are other places where I have used the F9 key, and it's not necessary. F9 will take a picture on TT, and I already have my file overflowing with picts....so as a way of avoiding additional pictures, I will this. The HOME key does a great job.

You will notice that the HOME key does better sometimes when it's laggy on TT, examples...Jumping the wall in DDL playground instead of using the stairs (works better in the busy districts), also...glitching in the mint, in the gear room on the stairs....face the wall, and tap tap tap on the home key, it will send you under the stairs, and you can run, and pop up on the stairs on the platform (usually works better if things are slow...otherwise use F9 or the barrel)

Sometimes when I'm a little laggy (and sometimes even when I'm not) I find that I can just walk through that wall. I use a laptop all the time and home doesn't work for me at all. Not sure why. Have to do F9 to glitch.

I use the Home key on my elderly computer, and sometimes just jumping at the wall is enough. My hubby has a newer laptop, and he has to slow down his microprocessor speed before this glitch will work for him.

Home stopped working for me on this computer, but another method someone posted awhile back works just great. I just click on another toon (either someone in the factory with me or a toon on my friends list) and then click on the arrow to see their gags. It takes me right through the wall.

Another way I learned was to use the print screen key and if that didn't work the printscreen and the home key at the same time while running into the wall. I like this way if it works because then I don't have to worry about the screenshots in my toontown folder but sometimes the F9 key is the only way I can do that.

I found that the best way to glitch things is to click on another toons name and click on it repetitively until you get the desired results. I figured that one out when they fixed the home key glitch.

I click on another toons name once while walking into the wall.

Oh, I never knew about pressing keys, I just run up to the wall, and sometimes it works. I have seen some toons in the sky once, I think it was when I was 20 or so laff points on my main, and I could teleport up to them. To get down, I had to teleport to someone on the ground. Has anyone everheard of this?

Hey Audrey, you know what the print screen key does? It takes a picture of your desktop (or whatever you are running) and keeps it in your clipboard. Your clipboard is where your computer temporarily stores stuff that you Right Click on and select Copy, like text, pictures, music, etc. So although you don't have to deal with the screen shots, you might have a large picture file being stored in your clipboard, which in turn will use up some of your computer memory.
