I have a question.....

What exactly is "TEST"?

I assune that the testers get to play the game updates and report any defects or whatever? Do the test toons play in a seperate server, or...do they play with the rest of us but your updates are installed before ours?? I would like to play with the Mayberry events, but I have 3 toons that I already play and just don't have the time if the events happen on a different server!

Yep, completely different server as PTT said AND you have to make a new toon to play there as well. If you look at a lot of siggys here (including mine) people list their "open" toons and their "test" toons because you can't play your open toons on test OR your test toons on open...if that makes any sense. You basically get another brand new account (on the test server), start from scratch and look for any bugs or errors and report them as you find them. If you DO decide to sign up next time they're looking for testers, keep in mind that you have to build a new toon strong enough to "test" any new things coming...like BBHQ. (The number of 15 laff toons wanting to CJ when Law came out was quite frightening at times.)

That's Cool! It doesn't sound like something I would enjoy, but now I know what the deal is. What types of "bugs" do you look for? Are you looking for minor issues like graphic distortions, or only major stuff. It seems to me that you would have to be vefy thorough!

Since we are talking about "bugs"........how come I can't "jump" to the top of the West Silo in SBHQ anymore. This is a faster computer than my old one, but even my wife has trouble doing it on the old machine! Was that a "bug" and did they fix it?

I used to get jelly beans in the Lava Room also.....but, if I fall off I can't jump up like I used to be able too! Now....I stay clear of that place. It STRESSES ME OUT IF I TRY NOW.....LOL

And what about the "open your book shortcut" in that one room in CBHQ? Y'know the room with the 5-6 toon up barrels. You used to be able to get against the wall by a barrel....open the book......close the book......and POOF!, you could run through the wall to the top without having to do all the NASTY jumps! I haven't been in that particular room on the new PC to see if that shortcut still works!

Testers are supposed to report any issue they find from misspellings on signs, to trees in the middle of streets, you name it. The reason you probably can't glitch to the top of the silos or go through the wall in CBHQ anymore is most likely because your new computer is too fast! It CAN still be done, but it "helps" if your computer is lagging, if it isn't you'd have a hard time doing it. I bet if you play for a long period of time as your lag increases you'll find (at least on your old pc) that you should still be able to do those glitches since they haven't been fixed. Hope that helps!

Just like everyone said, it is a different server. The account is free and yours as long as you have a paying account on the open servers.

One of the reasons these Mayberry events are so great is the test server is very quiet and it can be really difficult to advance your toon because help is hard to find. On the other hand on test if you find a toon around they are happy to help if they have the time. But it is not uncommon to check out both districts on test and find no toons in any of the playgrounds at all.

Even if your pc is new, it is possible to glitch. You just need to generate "lag"....there are a few posts around that tell you how to best accomplish the generation of lag

I find test to be great. The only thing is there aren't as many toons on it. Like everyone else has said it is a seperate server. For the most part the toons that play on there are usually kind and helpfull. You just look for anything out of the ordinary and then report a bug to them about the problem. It's fun to test new things comming to toontown such as the law HQ and bears when they came out....."bread"........"bread" lol.....that was hilarious! Anyways I enjoy test. If u do become a part of it i'd be happy to help u out whenever I could.
